We live on 5 acres outside Redmond, OR. Most of the property is in its natural state with High desert vegetation and deer often seen roaming around. We have replaced a large portion of lawn with a wonderful rock design garden. We also have an area recently planted with native edible plants (happy to share the knowledge and bounty). We have bikes to share and guided bike rides which may include a trip to Smith Rock State park, only 3 miles from our home. With all that, you might want to get a pizza or sushi in Redmond, only 5 miles away. Come meet our dogs and chickens.The site is situated among juniper trees, sage brush and rabbit bush. The property is fully fenced and owners are on site for any questions. There is a flush toilet and fresh water available. We also have power if needed. Friendly dogs are welcome and can be off leash on property and in the undeveloped county land just a block away. We have two dogs to entertain the furry travelers too. Bicycles and canoes are available and lakes and rivers are just a short drive away. Smith Rock State Park is visible from the site and just 3 miles away.

Awesome Camping Near Smith Rock

Shelly and Mike were fantastic hosts. They were both so kind. If you’re bringing a dog, be sure your dog is good with other dogs because their two dogs will be around. The camping spot was perfect with so much firewood. We also had access to Mike’s workshop bathroom, which was handy for the obvious, but also for filling our water jugs before a day of hiking.

Festival weekend camping

We were in town for a festival so it was a perfect place to crash each night. About 7.5 from the fair grounds where the festival was located. Easy to get in and out. Very Quiet and felt safe! Wish we had more time to hang out at the property! Shelly and Mike were so helpful and greeted us with open arms!

Camping near Radlands MTB trails

Easy access, super hospitable hosts (and canine assistant hosts :-). Shelley checked us in and showed us around. Mike brought wood for the fire pit and was happy to share info on the area. Site is open and flat so was able to easily park both rigs and be level. Garbage receptacle was at the site; water and bathroom a short walk away. Enjoyed the quiet and being able to ride to bike trails. Will stay again when coming to the Redmond area.

Camping near Smith Rock

My boyfriend and I loved camping on Shelly’s land. Upon our arrival, Shelly and her partner welcomed us onto their safe and gated property. We were able to choose our spot and they provided us with a fire ring and firewood. The hosts were very friendly, but also respectful of our space. Their dogs were adorable and well behaved. The property is about 10 minutes from Smith Rock a state Park and 30 minutes from downtown Bend and the perfect place to set up camp. The bathroom in their detached garage was very clean in convenient. Shelly and Mike gave us recommendations for hiking and dining nearby and even invited us to dinner. We hope to return to their Hipcamp eventually and could not recommend it more!
