Requires 4WD/high clearance AWD road to camp spot. Plenty of shade at spot with picnic area that is covered. Drinking water, sink and outdoor cold water shower. Bouldering (climbing), fire pit (seasonal), covered deck, hiking and VIEWS! Plenty of room and separate camp spots- lock the gate and you will have no visitors or onlookers. Single outdoor flush toilet with sink.  We provide a Propane stove - 2 burner, propane, toilet paper, dish soap and hand soap.  No COTS.Guests love it here "This was finally checked off of my saved list—my partner and I rented a 4x4 to get up there since our 2WD car wouldn't have made it in one piece. It was only a short drive from downtown San Diego and was super easy to navigate. Once we arrived the experience was TRULY MAGICAL. We had such an awesome experience exploring the property, birdwatching, hiking and some light climbing. Don't forget to check out the cave! The facilities were beyond expectations and we had a seamless experience. Steve was super accommodating and was great at communicating—he even gave us a small tour of the property! The sunsets and sunrises here were something out of a dream, we wish we could wake up every morning here. We will definitely be coming back soon!"

Detour N De Luz, offers camping experiences that are unique and outside the status quo. Campers are given freedom of choice. Within a 10 acre range of sloping hillside, majestic rock formations and lush exotic landscape, you can find your own ideal camp spot or choose one of our leveled spots, already cleared of dry brush and ready for above ground standard tent camping. Dogs allowed on leash only and be familiar with Southern California's indigenous wildlife proper protocol, when accompanied by your canine. The camping area resides on the North side of the Via Cordoniz access road, starting at Deadwood Dome site and the Detour N De Luz sign at top of staircase, ranging North West 3/4 of the mountain up, and 10 acres left. Please be mindful of the property markers, and respect our neighboring property lines. You are responsible for your own fitness in hiking the inclining trails and staircases. Hiking or walking sticks are highly recommended. A shared cooking area, has been cleared, providing use of the propane gas grill (campers must supply own 1 lb green canister), standard size cooler, small fire extinguisher, and carved or cut seating. Nearby, a shared pit toilet with a small 5 gallon black solar shower bag, shower toga, toilet paper, glass wash basin and pouring bottle-for minor freshening, vanity mirror and 5 gallon water jug, refilled daily- or more frequently, if needed, all located in a pallet wood stall. Two additional 3 persons sleeping tents are both folded and stored at the cooking area, for guest use. Please leave an additional $5 per night, per sleeping tent used and fold back neatly, before check out. If you would like the tent set up and taken down for you, we charge $10 per tent set up breakdown fee , plus $5 per night tent rental. Dignity and respect for the experience of every Being, is of paramount importance. If you read any review let it be this one. It was an absolutely gorgeous property very easily marked spots. Awesome hosts very good produce and maintained property. The spot is right in front of a cow enclosure they are very friendly. There is a beautiful koi pond. My only grievence is that we didn't stay longer. 10/10 property.

Definitely had owls very close by in the night! So peaceful. There was some slight road noise but it was very minimal. A sanctuary for sure. Very good vibes, and Lacy was so welcoming and helpful. No facilities (although the gazebo was nice), just a water spigot. And a lovely walk down to the pond.

What a slice of paradise Bernard and Hoa share with the campers. They are friendly, generous, and accommodating. Their property is just a few blocks away from the cute town of Ramona, CA! Marinade on Main is a favorite restaurant nearby. Their property is secluded, secure, and peaceful behind a coded gate. There are three camping sites that are quite large, and several tent sites. The grounds are well maintained. We enjoyed the proximity to downtown San Diego, La Mesa, Santee, and our son’s home nearby. We were able to stay at Thompson’s Palm Farm quite a few days as there is water, electric, and septic. We will return again and again!

Stayed one night in Roadrunner with my dog Poppy. The farm is really beautiful and well-kept. We had a cozy night of sleep and we loved hanging out with Gertie the farm dog. I live 40 mins away but this was the perfect getaway from the city. Lots of bird spotting and a beautiful sunset. The kitchen has everything you need. Will definitely return!

My gf and I had the best time on Vicki’s land for thanksgiving weekend. It was such a treat to have amenities like a sink with warm water and flushing toilets. the land is stunning with views from every corner and fun hiking trails throughout the mountain. vicki has such great energy and made sure to welcome everyone. pumba the pig is so friendly and WILL eat anything left unguarded at night 🤭 so make sure to treat your trash just like any bear camping setting. thanks again vicki, we hope to come back some day!

Had an amazing time at camp site 16. Amazing perk was the water connection and electricity outlet. Toilet and shower is well maintained, however was not able to work the shower near us. Also take into account the noise from the road. Highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely beautiful, Very private and quiet. Expect to see wildlife, deer, coyotes, rabbits, etc. The cave is located in the other side of the hill top behind the water tank (go right). The road is a bit rough to get there so 4x4 or AWD definitely required. Other than that, you will love the landscape. If you want to escape to town its just a quick drive for decent dining options, we went to Hooleys. Would definitely come back.

Magical! Great response from host when I had questions before & after booking about what to bring. The VW bus was nice and warm at the end of November. Absolutely adored the goats: super sweet. I loved seeing ALL the animals there. There was not one thing I didn’t love about this campsite: private, lovely views, bathroom within close walking distance, literally all the things. 5/5 stars, 100% would do again.

Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Welcome to Nopalito Farm! We’re so happy you’ve decided to spend some time on this beautiful property! In case you’re interested, here are a few interesting things about our farm. Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.

Currently we don’t have any creek and pond water on the land. Mild seasonal temperature swings, fresh air, clear evening skies for star gazing, the property is in a valley surrounded by the Cleveland National Forest and it was formally used as a 1950's Boys Scouts of America campsite. Our Mom purchased the family property over 40 years ago, and my siblings and I grew-up with weekend trips exploring and camping on the property. With love and respect that all that Mother Nature designs be left wild and free, the more than 100 acres is dispersed with groves of old oak trees, mountains are covered in chaparral and manzanita shrubbery, and seasonal waterfalls, streams, a lake with a dam, dirt roads, and hiking trails. Our family's wish is to share our little bit of heaven on earth property with others who will love it as we do.
