Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.

You never know what you may see as you walk through the brush at Rancho Lomitas. Sometimes it is something rare, like indigo snakes breeding. Other times it is a tiny wonder, such as velvet mites coming out after a summer rain. Benito and Toni have always sought to provide opportunities for others to come to Rancho Lomitas to experience what the native brush of Starr County has to offer. Towards that end, we have six one-bedroom vacation rentals and one two-bedroom vacation rental which we call Las Casitas. Although we will be adding bits and pieces over the years, the casitas are comfortably furnished including fully stocked kitchens. All you have to bring is your favorite food and drink! The casitas are perfect for nature photographers, Winter Texans, people visiting Starr County on temporary job assignments, hunters who are looking for a little more comfort than the deer lease might provide, and people who just want to get out in the brush.

Altamira Room

The Altamira Room (Room #1) is an end room in one of our buildings. It is a great room for birdwatchers as you can watch birds right from your window as you have coffee in the morning. The Altamira Room has a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen pullout sofa in the living room. There are televisions in both the bedroom and living room. There is a fully stocked kitchen.

The Audubon Room (Room #4) is an end room in one of our buildings and is closed to the parking lot. It is a great room for birdwatchers as you can watch birds right from your window as you have coffee in the morning. The Audubon Room has a queen bed in the bedroom and a full pullout sofa in the living room. There are televisions in both the bedroom and living room. There is a fully stocked kitchen.

Elf Owl Room

The Elf Owl Room (Room #7) is an end room in one of our buildings. Although not one of our best rooms for birdwatching, you can still see plenty of birds from your window as you have coffee in the morning or you can go sit outside on one of the benches for a better view of the birds. The room also has a back door that opens onto the parking lot. It is our best room for folks who may be mobility challenged as it has a large bathroom with a roll-in shower that is equipped with a fold down seat and a hand-held shower wand. Both the kitchen and bathroom sinks can accommodate a wheelchair. The Elf Owl Room has a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen pullout sofa in the living room. There are televisions in both the bedroom and living room. There is a fully stocked kitchen.

Green Jay Room

The Green Jay Room (Room #5) is an end room in one of our buildings and is closest to the parking lot. It is a great room for birdwatchers as you can watch birds right from your window as you have coffee in the morning. The Green Jay Room is our only two bedroom unit. It has a queen bed in one bedroom and a twin bed in the second bedroom. The second bedroom also has a twin pullout chair that is suitable for a child. There are televisions in both bedrooms and in the living room. There is a fully stocked kitchen.

Paisano Room

The Paisano Room (Room #6) is our only room with a King bed and has a back door that opens onto the parking lot. Although not one of our best rooms for birdwatching, you can still see lots of birds from your window as you have coffee or you can sit outside on one of the benches and get a better view. The Paisano Room has a California king bed in the bedroom and a queen pullout sofa in the living room. There are televisions in both the bedroom and living room. There is a fully stocked kitchen.
