We loved camping here! The site was clean and spacious. Loved how easily accessible everything was. It was beautiful and it was awesome to be so close to the river. The host was so cool as well! We will definitely be back!!!

Lovely campground! Appreciated that it had a firepit available to use. Beautiful views of mt index even though it was a bit smoky during our stay. Host was helpful and got us set up easily.

Excellent time camping with my family at Sappy Hollow! This was my second time staying there and it continues to get better. Travis is the man and will make sure your stay is well spent. I'll be returning semi-annually for the foreseeable future.

wow, just one of the best camping experiences I've ever had. camping site is pristine and well equipped with solo stove, bbq grill, and 2 large tables. The portopoties are clean. there is potable water nearby. down the hill is access to the river. the host is friendly and communicative. i will book for next year.

We loved our stay at the Sappy Hallow. It is nice and private with convenient sanicans, sink and portable water. The river access is awesome. The downhill to the river is very manageable with river call and stunning views. We stayed with another couple and their daughter, was a perfect spot for two small families and dogs. It's clear a lot of attention and care was put into making the property accommodating.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Mt. Index Sanctuary. From our secluded campsite to the incredibly clean bathrooms, access to running water and a sink, beautiful land, and of course, the highlight of the trip, the completely private riverside experience. It was also great to have a campfire in July. Our host Travis was informative and super gracious. We can’t wait to visit again six out of five stars.

This site was absolutely beautiful! The campground was clean and well-maintained, and each individual site came equipped with both a grill and a solo camp stove which was such a great bonus. Firewood and charcoal were readily available, which added a thoughtful touch to the experience. The restrooms were clean, and there was a convenient sink located nearby.
The walk to the river was short and easy, and the views once you arrive are truly unmatched, absolutely stunning. Travis was incredibly responsive and quick to reply to any questions. He also gave us a great tour upon arrival, which made it easy to get settled in.
We had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back! Thanks Travis!

Amazing property and accomodations! The grassy plains site we stayed in was plenty of space for our group, lots of privacy, and easy access to the bathrooms and a short walk to the river, we loved it! The trees surrounding the site provides great shade on a hot summer day. Also T made it a point to offer help with anything we needed to make sure we were taken care of! Beautiful views in every direction! We will definitely be back again!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience in the Sappy Hollow site at Mt. Index Sanctuary. Complete privacy (the second campsite was vacant during our stay, but it was far enough down the road that you'd have a sense of privacy in any case), all the amenities were in excellent or brand new condition, the port-o-potties were well maintained, there was a nearby sink with potable water we could use, and the river access was a pleasant 5 minute walk away. We also loved the "meadow" just adjacent to the campsite which provided a view of Mount Index and two picnic tables. I highly recommend this location and am sure we'll return to it in the future!

We loved our 4th of July camping trip! The campsite and private community felt very safe. Our dogs loved being off leash and playing in the river. The campsite was very clean with very minimal if any car traffic. T was very welcoming and willing to help if needed. I especially appreciated that there was a porta potty by the river and another one available right by our campsite. Would totally come back especially for the views!

Highly recommend! Travis has made a beautiful spot with thoughtful amenities. We spent an afternoon by the river, had campfires in his solo cans, and were able to easily walk to the trailhead to visit bridal veil falls. He was attentive and thorough. Some rain. Some mosquitoes. Just bring what you need. And binoculars as it is truly a bird sanctuary.

Such a lovely private camp spot! Views and river are incredible, and the care and thought that went into Sappy Hollow spot is definitely noticeable. The potable water and sink at the site was so so helpful and the restrooms were clean and we'll stocked. They even had doggy bags and a receptacle to put in waste! Travis checked in on us after quite a bit of rain on Saturday which was nice. Can't wait to see the growth and improvements he'll make to the space as it's fairly new. We will be back for sure!

Awesome camping spot. Very easy access to the river. The campsite was perfect for our group with a nice Solo stove, great spots for tents and plenty of parking. Beautiful views, close hikes, and the only sounds were a distant train and lots and lots of birds. The host was very friendly and available to answer questions. Highly recommend.

We recently stayed at the Sappy Hollow Campground at Mt. Index Sanctuary, and had a great stay! Travis is a wonderful host, was very welcoming, meeting us at the private gated community, showing us around the campground, and answering our questions.
The few campsites are clean, large and private, with a picnic table, fire pit, and nearby sink and porta potties. The campground is spacious, with open areas ideal for families with children, and it's a short walk to the scenic Skykomish River. It's conveniently located in Index, just a few miles off of Highway 2, and is close to many nearby popular hiking trails, our main reason for staying in the area! I highly recommend it!

Perfect location for hiking the many trails in the area. Nice secluded site with amenities like sink and potable water, toilets. Also offered a shelter should a storm arise. Quiet and pleasant, site large enough for multiple people without feeling crowded (and we had two cars). T, our host is friendly and very accommodating. He went over-and-above to help look for a billfold I'd lost. It shows they've put a lot of work into this labor of love. There's even an outdoor community area and river access with Mt Index towering above. Lovely!

Sappy Hollow was such an awesome place to camp! Travis was responsive and attentive the whole time. He had extra wood for our firepit as well. We're hoping to make this an annual trip. I 100% recommend this place if you're looking for some great tent camping.

The campsite was clean and secluded. We had everything we needed including emergency shelter if storms were to roll through. The outhouse was exceptionally clean. There was running water in case you need to clean anything or wash hands, just bring soap. Past the trees next to our campsite was a gorgeous view of Mt. Index. If hiking is your thing, there are trails nearby that are 10 min drive tops! T was communicative and friendly. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back!

It is a perfect little getaway spot, with spectacular views, and river access (ideal for playing and cooling down as the water slows down. We found clay to play with, rocks, and sand too!) T provided some wagons (probably to haul firewood) that were a perfect toy for our kids and a vehicle to transfer beach toys to the river. T was attentive, ensuring we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. The town of Index is just a few minutes drive away, so are the most amazing local hikes and the "Espresso Chalet". We will be back for sure!

The Sappy hollow at Mt. Index sanctuary exceeded our expectations and by far one of our favorite spots on Hipcamp. Travis our host has done a great job with this place that makes feel like you are pitching a tent deep in the woods, yet still have great amenities like a portable toilet that was very clean, access to potable water, a short walk to river access and a gazebo with a super nice grill where we were able to share a meal and our dog was able to run around in the enclosed area. All in all, the reason we are coming back, is, because Travis made the process very easy and was always ver attentive without interrupting our stay.
