Great views and close to Valley of the Gods. Be sure to take your high clearance vehicle down to the river where it looks like the future Grand Canyon is forming.

I loved dry camping at Mexican Hat Rocks! What a gorgeous site! The individual campsites are well-marked. It appeared an access gate was being installed during our stay, which is good. Several cars pulled off beyond the large area next to the road and drove into the campground to park in the roads and empty campsites to take photos. That's an issue the access gate will solve. Fantastic experience overall!

Climbing to the top of the Mexican Hat for sunset was such an awesome experience and gave amazing views. Only critisism is that the campsite is pretty close to the highway.

It was relaxing and peaceful. Little bit of traffic with people taking pictures and thought maybe a designated photo spot would help with that rather than driving around near the campers, but loved the place.

I loved camping on Sarah's land had a camper van came in after dark easy to find and lots of space you can see so many stars in the night sky then when morning came and BAM!!!! The Mexican Hat was right in your face less than a .25 miles away so awesome!!!

Easy in, easy out. We took the area very near the entrance. Lots of people in/out for photos of the “hat” but all were respectful of our space. We drove down further after unhooking to see what other spots looked like. We are a 40’ 5-er; others might have worked but maneuverability would have been tight. Our spot was ideal and easy leveling. The road in and out is certainly no worse than many boondocking spots. Just, as usual, take it slow. Beautiful spot, thanks to

Die Landschaft war sehr schön. Wir waren alleine auf dem Platz. Der Preis war hoch genug für einen leeren Parkplatz ohne Leistungen (Wasser, WC, etc).

We had a fantastic time! Was nice to be able to have a fire, ride our bikes and chat with others.
Stayed on a weekday so traffic was minimal.

Very basic, essentially just parking space. If I were in the area again, would stay at nearby Gooseneck State Park. Less expensive, had vault toilets, picnic tables, fire pit, trash bins and less expensive.

Absolutely bad ass place to camp. Many spots to choose from, if it's dry and you have the right vehicle, there are a bunch of great sites along the river that offer a little more privacy. Take the first right at the fork and drive around the hat for an easy access point if you want to climb to the top!

RV area was mostly level. Great for a quick overnight dry camping between National Parks and Monuments. Easy access for a Sprinter Van and Class C motor home. Mostly quiet you can hear a little highway noise and tourists coming to take pictures of the Mexican Hat.

Our experience was a bit of dismay after reading information on Mexican Hat that there are approximately 40 campsites, from what we found there may have been 15. The site we camped at was ok, it was extremely windy so lots of dust, we know that can't be helped. As darkness fell and the winds died the stars made it all worth it, WOW what a beautiful site to experience !

It was a fabulous space to camp - it had incredible views, there was no one around us, and we were able to enjoy a couple nights down at Mexican Hat, along our multi-state roadtrip! The first night, we got to camp around sunset and found a spot in front of Mexican Hat, which was perfect for the night. However, we didn’t realize that there was a road to the left that went behind Mexican Hat with even more incredible camping areas - so, our advice to you is to stay left and find a quiet and secluded place down by the water, with views of the skyline and Mexican Hat!
