UNLESS our local fire department says “No burning today” AND we (the hosts) have obtained fire permission from them for that day, you can use our rustic fire pit, also within reach of hose. BYO grill and utensils.

We had a great visit at Shaded Gardens. Brenna is a wonderful host welcoming us upon arrival with smiles and great talk. A wonderful lawn in back yard to setup camp. Before that though you are welcomed by some wonderful gardens. It's on my favorites list for a future visit.

This was my second stay at Brenna's and it was just as wonderful as the first! There were more flowers out in the garden this time too, which was lovely. Four of us camped on a Friday night to escape the city and enjoy a campfire, s'mores, and the starry night sky.

Bike and bivvy from Boston
Shaded Gardens
I made a very last minute decision to escape Boston on a warm weekend in March to bivvy in Brenna's garden. I arrived by bike late after a couple of flat tires slowed my progress. Brenna (and her dogs!) were super welcoming and I was greeted by a fabulous huge campfire and a great quiet spot at the end of the garden to camp out for the night. It was the perfect mini escape!

Brenna greeted us when we pulled in and got us all parked and situated. She gave us a tour of her backyard, which is a bit narrow (you can see all the neighbor's houses and hear things like people mowing, traffic, and general sounds of a suburb), and showed us the multiple places to pitch a tent. There's also a communal fire pit, a disc golf basket, and plenty of beautiful planted gardens to enjoy. Right across the street is a farm market, where we were able to stock up on awesome seasonal squash and pumpkins! If you're a looking for a remote campsite in the woods, this isn't it. But this has great access, is easy to drive to, and is a great little camping getaway right in the comfortable suburbs.
