Custom designed by artist John Henry Jones, the Ranch House is the largest and most private suite at the Joshua Tree Container Resort, and has a large screened in front porch giving our guests a safe way to recreate in the outdoors in Theis desert wilderness area. Two queen beds are available inside the history-laden ranch house (originally homesteaded during the WWI era). It is steps away from the hot tub, pool, gym, hammock palapa and great lounging spots on the ranch.

Such a peaceful spot to enjoy the nights at while exploring Joshua Tree National Park and nearby art and towns. Very cozy! Loved all the extras like the record player, yoga mats and wheels, soaking tub, etc. Highly recommend this casita!!!

This site is amazing. Exactly as described. Perfect for a solo work retreat or for relaxing after a day of hiking and exploring Joshua Tree National Park. The host has taken great care to provide some essentials you may not be able to travel with… emergency kit, foldable outdoor chairs, yoga mats, games, books, and so much more. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again for a longer stay!

This spot is EXACTLY as pictured. We loved how bright, welcoming and comfortable it is. The proximity to the east entrance of Joshua Tree State Park can’t be beat! And there’s art all around if you keep your eyes peeked (“Springs”, I’m ‘looking at you! And the end of the world …) Had trouble with the door lock but Jonathan was very responsive and fixed it immediately. For those needing to work, the wifi held up to my Zoom meetings. And anyone worried about the heat (it hit 114 during our stay) should know that the air conditioners and ceiling fans kick butt. Thank you!

This Casita is adorable. It has everything you need. Especially air conditioning which feels wonderful in the summer heat. We came to see meteor showers and loved sitting outside at night and watching the skies. There is tons of privacy and the desert was so quiet. We even heard coyotes yipping at night.

Jonathan was a super host! Provided clear Check-in instructions and the process was a breeze. Home was located on a dirt road, but not far from the main highway. We had so much outdoor space to ourselves, our dog loved running around while we enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio with a scenic view! Location was great as it was only 10 minutes away from north entrance of Joshua Tree, close to popular trails such as Skull Rock and Heart Rock. Home itself had everything you could need. We even used the provided camping chairs to go stargazing. Overall had a wonderful experience and would stay here again!

Bohio Retreat had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in 29Palms with close proximity to explore Joshua Tree National Park. They even had camping chairs, a cooler and extra blankets to borrow for camping one night in the park. The sunset views were incredible. Jonathan was a very kind and responsive host. Expect light water pressure as they do operate on a water tank located at the property. Overall a wonderful stay we won’t forget!

Steve’s camp (or should I say Glamp) was the most relaxing camp experience I’ve ever had in my life. I was there for less than 24 hours and it felt like I spent an entire week relaxing. I enjoyed an amazing sauna and one of the best jacuzzis ever, and I’m very particular about my hot tubs. Steve was also the most hospitable host I’ve come across and he’s an even better tour guide (I highly recommend his ATV tour around Joshua Tree). Extremely accommodating and the nicest guy in the world. If you’re looking to enjoy Joshua Tree, just relax for a few days, stargaze, or all of the above, then this is the place to stay. 100%. I’ve already recommended it to all of my friends and family.

A wonderful retreat in 29 Palms, with all you need available to you provided by host! I felt as if I forgot something, I would be covered by all the amenities that were provided throughout the house to make you feel at home. From the auto-defrosting mirror, the office setup for remote workers - It is a perfect place for a weekend/or workweek getaway to the desert!

Cozy little home right near Joshua Tree. Plenty of amenities and the pool / hot tub / campfire pit mean that you can enjoy a night at the ranch in lieu of going into the park. Jonesy was a great host and gave me a lot of great information about the area. Very responsive to requests as well. Looking forward to coming back some day!

Excellent customer service! Steve was a great guide to the park. I was a little nervous about bringing my dog to Joshua Tree National Park, but our helpful host recommended some dog friendly areas and made our dog’s trip worthwhile! The property was accommodating and comfortable. We were lucky to meet other friendly guests visiting the park, adding a fun element to our stay. The sunsets and stargazing from this property has left a special place in my heart. A stay at El Ranchito is definitely recommended!

Perfect launching pad for Joshua Tree National Park. Lovely mountain view for the sunrise and sunset. Just a nice comfy place. There were dirt roads going to the place, but if you go the recommended soeed you’ll be fine. Our little compact car did fine.

We had an amazing time in this beautiful space!! The hot tubs were even more enjoyable post hike and Dream Suit views were incredible. Jonesy was such a knowledgeable and generous host- we will absolutely be back! The horses and ranch dogs were an extra treat. Total peace and great vibes all around:)

The suite was great! I was there in june so very hot but the AC held up super well. The daybed outside was a wonderful way to escape the heat along with the pool. At night the views of the stars were amazing from the hot tub. The place was perfectly located, just 15 mins from the entrance to joshua tree and 10 from restaurants in 29 palms.
