Beautiful spot! A magical little forest retreat. The river can be heard from the site for a peaceful nights sleep. The A-frames were wonderful rustic little shelters that provided some creature comforts in an otherwise off-grid experience.
We also very much appreciated the proactive and thorough communication from Erik about changes in property access due to an unforeseen bridge outage and potential safety issues.

Cascade River Escape
Really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was cozy, water and river access were super convenient, and the toilet was clean. Check-in was easy, felt totally safe, and the community vibe was great.

Very nicely designed outdoor space and good location, close to North Cascades Park! It’s located in a community with a bathroom and community river access.
Eric was a good communicator. Highly recommended!

Very easy check-in process and Cascade River Community Club is a great little spot! Erik was very responsive when I had an questions and was easy to access through the Hipcamp app. It was so nice to have a comfy, dry mattress to sleep on at the end of our long hiking day and the firepit was key - so nice!

Cascade River Escape
Erik’s place was great. We loved the giant firepit and our son also really loved the swings! We also enjoyed exploring on our mountain bikes throughout the community. The directions and check-in process were very easy to follow and added to an overall great camping trip and site.

The property was exactly as described. The shelters kept us dry throughout the night and with a good sleeping bag we stayed warm without much effort. The gated community the property sits on is unique and quiet except for the beautiful sound of the river. Located 1 HR and 17 MINS from the Maple pass loop the location was perfect. The two restaurants in town are great to grab a bite to eat and have anything you would need for camping in case you forgot. This property provided us with an amazing experience and we are forever grateful.

This Hip Camp was an awesome getaway! Beautiful nature! Eric was very helpful and responded immediately when we did not follow proper instructions on how to enter. Property was so beautiful. Great tent camping on the deck. Amazing river across the way! We brought our own drinking water, but water for washing was there. No bathroom on sight, but there is a nice bathroom a walk or short drive away at community park. Highly recommend!

Everything was as advertised. The place was kept nice. There is a community park with flush toilets and sinks. Erik was always quick to message back and answer any of my questions.

Great area, location and nice setup. I would only recommend sealing the huts a little better. There are ALOT of holes in the small hut and large gaps for mosquitos, spiders and other critters to come in all night.

This was such a wonderful camping experience for me, my husband & our 3 dogs! The location was gorgeous and Erik made it super easy to locate and get there with his directions. North Cascades was just a short drive away. Our site was just walking distance to the river also. He also provided everything you needed(chairs, table, firewood, sheets, mattress etc.). Was such a peaceful relaxing area and we truly enjoyed our stay! Def recommend!😊

Loved our stay at Erik's campsite! Was a great home base for some really amazing hikes in the North Cascades, and even though there was a fire ban during our stay, simply sitting outside and listening to the river was relaxing enough. Erik provided great instructions for getting to the site, and the bathrooms were a short stroll away, although you might want to drive if nature calls in the middle of the night. The community was charming, and a couple of great restaurants were a quick drive down the street. Would definitely recommend.

Easy to find, clear direction and nice quiet camp site. The fire pit is wonderful! Having chairs available is a huge bonus, along with running water and a shower! The swing set with a mister is a fantastic idea, just wish it were hotter so we could have enjoyed it, but the fact it’s available is great. Very close to all things North Cascades related and extremely short drive into town for any potential supplies.

Pretty much exactly what we expected.
One thing that could have gone better is that there were no directions to the place when we got inside the gated complex (which is quite large). Id recommend that the owner just somehow post the PDF that should have been in the lock box on the listing so it’s accessible.
Another thing that could have been better is the air mattress wasn’t blown up, so we just opted for the mattress topper like mattress in the other cabin which was fine but air mattress would have been a bit nicer.

Our family had a great time at Eric’s campsite! However, there are a few things I wish I would have know ahead of time, maybe this will help another family.
-It is inside a gated community
-You are very close to your “neighbor” (we heard and saw them)
-Some of the sites are truly beautiful, some are very run down
-Bathrooms are well kept, running water, and a short drive away, but not walkable
-River is not within walking distance with kids (half mile one way)
-Eric provided a lot of really useful things: 5 lawn chairs, a mattress, firewood, folding table, lawn game, grill
-The gas station where you get the keys is well stocked with anything you might need
-The sleeping sheds are sturdy, but not completely enclosed. The larger one is open under the eaves, which resulted in some mosquitoes at night
-Doors on sheds are pretty wonky and required adult help to get in and out of
-The fire pit is awesome
-There is an outside shower connected to a hose coming from a pump
-There was a sink sitting on top of a fallen log, but connection wasn’t set up to the hose
-There was a dog tether provided
Overall we had a good time, but for $90 a night we were expecting a bit more upkeep and “amenities”, or maybe a little more privacy. In essence it’s a campsite with two sheds for sleeping.

The site is awesome! Great deck, fire pit and cabins. The Host was great as well, extremely helpful and communicative. He even arranged to have a second key put in the lockbox for the other part of our group.
We were able to park one 32’ and one 29’ travel trailer and 4 door trucks at the bottom in case anyone is looking to bring their trailer.
There is little to no cell service (which was great!) but plan accordingly if you need to give directions, meet people, etc…

Erik’s place is so amazing! It definitely overdelivered. We couldn’t stop raving about it. He has included so many unique touches to the property including a scavenger hunt of little critters which our daughter loved. She also loved the swing! We would highly recommend this to anyone. The park is very quiet and peaceful!
