The host met us at the gate and was very friendly and accommodating. Since the location wasn't full he gave us a choice of whatever site we liked. He stopped over and made sure we had everything very needed and gave us directions to the bike path. We very much enjoyed talking with him and would definitely stay again! Very secluded and quiet.

Site 10 - Mulehalla on the Potomac River
We made a reservation for a last minute weekend getaway. Great camp grounds, spots were large and private with a large fire ring and picnic table. A short walk to the towpath for a beautiful walk along the river. We were very grateful for the bathroom and cold water shower facilities after a lot of exploring. The proprietor came by in the evening to make sure everything was going great. Great spot only an hour or so from DC , definitely recommend! We will be back.

2nd stay at Mulehalla. Once again I was the only one staying at the camp. Super clean. Easy in and easy out. Will definitely stay again if in the area. Highly recommend staying here.

Mulehalla is the best! Plenty of things to do and see, well maintained property, bathroom and a shower too! I've stayed there twice now and plan on staying there again this spring!

Kevin is amazing, and his campsite is awesome! I had one of the best nights camping there and would highly recommend this place for a getaway. I stayed at campsite 11

I made a last minute reservation at Mulehallas. I was not disappointed!! I was fortunate to be the only one there. The place was wicked clean. The host stopped by and was really nice. Would definitely stay here again. Provably the cleanest port a potty I have seen.

This campsite was amazing. Motocamped with a Harley dyna, a shadow, and a chase truck. Property was pristine. Owner was super nice. Will definitely be camping here again. Wood was reasonably priced. Lot size was more than enough.

Nice spot, with good amenities and an easy walk to the Potomac river. The camp sites are pretty close to one another though so conversations in campsite 8 were definitely audible.

Was a little worried about the dogs barking in the neighboring properties when I arrived, but after dark they went inside and I heard nothing but crickets all night. Was just what I needed after spending 10 hours driving that day.

The land is quite nice with great access to the C and O canal for hiking. It was quiet and site #11 was private. It was great to have a real bathroom too.

The site was perfect after cycling the C&O canal tow path all day and with an expectation (and actual) rain. The yurt was roomy and kept everything dry. It was also very private and close to the bathrooms and pavilion.

This camp site was a perfect place to spend the night after a day cycling the C&O Canal tow path--not far off the trail and with plenty of space, bathrooms, and a pavilion that helped keep our stuff and us dry during the rain. We were there mid-week in September and had the place to ourselves.

I really enjoyed the experience of being able to camp in a place like this, feeling closer to nature. The night was rainy, very beautiful. Although the river is about a 20-minute walk away and there are no areas for swimming, it is more of an area for walking, biking and fishing. The staff was very friendly.

We arrived after dark, which wasn’t ideal, but we had a very hard time finding our campsite. There was almost no signage and no site map. Once we were settled and in bed, we had a hard time sleeping because of loud road noise- revving engines and loud motors, until after midnight, and barking dogs close by. When we got up in the morning we were able to see that the site is lovely, but the night was rough. Especially for women traveling alone or folks who feel vulnerable, you may not feel super safe at this campground.

Mulehalla is a great camp site. We had the place mostly to ourselves. Reserved Yuri and Site 11 because we came with a group of 8. Yuri was ok. Didn't really use it. Stayed on Site 11 instead. We pitched 5 tents and had room for more. Kids went fishing by the river. Firewood was $5 per bundle. Owner was cool. Overall a really great experience.

Site 11 - Mulehalla on the Potomac River
Our second time camping here. Can't say enough wonderful things about this camp! We stayed at site 11 this time which is the most private site.
We were able to string up our hammock, hang our large tarp creatively over the tent area and post a lil pop up tent over the picnic table. We lucked out with no rain this time but would have been prepared for a monsoon if needed!
The hosts are so wonderful and the closeness to the Potomac River is magical. It's amazing when it's cooking you outside and you have a cold spring and warm river to hang out at all day with tree coverage just a short walk away. Our pitty spends almost every hour of the day swimming in circles, happier than ever.
We're planning our third trip over for some motorcycle camping and leaving the doggos at home and we're so excited. It gives you a rural feel while being close to stores or restaurants if you need. Service is spotty at the campground and we don't usually get it again until the fourway stop (you'll know which one when you come and go) which we don't mind!
Always recommend Mulehalla! Thank you to Kevin, his son Z and wife Bernadette for your awesome hospitality. It's always so good to see you!

Clear directions and pretty large camp sites. A couple more private than others. Appreciated the flexibility when we arrived and found a private event nearest our reserved campsite. Easily contacted the owner and were able to switch to a different site.

A perfectly adequate camp ground
The campground is clean and well maintained, however, the onsite shower has no hot water, nor does it have the plumbing hooked up to have the capability of having hot water. While not a deal breaker, it wasn’t a pleasant discovery first thing in the morning. That would have been good to know up front to manage expectations.
Additionally, the owner mistook us for another set of campers and tried to make us move from our designated camp site after we were more than halfway through setting up, but said nothing to the other campers who blasted their music for two hours loud enough for the entire campground to hear, while their dog barked incessantly.

Would recommend 100%! The owner is caring and friendly, and the plot is airy, clean and beautiful with lots of trees for shade. There is a 'secret' access to the waterfront in a 5min walk which we gladly used to soak in the Potomac waters. Boat traffic there was very active, but there are multiple access points to some calmer (and shallower) waters down the river past the dam 4 (about 10min drive). And we were not bitten at all.
