Great for cyclists
This was a great place for a cyclist to stop and camp! Antelope is a quiet and peaceful community (quieter than Shaniko which is next to hwy 97). This campground had a faucet and sink, port-a-john, snack and drink fridge, electrical outlets, and plenty of room for tents. Highly recommended for cyclists and other people passing through.

Tent site
The land was really nice and it was convenient having a porta potty on site and water. We came a bit later at night so it was a little difficult finding the location as there weren’t any lights around so we couldn’t find the sign for the camp in the dark however we found the red chairs that were set up on the land. Overall it was a very quiet area to rest for the night.

We loved staying at Brandie and Larry’s place in Antelope! It was a perfect fit for what we needed: close to the put-in for John Day River. Walking around Antelope in the evening and morning was nice!
Look forward to checking it out again as they make progress.
