Was a little nervous with the rocky drive in and finding a spot to stake down the tent was a bit of a challenge but the views are worth it! The beautiful wildflowers, shaded swing, light breeze, glowing sunset and clear skies to see the stars were highlights of this trip!

Van camping spot with a beautiful view, well worth the drive from the city. End of April was a perfect time to see the wildflowers. We lucked out with sunny skies, but should have taken wind gusts into account—makes for difficult outdoor cooking and campfires. However, when the winds stopped, it was the most peaceful experience.

We loved our stay at Earthlight! Almost every angle had a beautiful view of the mountains and valleys. We will highly recommend this site to others. We have a very reactive dog and this site was perfect for her. No other noises or animals around (minus the occasional bird or two, which she’s fine with) it was fun watching her truly relaxed for a few days. Great place to disconnect and enjoy the beauty.

This has been one of my fav. Spots I've found on here. The road getting to the spot is not great be warned (I drive a rav4 with all terrain tires) BUT it's worth it! Just go slow and you'll be OK. Beautiful sunset and gorgeous views all around. Loved it!

First camping trip of the year and this spot did not disappoint. The sky was clear the first night and the sky was lit up with the moon and stars. ✨ I will definitely camp here again.. the views were unbeatable and the swing was a nice touch. 🏕️

We loved camping at Earthlight 1 and hope to visit again! Beautiful, quiet, and clean site with absolutely INCREDIBLE views. We cooked our dinners overlooking the sunset and just couldn’t get enough of the changing colors.

Such a sweet spot. It’s perched right on the edge of a mountain overlooking what feels like the rest of the world.. The tree swing is a cute touch but really it’s just peace and quiet.. unfortunately for us, it was yellow jacket season and we shared the site with hundreds of them.. and the ground keepers / weed wackers started working at 7am on the dot each morning.. but besides that… it truly is a one of a kind place. Since there is no outhouse or dedicated area for relief… there are many droppings and TP kinda scattered throughout the area so watch where you step!
We will 100% be returning in fall to see that view again 😌

Mixed bag for us on this site. Literally everything about the site is exactly as described BUT we got swarmed by yellow jackets literally as soon as we arrived. They were absolutely relentless even though we came prepared with vinegar spray & citronella candles. It was a total battle against them from when we arrived until sundown when they retreated back to their hive. The view and overall site were fantastic but whoever camped there before us clearly didn't leave a very tidy campground because those things were all over the ground looking for a meal & flying all around overhead as we were trying to set up and enjoy ourselves.

What a unique campsite! Very private and off the beaten path. The sunrise and sunset views are beautiful. Directly across the river from Entiat city Park at an elevation that brings a nice breeze and cool air in the evening. In July, it definitely is hot, would not recommend camping here without a rig with AC, as there is not much if anything in the way of shade and the site is hard packed gravel. The tree swing and the wind whistling through the two trees close to the site was an added bonus. Keep in mind that this site is difficult for some vehicles to reach, we passed a BMW on our way out with a flat tire from rocks on the gravel road. Low clearance and low profile tires are not a good choice for this site! When eating outside, be prepared to fend off the hornets which seem attracted to any bit of food or water.
Overall, a very unique and memorable campsite, would definitely recommend.

We loved everything about this spot. The bumpy trek from the highway through the wheat fields, the expansive views, and the private space where our pups could relax and explore off-leash. Our favorite Hipcamp to date without a doubt. Go while it’s still a Hipcamp and not a homesite. Thank you for sharing this special place.

So many stars! Our only regret was that we were only passing through and didn’t have has much time there as we would have liked. It was crazy windy when we arrived. The wind died down over the night. When I went to take the dogs for a 3 am potty break I saw the most amazing night sky I believe I ever seen while camping! The views are definitely as promising as is advertised.
We will book again when we can spend some more time there.

Earthlight is located in a remote hilly spot with a stunning view of the Columbia River below. We stayed during the middle of the week, and were awakened each morning by heavy earth-moving equipment directly uphill from the camp spot, and it went on all day daily. Except during the thunderstorm and when wind gusts peaked at 20-25 mph. Be sure to stake tents firmly in the rocky surface and watch the weather forecast. Overall, the sheer remote harsh beauty, the tree swing, and the visiting raven made the adventure memorable and worthwhile. Not an ideal tent-camping for flimsy canopies, or unattended items that may sail away, when winds pick up.

The view from this campground was like nothing we had ever experienced! Unbelievable and very private. There is a small cabin uphill from the campsite, but other than that, no one can see the site. It was very VERY windy for the first night, so make sure your tent is firmly staked down! The ground is hard rocks so it was challenging to get all our stakes in (my husband used the back of an axe and finally accomplished this task). A picnic table would be a great addition to the site. We had a wonderful time and would go back!

Earthlight 1 was a SPECTACULAR private camp site. There are the backs of 3 villas you can see (very far away) if you stand at the edge of the campsite, and there is one cabin on the hill above, but again is very far away. There were a couple cars and bikes on the main gravel road over the 24 hours we were there, but it really wasn't disruptive, because they were nowhere near our site. The site was peaceful, relaxing, with gorgeous views and it was an amazing experience. Even though the site is off the beaten path, it was easy to find and navigate to. The wind is strong! But it honestly provided good relief from the sun. We weren't able to get stakes into the ground for the tent or canopy, so bringing weights or rope to tie to rocks can be helpful! Would absolutley recommend again and again!
We also saw lizards and birds and deer and crickets enjoying the space with us!

Amazing.
But, I seriously hope no one goes here because it’s too great, too perfect, too clean, too remote and too serene.
We had to pick up a little trash from previous occupants (BAD HUMANS!! Bad!!)
But it’s an absolute gem and if you can find it and are lucky enough to stay here, please care for it as it deserves.

The views at this campsite are absolutely stunning! The site was not as private as we expected based on the description (it’s in view of a couple small homes/vacation rentals and there were occasional cars and people on the dirt road going past the site). Despite this, it was still far enough away from other people to feel fairly private and the view was unbeatable. The first night we were there was very windy and COLD - since the site is on a hill it’s not protected from the elements at all, so dress accordingly!

Come to Hans’s land when you are tired of city noise. We heard only birds and wind during the whole trip. The road to get there was a sandy shower for our trailer and car but it is durable and totally worth it! And the most surprising thing we got was there is 5G for T-mobile!!! I know I know we were supposed to enjoy the nature but it is fun when you get some tech break :p We would recommend this place for anyone who wants a nature no other human surrounding. We enjoyed it!

Definitely an amazing spot to set up camp for a few day, It was decently secluded and nobody came over and bother us. The views are amazing, as a psa don’t forget that eastern Washington does have ticks, we found a few on the tent but had no issues after using a bug spray with 40% deet. 10/10 spot, good communication with Hans about getting there.

The views are beautiful, but the campsite is really exposed to the elements and neighbors. It's not as private as we thought, and the neighbors near the campsite had construction going the day we got there. The noise was unpleasant and the workers were watching us. It was a bit unnerving. They worked all day and we didn't get to really soak in the location. It looks like the construction will be going on for quite awhile this year since they were digging with an excavator and were moving construction materials from just below the campsite to the neighbors house. If you plan to be there during this spring/summer, just be aware that construction is happening and it's noisy. Overall, it's a nice spot for a beautiful view.

The site was in a beautiful location, nice overlook. There was quite a bit of toilet paper/wet wipes, where people previously couldn’t be bothered to use a trash bag. Not the hosts fault, but definitely worth noting. Also, several people came through our site on one day, each saying “Hans said it was okay,” but we never heard from the host about it. People took pictures and selfies and things then left. It was just a bit odd, as we weren’t really prepared for visitors. All in all, pretty nice site. Probably could find similar nearby on a public road. Would definitely be interested in villas down below.

EarthLight1 has amazing views. Hans was very communicative and helpful. Received directions via Waze, no problem finding the campsite. Beautiful view of the mountains and Columbia river. We will definitely return to this site when it gets warmer.
