Our main public gate closes at 4pm, when arriving later, enter through the very first service gate. It's always open and it's the immediate left turn once you turn onto Lanfair Road. Welcome to your peaceful, desert getaway. This little Retro Camper is only about 35 minutes from the Strip. The property is home to Joshua trees, desert mountain views, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best star gazing around.
The camper comes with a full kitchen, a refrigerator, microwave, and gas stove. Dishes and utensils are provided as well as bedding and towels. The bed is about a full size bed, maybe a bit smaller, cozy for two people to sleep in. The camper comes with two space heaters and extra blankets for the winter, an overhead air conditioning unit for the summer. The shower has cold water only and is an outdoor shower.

Meadview Arizona was founded in 1826 by Jedediah Smith on his Southwest Expedition in search for Beaver! Staying a small remote and quiet town it can feel like it would have in the Wild West.
We obtained our campground from a couple that owned it for 20 years but just weren't able to do to it what they had originally planned.. So it was essentially a blank canvas for us to create!! We are the closest town to the Grand Canyon SKYWALK, which is just 40 minutes from us. Meadview, the town we are located, is the only place to obtain Free Entree to the Lake Mead Recreational Center. Our Campground just 10 miles from Lake Mead and 17 Miles from the Colorado River. We have outstanding Lookouts, Top notch Stargazing, Gold Prospecting, Bird Watching, Fishing, Off Roading etc.
Some of the Best Desert Off-Roading through trails within the Joshua Tree National Forest, Please note you must bring your own OHV, horse, etc, there is currently no rentals available. We do have Kayaks to rent upon arrival. There is a hidden water fall in the Grapevine Wash that you can get to with a 4 wheel vehicle and you hike in about 15 minutes in. Stunning views and gorgeous natural spring and waterfall.
We are 45 minutes off the 93 Freeway
Free WIFI provided at the office!.. The town doesn't always have a powerful signal, please keep that in mind in your travels. However, if you have Verizon, it gets GREAT service!
There are three restaurants in town, all just one mile from site... The Boathouse, Anchor Smokehouse and Fishermans Landing Bar. We have a Bakery called Rosemary and Thyme that serves Delicious foods & Pastries and makes great coffees. There is also a Gas n Grub that has ice, propane etc... 5 miles away is a Family Dollar store which we lovingly call the "Mall of Meadview"

He loved shifting for gold with one of the neighbors in the desert up the road. Directions: from Kingman: head south on i-40 for 13 minutes to Griffith exit. take Griffith exit.
Turn right onto Griffith Road and drive for 0.4 mile
Turn Right on Apache Rd and drive for 1.4 miles to Navajo Rd (unmarked dirt road).
Turn left onto Navajo Rd and drive for 0.74 miles to Yava Rd (unmarked dirt road)
Turn Right onto Yava Rd and drive for 0.17 mile and turn left onto the property!

Weekend Trip to Retro Camper with Mountain Views
Great spot and really neat historic features in town! We hiked the 2.2 loop right outside the town and it was scenic and peaceful. At night you can hear the music and life of the natives which gives it even more charm! Great views of the stars on a clear night!

The camper has a beautiful view of the mountains. It’s a great location for accesible drives to desert adventures. Goodsprings is a tiny, quiet town. Heather was great host and helped us find what we needed. She was very responsive.

Great spot to pull in and sleep. I was car camping so I got a $20 week pass to EOS gym, less than a mile away, for workouts, sauna and showers.
Nice and flat, I had the place to myself.

Simple and straight forward over landing! The site is positioned atop a mountain overlooking Lake Mead just as the pictures shows! Waking up there with a coffee was incredible! You see yourself in, drive up a pitched elbow off the driveway to the main property and just do your thing. I set up a tent behind my Tacoma and absolutely loved it! Epic stats! Windy, so expect that.. You are, after all on top of one of the highest points in the area, but that felt safe. I could see everything below me.

There's so much to enjoy here! Instead of staying in Vegas for the convention, I chose to rent a car and take a nice 25-minute drive to get away from the bright lights and lively sounds of the casino. I would love to come back again. Thank you so much for letting me stay on your wonderful property!

We had a great experience renting this camper RV for two days. The RV was very clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. Everything we needed was provided, from the kitchen essentials to the comfortable sleeping space, which made our short trip stress-free and enjoyable.
The owner was very responsive, friendly, and clear with instructions, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a smooth and memorable experience.
Highly recommend this camper to anyone. We would definitely book again!

I had a wonderful HipCamp stay at Goffs Schoolhouse, right along historic Route 66 at the Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Site. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.
The setting is truly special; wide open skies, a stunning desert sunset, and a peaceful sense of history all around you. Exploring the grounds was a highlight, with fascinating museum objects and artifacts that really bring the area’s past to life.
The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, and the signage is helpful. You can hear the trains passing by at night, but honestly, it didn’t detract from the experience at all. I enjoyed one of the best sleeps ever, and with a pair of earplugs, it’s no problem whatsoever. Overall, this was a unique, comfortable, and memorable stay, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind desert camping experience on Route 66. :)

Jeffry’s Farm was a very convenient location for our needs. It is under a flight path, but we found this not to be a problem. Evenings were fairly peaceful and we actually enjoyed watching the planes come in during the day. Parking area was fairly flat and easy to get in and out of. We would stay here again if in the area.

The views are beautiful. There is a common area where campers can chill with each other and get info on local beauty. The people managing the grounds are very easy to get along with. I would highly recommend stopping here if you can. The bathrooms and shower
are very clean. The people are chill. I’ll be back.

Happy Trails is a beautiful place with. Great view of the canyon. The people that maintain the place are very cool, it’s a great little community. There is a common area to meet up with other travelers, which was a great opportunity to learn where to see sites that are not so ‘touristy’. I highly recommend. Say hi to Dave for me. 🙂
