Unbelievable views of the San Francisco Peaks, gorgeous glistening aspen groves, graceful pine trees, wildlife sightings, and good old fashioned eco-therapy will soothe your soul and ease away your tension. Close to the Grand Canyon! Just 1/2 mile off the Arizona Trail! Hike 6 miles to Snowbowl. This darling camper cabin has one bedroom with a queen sized bed (2 guests), and two pull out couches for up to four additional guests. The well stocked kitchen has all the cookware and utensils you'll need for cooking, a propane range, as well as a cooler for your use (bring ice). A gas barbecue is on site as well. The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate that is provided for your enjoyment. Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. If that's not enough check this out:(a) it's just 5 miles to the Arizona Nordic Center for incredible cross country ski trails(b) it's just 18 miles to Snowbowl for chairlift rides or world class skiing(c) it's just 20 miles to the hip town of Flagstaff for fantastic restaurants, golfing, shopping, coffee shops and museums(d) it's just 60 miles to historic Williams with the Bearizona wildlife park and the popular Grand Canyon Railway(e) it's just 55 miles to the world famous Grand Canyon. (f) It's just 50 miles to gorgeous Sedona, making it a perfect day trip! (g) and last but not least, it's right next to the Kendrick Snowmobile Trails, which offers 54 miles of unbeatable snowmobile adventures! The property is located approximately 2.1 miles off the main highway down a forest service road. The road is in excellent shape during the summer months. During winter you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access the property, particularly if there has been a significant snowfall recently. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!
Pets must be well behaved and cleaned up after, including excessive animal hair. Leash laws apply to Coconino National Forest. Please do not book the Glamper Cabin if you plan to bring a pet which is known to be aggressive or unpredictable in nature, including breeds or mixed breeds such as pitbulls, rottweilers, bullmastiff and American Bulldog. We are not responsible for any interactions your pets may have with wildlife or other pets in the area.

Welcome to Verde River Vortex where we have simple yet Comfy Cabin Camping with access to tons of outdoor activities in close proximity to Camp. The Cabins are nestled around a patch of Bamboo and other high desert vegetation as well as a very rich cultural history with many Ruins and Other Native American Sights in the surrounding areas.
The Verde River is one of Arizona's only two Wild and Scenic Rivers, yet it remains relatively undiscovered as a recreational resource offering endless exploration and water fun in the Spring and Summer Months! The road to reach us is breathtaking in itself with ancient Sinaguan Ruins and strangely beautifully sculpted landscapes along the River drive. Enjoy miles of forests, rivers, lakes, swimming, hiking, mtb, all near by and all while being comfy and cozy for a nights recharge to do it all again after a hot shower or Jacuzzi.
Each Cabin is fully equipped (hot water/basic appliances/kitchen/bathroom/dishes) as an Adventure base during your stay providing a comfortable, cozy and unique location for couples or small groups to enjoy while adventuring and creating memories in the area. We provide various suggestions on local activities for our guests to enjoy as well as helpful tips to get the most out of their stay. Your Host is a professional Outdoor Adventure guide with years of experience all over the Southwest and Costa Rica and always happy to help with adventure shine!

We had a great experience overall! Christine was flexible and understanding when we needed to change the dates of our stay. My daughter really enjoyed the property, especially the tire swing and hammock. It was a bit odd to us having a host on the property and around so much but Bill was helpful and friendly! Would recommend refinishing the benches and barstools on the deck as the wood was chipping in areas and could cause splinters. Some cushions on the benches would also add some more comfort but overall the deck was great for entertaining and relaxing. The inside was cozy and clean, had just the right amount of supplies for our stay. My daughter asked when we could go back before we even left, so we are looking forward to staying again sometime. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Verde River Vortex
Our host went above and beyond to make everything about this experience amazing. The stay was so soulful. We took the opportunity for river kayaking, and it was made so easy with our hosts help. We were blessed to be able take the time to spend a quiet day painting rocks and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A few nights under the stars on the loft deck were the reset we needed. Can’t boast more about this stay. Highly recommend all of it.

A very peaceful stay away from the busy city! Jason's helpfulness of what we could do in the area was very much appreciated. It was the best to have a place to stay with two little kids where we didn't have to worry that their busy feet were annoying anyone below us in a hotel. It was an added bonus to be able to bring our dog.

We created some very special memories staying at Jason's cabin and meeting Jason! The nature that surrounds the cabin is stunning and is a great getaway. We used hot bubbly Jacuzzi under a beautiful sky after our long hike. We all loved climbing up on the loft just to chill and observe beautiful sky and feel some fresh air. Jason welcomed us so kindly and made us feel home. The cabin and Jason's hospitality is so special and something that is hard to find elsewhere. We highly recommend! Thank you so much Jason! WE LOVED OUR STAY. The host was super helpful and had countless suggestions on places to check out. The river was beautiful! We plan to come back again and explore. This town is soooo underrated. It feels like we know about a secret place and it’s only 1.5-2 hours from the Phoenix Valley. The “cabin” was small and basic. No frills but we felt safe, had WiFi, clean place to cook, shower and sleep.

We absolutely loved these cabins! Jason was amazing! The hot tub was hot and felt great! Pet friendly and our dogs found so many bones! Trees provided so much shade. Comfy beds and futon. If your over 30 I wouldn't suggest sleeping in the loft if you've been drinking lol. Could use some games and a microwave but honestly was the time of our life! It was a staycation for us as we live in cornville but such a great get away. Will definitely book again.jason was the shit!!!!

This house is a wonderful base for exploring the Sedona area. It’s convenient to CottonWood, Camp Verde, the Village of Oak Creek, and anywhere in Sedona, which is just within a 30-minute drive away. The deck and creekside are my favorite spots—we enjoyed breakfast by the water in the mornings, and after a full day of exploring, we relaxed on the deck in the evening, cooking dinner and sipping tea or coffee. It felt so peaceful and cozy. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the property has BBQ grills both in the yard and on the deck, along with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The host also provides plenty of privacy, making the place feel like your own. If I return to Sedona, I would absolutely stay here again.

Not only is he extremely knowledgeable on all things adventure near by but he’s always there when you need something and is super accommodating. We loved these cabins! Super cozy, comfortable & pleasant. The kids enjoyed playing in the Jacuzzi and Jason was very hospitable and knowledgeable of the area, providing details and pins to guide us to great spots by the river that were perfect for even my mom to access. Paddle board rocked and the stars were amazing as well. Beautiful place, will most definitely be back!

It is a great location for stargazing and fishing. Close enough to Sedona to visit. Host was excellent and helped us find some cool spots for hiking and fishing! Beds are comfy enough. No microwave. But that would be my only negative.

I've camped here twice and the facilities are very clean but the campsites are tight together. The camp hosts are so sweet and amazing! The gas station and diner across the way are nice if you're missing a few small items or for coffee but it's expensive and not well stocked.

I was on a solo road trip and found my way to the Grand Canyon. I don't know what I was thinking...that I could just roll in and find a tent spot in the park without booking a year in advance...so I was extremely happy to find this campsite within a short drive to GCNP. It was not that crowded, as in I was able to arrive mid-afternoon, in the middle of the summer, and find a nice shady spot no problem. There are lots of trees and the campsites are a pretty good distance apart. I would highly recommend this spot because it is so close to GCNP, but you don't have to deal with booking so far in advance or the crowds. I will be returning next summer for sure!

Great place to camp in the summer as nights are cool due to high elevation. The Bathrooms were very clean, and we felt the campsites were fairly average when it came to spacing (not to close together, but then again not very private). Big trucks & cars drive along the road by the campsite all night/day so it can be noisy-try to get a spot on the opposite side of the entrance to avoid this. About an 1hr. away from the North Rim & is a pretty, scenic drive.

An older campground with small sites, spaced close together. However the fishing in this Lake is the main draw, unless you come out with a bunch of people who want to party, I would choose another campground & just go there to fish....

We camped here in June, Site 53, which we Thought we were Lucky to get as it is Right on the lake. Turns out that the wind comes Roaring Dow the lake, right through that site, which is quite exposed! It as So Windy we couldn't sit outside at all- Very Frustrating!! The Campground itself is Extremely Beautiful & quiet, with sites widely spaced but mostly back among the pines & spruces. The lake itself is really nice, but as for fishing, we didn't see ANY FISH CAUGHT in the 5 days we were there? Must be it hadn't been stocked lately. Otherwise a Very Nice & Isolated camp ground...

Jacob Lake CG had clean facilities and a very attentive host. Don't expect much privacy though... The sites are pretty scrunched together and it's located right next to a loud, busy road. There's a gas station and diner within walking distance if that's your thing (diner food was meh...). All in all it was a perfectly fine place to spend the night, but didn't offer much else aside from its close proximity to the Grand Canyon North Rim. (tent camping // one night // october)

Pleasant Surprise DeMotte was! Plenty of elbow room btw sites. Nice views. Deer foraging in the nearby woods. Walking distance to General Store and Kaibab Lodge Dining Room. No showers, though. Must explore the Forest Service back roads. Well maintained, and go to places you'd never think about, even the Grand Canyon, without going into the Nat'l Park. Great Find!
