If you have concerns please contact us for a road condition update, as ease of access can change with the weather.
WEATHER: Accommodations during snow and rain will be monitored and travelers will be notified of alternate routes or alternate place to stay.

We have RV sites with 110 outlets for $10, 30 amp for $30 and 50 amp for $50 up by the highway or campsites available from groves of elm and evergreens to higher, dramatic elevations with inspiring, expansive views. You may want to visit our on-site ranch store for all cuts of our grass-fed beef and more! Cabins and remote camping sites include campfire rings for grilling and outdoor pets are welcome. If traveling with your horses, pens are available along with miles of unpaved, remote, county roads to explore the varied landscapes. You can expect to encounter, both on the ranch and off, white tail, mule deer, turkey, hogs, coyotes, quail, dove, road runners and friendly locals always ready to stop and chat. We love meeting people and welcome new friends to join us doing all things ranch related, from feeding cattle and horses to improving infrastructure. Whether you're looking for souvenirs or wish to really experience the heart of Lone Mound Ranch we offer grass-fed beef by the lb, free range chicken eggs by the dozen, pastured goat milk, cheese, butter and ice cream & in season a variety of organic veggies to smother in butter for the grill! This is all brand new so we're still working to get things going. We're here to accommodate travelers passing through with inexpensive overnight options as they go down Route 66. Our primary business is our gift shop but we're trying to meet the needs of travelers as well.
No onsite restroom available yet but it's a short walk/bike ride/ car ride to public restrooms but we recommend discussing this ahead of time. RVs need to be self sufficient but we have one site with electricity available.

Very secluded private location on Lana‘s ranch. Visit with the horses and cows as they meander up to your campsite while you camp in their pasture for the night. Very quiet and dark, great for sleeping! However, if you have a dog, be aware, the ground is full of little tiny thorny burrs that get stuck in their paws, and the bottom of your shoes! Other than that a wonderful place to stay if you’d like to be off the beaten path.

Our family had an absolute blast here. From exploring the old ruins, to seeing tarantulas and bombardier beetles, to even a tiny mouse, we had so much fun exploring. The night sky and the stars were incredible, as well as the lightning show behind our rv. Usually there is too much light pollution in other places, but this spot was perfect! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and we will definitely be back if we pass this way again.

We stayed overnight on our way to Colorado. Host was easy to communicate with. Great spot! Nice and quiet over night. Had coffee and listened to neighbor chickens and roosters in the morning. Shop kitty was very friendly and fun. We will definitely stay here again when our travels bring us this way!

We stayed in the barn and it was a great break from camping. However the campsites were quaint and nicely situated on the property as well. Easy stop off the I 40 with groceries, fast food and gas nearby. I may have missed “cash only” in the write up but it is cash only on site if you are looking to pick up goods from their store. Would stay again if driving thru.

I was going to tent camp in under a grove of Elms and in fact had a great yoga session under their protection but approaching storms changed my sleeping arrangements to the car. Had a front row seat to lots of lightening and wind but no rain. My host graciously guided me in to the camp via messages and talked me through some road detours.

I spent 2 nights camping up on the mesa site and it was great! It's very quiet and peaceful with the very occasional vehicle driving by on the road below. I would definitely come back and camp at Lone Mound Ranch next time I'm in the area.
