Twilight Timber is a secluded forest haven tucked into the heart of Down East Maine. Despite its peaceful seclusion, Twilight Timber is conveniently located—just a 3-minute drive from the Otis Country Store for essentials and only 15 minutes from the heart of Ellsworth, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, and plenty of local charm. Just minutes away, the Green Lake National Fish Hatchery provides public access for launching kayaks and canoes, making it easy to explore the serene waters and spot local wildlife. Come autumn, Twilight Timber transforms into a vibrant canvas of color. Maine’s legendary fall foliage surrounds you in fiery reds, golden yellows, and deep oranges, while the cool, crisp evenings invite cozy campfires and warm layers. Whether you're chasing quiet mornings, starlit nights, or the magic of the changing seasons, Twilight Timber is your gateway to forest serenity. Please note: This is an off-grid experience. There is no Wi-Fi, electricity, or plumbing, but a non-potable water supply is available for washing and cleaning. Guests must bring their own portable toilet and be prepared to pack in and pack out responsibly. The property is still in the early stages of development.

Welcome to the Wheeky Pig campsite! Hi! I am 9 years old and I am the boss of this campsite. My mom let me make my very own site, and I get to set the price! I am saving up my money, so thank you for camping here. I really, really love guinea pigs. They are fluffy, they eat a lot of carrots, and when they get super happy, they jump in the air (it is called "popcorning"). Here is what you need to know about my camp: The Spot: It is a really great spot to put your tent, the ground is soft (just like guinea pig bedding!) The thet area can accommodate a 4 person rectangular tent. The ground is a little sloped. The fire pit is fairly close to the text area. Please keep the fire small or use the communal fire pit. The Rules: Please don't litter, be nice to the bugs, and make sure you have fun. Come stay at my camp! It will be a WHEEK-ing good time! (Wheek is the sound a guinea pig makes when it is hungry). Welcome to the Magical Hollow campsite! The Spot: It's a newly grassed area, approximately 30'x30'. It is not a drive in site, but a short walk from the parking area, like walking down a hotel hallway length. **Parking area under construction as of 7/30/26, so it doesn't look super pretty. A fire pit will be installed the first week of August 2026. There is a communal outhouse with a compost toilet on site, and a communal fire pit if you'd like to socialize if there happens to be other guests on the property. The Rules: Please don't litter, respect others, be nice to the bugs, and make sure you have fun.

Starlight is now a 116sq ft primitive cabin. There is a full sized mattress and a chair that can fold out into a cot. There is a large cooler (ice not included) inside the cabin, which can be wheeled outside to the porch. There is a compost toilet inside the cabin and the is also one outside. Currently, there is no shower.

Erin was a god send. After 24 hours of driving straight, Erin was there to welcome us to her HipCamp. Nice tent was set up for us to use. Outhouse was clean.

As of the date of this review (5/12/26) the location is clearly under construction to have multiple cabins put in for more of a glamping setup. Because of this, it is not currently ideal for tent camping. There is a lack of level ground, especially near the fire ring, & where there is level ground the soil is very sandy or made of fine gravel, which is very hard on tents.

We cannot thank Erin enough for allowing us to stay on her property during winter into mud season. Site was perfect for our trailer & surrounded by beautiful pines, nice & quiet. Nice lake views across the street & close to downtown Ellsworth. Erin was always prompt to reply & was very accommodating. Would recommend!

I only stayed 1 out of the 3 nights due to bthe bad weather but I highly recommened Erins land especially how close in proximity it is to the city of Ellsworth and Bar Harbor.

Had everything we needed. Ground was a bit uneven, but we found a place to pitch a tent easy enough.
