Unplug, unwind, and connect with nature like never before! WHAT TO EXPECT Pitch your tent or park your RV on our tree-shaded campsites, surrounded by the sounds of native wildlife. Enjoy privacy with the thrill of being near our animal residents. Expect parrot calls and rustling critters as you relax under starry skies. Amenities include clean outdoor bathroom and shower, picnic tables, and walking trails. Bring drinking water; fresh water is available for other needs. Our off-grid, primitive sites do not have hookups or Wi-Fi—just pure nature! WHAT TO SEE AND DO Night Night Peanut Tours: Feed tortoises, parrots, and Louie during this guided, interactive tour. Book ahead required—spots are limited! Wildlife & Trails: Stroll scenic paths, spot native birds, and learn about our conservation mission. Perfect for photography! Stargazing: Clear Texas skies dazzle at night—ideal for campfires and constellation spotting. Education: Chat with staff about our work to protect non-releasable animals and sustain habitats. NEARBY FUN South Padre Island Beach (27 miles): Soak up sun, swim in warm Gulf waters, or try dolphin-watching at this stunning coastal gem. Gladys Porter Zoo (22 miles): Meet over 1,600 animals from around the world at this renowned Brownsville zoo, perfect for family outings.
