Fantastic relaxing campground
Had a lovely 2 nights at Jila. The property is well maintained with rubbish bins, toilets, a bin for recycling bottles which go the charity “Beyond Blue”
The river was great for the kids to paddle around and also deeper areas for a good dunking swim. There are paddle kayak’s and float equipment which is accessible for use with a gold coin donation.
Lots of sites for us to choose from and Mark the property manager was very helpful, made sure we were ok for firewood and when my car battery died, he didn’t hesitate to help me out with a jumpstart and gave me good advice for the car in the future.
Jila is a lovely campground and being there you feel so far away from anywhere, however Richmond is only a 10 minute drive away if you need supplies

Definitely a place to stay
This place was amazing. Open space, a lot of sites. Beautiful views. Access down to the water to go swimming. High light for my kids was roasting marshmellows on the fire. I have 19” van and was easy to get in/out of camp site. 100% would recommend. One of our highlights of our 4 week trip

Nice but not for everyone
Good host and facilities. However the large group camping next to us selfishly kept the kids awake until 3am. Carrying on about things that probably could have waited until the next day. No one came to assist, kids didn't sleep well.

Awesome place to stay for 1-2 days, kids love it. Toilet is super clean. What a shame we only stayed for one night this time due to my son was sick, definitely will be back in the future.

Philips has always been great host. Beside hosting, the place itself is absolutely mesmerising .. always love to go back to this place and highly recommended.Philips keep great care of his property and make sure campers gets facilities he promised.

First camping trip
This was our first camping trip and it was great! The kids loved swimming and kayaking in the river. Toilets were clean. It’s a great getaway from Sydney.
The dirt road in and out is steep and we weren’t sure we would get out as we were not in a 4WD but we made it. Beautiful spot, can’t wait to come back!

The river was amazing. Loved the shallow parts so the young kids could play in the water for hours. We had pleanty of room and it was very welcoming to bring our dog. Loved how shaded it was and just a really beautiful spot.

Great spot if you’re Will to pay the money. Access to water for swimming and had access to floaties. Not too many campers, well spread out. Toilets were clean and access to firewood.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jila (aside from the weather). The facilities were extremely well maintained and clean, the welcome reception and advise was friendly and the river was perfect for swimming and paddling. We will certainly be back for another visit!

Great river getaway
We had a great couple of days tent camping next to the river. Everything we needed, nothing that we didn’t.
Lucky to have firewood on hand.
Only two campsites used the whole time we were there!

Great campground. Very accessible and easy to find. Love that they provide fire wood. The host was very accomodating, made sure everything was in order. There were some rowdy campers who were very loud in the middle of the night but host sorted it out straightaway. Would definitely go back.
Only issue for us: almost 0 network coverage. Luckily we have 5G booster. Might not be an issue for some who want to go offgrid.

Great experience.
A secluded spot with a lot of space for camping. A beautiful river to swim in as well. The road in/out is steep, but got our camping trailer in and out with a 4WD with ease. Fire wood supplied for camp fires, flushable and clean toilets, rubbish points and hire of inflatables/kayaks/equipment for a gold coin donation to Beyond Blue. Dogs allowed, lots of fun and space for games like cricket and frisbee, but the river was the highlight!

A bit underwhelming to be honest. For the cost I’d love to see slightly improved facilities, such as a tidier portaloo with a water hookup to push the waste down. Way more campers then what I remember advertised. A better path to the river would also be ace instead of climbing over a wire fence. On the positives the natural surrounds are beautiful and no rubbish left out, amble firewood, sound of the kookaburras amazing, river a great spot to splash in. Love that donations are all made to Beyond Blue.

Overall this is a good site. Great little river, plenty of room with a bush setting and the host was great. Our only ‘but’ is the price. For what we paid, you’d really want full amenities with drinking water. This trip was planned at the last minute so we needed somewhere close by and we were aware of what facilities they did have. I will mention that the portaloos were the cleanest I have never came across!

Amazing location, relaxing by the river. Great for walking and sitting by the fire at night ! Our dog also enjoyed the space. Handy to have toilets, but they are port a loo's. Dirt road was tricky getting our Odessey out to come home. Perfect for a little 3 night get away to relax and take in nature !

Great river frontage anbd beautiful tall gums.
The services were simple but all you need with clean flushing toilets. A really easy drive from The city for a quick night out in nature. Easy to make a fire and excellent to have the dog with us. Service was great on arrival too.

Jila camp ground was great, beautiful open area.
We had 2 awesome nights.
We camped up on the hill, short walk to the river.
River is running nicely, shallow but not hard to find a deeper areas to sit and relax, great for young kids (being watched closely by parents)
Toilets in top condition, 2 main toilets down the bottom and porta loos scattered round the camp area.
Mark kept firewood up to everyone, running a load down everyday to his freshly made storage area.
Cheers for the great time guys, we will definitely be back 👍👍

Small, but Fantastic river

(Checked using snorkel gear first)
(Only saw one big fish- so didn’t fish, would be a shame to catch it )

Booked at the last minute for a 2-day camp out with my son. Easy to find and 1.5 hours from Sydney so it worked perfectly for us. Camp grounds clean and sites close to the river. Toilets clean and convenient to tents. Swimming in Grose River was great, a few spots where it was deep enough to cover your entire body but mostly knee to waist high deep.
We had a great time and even managed 9 holes of golf on the second day. Will definitely recommend to anyone wishing a quick getaway that’s not too far from Sydney.
