40 ft fifth wheel · With pets · Not an RV park so much as a parking lot with very steep prices for basic amenities, very bright lights that blinded at night and made parking safely extremely difficult, and a highway and railroad next door to keep you from sleeping. The worst of it was that we got to pay $105 for the experience: $55 for an ELECTRIC ONLY patch of gravel (NO dog park, NO playground, NO pool, NO grass, NO paved anything, stuck in a cotton field, and an elderly house with rooms apparently to rent on the first floor of it that they called a “clubhouse”); and $50 that Hipcamp charged us to, 36 hours before we were originally scheduled to arrive, change our own reservation on line from a Sept 24 check-in to Sept 23. $50. ZERO effort on Hipcamp’s part, an automated “updated schedule” email from them that failed to give us half the information we needed (like how to unlock the damned electric box), and the place was less than half full that night so it’s not like we upset the apple cart by arriving a day early. All in all, a disappointing gouging in every respect. We can recommend neither Watson RV “park” nor Hipcamp.
