This creek property was probably used by the Creek and then the Cherokee as a campsite because of the abundant water and wild life. Later is was farm land and in the 1920's had approximately fifty mules working the land. The Old barn and blacksmith shop are still here. In 1977 the government planned to put a four lane toll road through here but was stopped by the oil embargo which caused the right of way to be auctioned. We were able to buy 200 acres for a small amount of money and have been raising cattle and camping on it every since that time. As a Scout Master I have been using this site for camping for the past 15 years. Time to let others enjoy. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or hammock in a grove of hardwood trees in a nice meadow on the banks of Lake Creek with old timey swimming hole. It is about 8 feet deep in center going to about 4' at sides and 20 feet long. Big stone grill is provided as well as large fire pit. Kindling and firewood is provided. ten minute walk to the main house for potable water and other needs.  180 acre farm with hills and a wide variety of wildlife and plants to inspect. Foot bridge over creek and other unique features. Camp is in rural area couple hundred yards off county road but secluded. Plenty of deer, turkey, geese, wild ducks, beaver and other wild life in the area.

Booger Hollow Camp
Exceptional spot!!
This was an absolutely STUNNING location, a secret grotto not too far off the beaten path. The directions were easy to follow, and we had no problem finding the site. Michael was communicative, and very accommodating. Once arriving, there is a huge amount of space to set up in right next to the river. Lots of trees and shade, an easy spot for a hammock, a large firepit, and a large shelter with a table and large built cooking pit. You can hear cows lowing nearby, protected by a large and incredibly friendly dog named Gus. We caught several fish right off the bank at the site, and found a delightful sandy-bottomed and waist high area to swim a very short walk down the path along the river. It was clean, quiet, a ton of fun to explore, and very much a fantastic break from the rest of the world. We will absolutely be returning whenever we can.

Camping with 2 dogs off leash
Probably my most favorite place. We had the camp sites to ourselves and loved every single minute. The area is flat. Plenty of room for everything. Plenty of firewood. The dogs were off leash and they absolutely loved it. Bring your bugspray though! Don't be afraid of listening to the wildlife. This is such a great place to be one with nature! We will absolutely be back soon! Thank you so much Michael!!

Great place to camp with friends
I had a great time camping here on campsite #1. What a beautiful private spot just a close drive to Cave Spring The creek is deep enough to have fun -- my friend and I kayaked, and he even jumped in to the river even though it was only 50 degrees outside! The fire pit is fantastic . I highly encourage campers to bring something to sit on. There are some logs nearby that we used as chairs. The cooking grill made it easy to prepare dinner. I liked waking up to the sound of the rooster's crow! I think I saw a beaver or muskrat or otter! I am not certain what that animal was. Look for fish, wild turkey, mushrooms, and the big friendly dog that belongs to the property owner. Our van made it just fine, but I would caution drivers as they enter the property to be mindful of the driveway. It has a sharp angle of entry and a low profile vehicle could bottom out! overall great experience :) Would recommend.

Hidden Gem
With clear signage, a well-ventilated privy, and plenty of room to roam, Booger Hollow was a perfect camping excursion. It was too chilly to swim, but I can see that appealing in the summer. There's a BIG dog named Gus (aka "puppybear") who lives at the cattle farm across the street. He wanders through and is very relaxed. The host, Michael, was very kind and helpful! We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect!
Michael was the coolest host! Very helpful and his land is incredible! He and his two sons were very accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure we had the best experience possible. 10/10 would stay here again and I recommend this sight to animal lovers and primitive campers who practice LNT!

Booger Hollow Camp
Safe, secluded, relaxing
When you drive down Lewis drive, the directions say to turn left when it dead ends onto Booger Hollow but you have to turn right. And the campground is right there. Would have been easy to find in the daytime but arriving at 10 was frustrating.

A beautiful hollow, indeed. Spent a couple of nights with my 9 year old son. We slept in hammocks beneath a few hardwoods, close to the water. It was peaceful and pleasant. We would stay here again.

Booger Hollow Camp
This place was absolutely PERFECT!! Pictures truly don’t do it justice. The camping area is secluded and surrounded by beautiful trails. We saw deer feeding and baby raccoons bunking in a tree hole. There is seemingly endless space to set up right by the waters edge (or not) with a covered area that has a table and above ground grill top. We roasted marshmallows by the fire and enjoyed the sounds of cows from a nearby pasture. The grounds are well maintained and the space is quite picturesque. It’s easy to access- close enough to necessities, but a real hidden and private gem. The only reason I hesitate to give 5 stars is because we’d love to be there every weekend!!
