I loved the Tipi camping! The property is beautiful and feels safe! Super cute cat named scout who will play and cuddle! The kitchen was close by and only downside was there was rat poop on the grill and stove and shelves but usable if cleaned! Would definitely come again!

Teepee in the high desert

This is a fantastic spot just outside of Bend. The teepee is cozy, it comes with a cot and some air mattresses (pretty comfortable). Sandy provided a couple of electric lanterns that were just enough light for inside and hooked up a full tank of propane in case I needed to use the fire pit. This is definitely a spot I would visit again.

Sandy & Tim’s spot was a great place to stop on our way to the coast! Our site had a nice flat spot for the tent and we had the place to ourselves so it was really quiet. The bathroom is spotless (yes, it’s a porta potty but it was really clean and had a shelter over it and a handwashing station right outside). Everything is very well thought out- there’s even a communal cooking area and a platform for yoga in the community space. Very cool spot!

Sandy & Tim's communication was smooth and clear, and the site was well maintained. The tipi itself was very cool, and a friendly cat appeared out of nowhere and joined us for a little while which was nice. I'd highly recommend staying here!

Tipi under the stars

The Perfect Respite

After a long drive, this was the perfect little respite! The atmosphere at the camp was so welcoming and the hosts were so responsive and accommodating. All the sites were lovely. I took a walk around the gravel loop before turning in for the night, taking in the natural beauty of the property and the setting sun. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful camp spot

The Ghost Tree camp spot at Sage Ridge was my first Hipcamp experience and I could give it 5 stars. The hosts were very responsive and provided great directions to the location (which can be tricky to find in the dark, so you need to pay close attention!) The camp sites are well maintained, and the port-a-potty and camp kitchen are welcome amenities. The morning views of the property were beautiful. We were not bothered at all by the highway white noise as others have described. We will definitely return to this location next time we are in Bend!

Quail Run

I was hoping for a safe, easy, affordable, no frills spot to park for the night to star/meteor gaze and this fit the bill perfectly! The property is clean and well laid out. I didn't need the kitchen area but imagine that could be handy for multiple night stays. The porta-pottie was clean, too. I did go for a hike up Horse Ridge as the trailhead is behind the property on Old 20 Hwy.

Night Sky is everything

This was our second time staying at Sage Ridge with Sandy & Tim. As with last time they are the most gracious hosts, and are such kind people. The land is breathtaking. The junipers are a perfect introduction to the Oregon Outback. The sky though?? The sky is why we come out. The Perseid Meteor Shower is the highlight of our year, and the night sky is pristine. The shots I took of the cosmos are beautiful. It’s unfathomable that a place as dark as Sage Ridge is ~25 minutes from Bend. That convenience is bonkers. We highly recommend staying in ANY of their sites. We stayed in the Island site last year, and this year decided to utilize the Tipi on Coyote Hill site. So worth it. The tipi is comfortable, and fits four people Easily. We brought our tent just in case, but didn’t need at once, (obviously). Thank you so much Tim & Sandy for being amazing hosts, and for the recommendation of some Cascade Lakes to chill at during the blisteringly hot days.

Great Tipi for a reasonable price!

What a wonderful little camp ground! I loved staying in the Tipi. It was practical and supeer cute! Although I brought my own queen air mattress. They do provide two nice sleeping pads and a one cot. It was a great for a place to sleep after a concert at Hayden home Amphitheater. And its only about 25mins for downtown Bend.

We chose to stay here for star gazing. It was great!!! The site was very well maintained & was nice. The sun shade came in handy on the hot afternoon. Bonus:: their cat came to visit me at night & in the morning while we were packing up. Made my day!!

Pretty much what I had expected! The road was a little challenging to find! Quiet and the night sky is amazing. The ground is a bit dusty so my suggestion is to bring some slip on shoes to keep the dirt from getting in. I thought the trip from Bend would bother me but really it’s not too bad! Would do it again and probably will.

I REALLY enjoyed my stay here. Though it was a little drive out of town, it was an easy straight shot and gorgeous terrain. You could hear a bit of highway noise but I slept GREAT! The strawberry full moon was glorious and the star gazing ans bird watching was amazing. I felt safe as a solo lady traveler. I spent several hours each day doing yoga, laying in my hammock reading and listening to music. The cute little camp cat made an appearance to get some loving too. Portapotty was clean and hand washing station was nice to have. Propane was empty in the camp kitchen and that is the only thing I forgot so I picked some up in town for my small boiler. Remedied that for the next morning. Would definitely come back here again! Thanks for sharing your space with me!

Sage Ridge was an amazing place to camp. It was right off the highway, while still feeling quiet and remote. Easy access to Bend and an all around great stay. The campground had everything you could need, fire pits, firewood, a cute community area, a friendly camp kitty, and a clean toilet. But, the best part were the hosts, Tim and Sandy. These people are salt of the earth people!! We woke up to a dead van battery and were unable to get anywhere. Tim and Sandy stopped what they were doing to help us out. This included bringing their generator down and trying to get the van batteries up and running. He even made coffee for us while we waited. When the generator didn't work, Tim helped us get the batteries out and drove us into town to buy new ones. He then helped replace them. All in all, it took the entire morning and Tim put on hold whatever he had to get done to help us out and get us back on the road. Truly, truly appreciated the time and lending hand. If you are ever looking for camping near Bend, look no further! We will certainly be back if ever in the area.
