From pavement it's 3 miles of dirt road that requires 4x4 after rain or snow. Dark skies and daily sun celebrating.Artists and craftsmen will love this primitive spot in Happy, Texas. The farmhouse was built in 1948. The big flatland sky allows for a wide range of gazing both day and night. In the path of a string of playa lakes, the bird life is thriving and diverse. Also why 4x4 is required after rainfall. Seasonally the garden provides local ingredients. This is the place for minimal noise and light pollution. The host is a self proclaimed Jill of all Trades. Several projects going on is typical but not a racket. When visiting we ask that you leave it better than you found it. Pack it in, pack it out.
