We farm 40 acres of oak savanna, brush land, and pasture in Yankee Hill, California. Seated between the immense wilderness of the Plumas National Forest and the great bread-basket of the Sacramento Valley, we manage our land for both the production of food and expansion of wildlife habitat. We utilize non-violent and non-chemical means of controlling predators including having two guardian dogs on duty 24/7. We are a farm producing a diversity of food including gourmet duck eggs, pasture raised poultry and lamb, dried and added value herbal products, oyster mushrooms and cut flowers. Samantha Zangrilli and partner Cheetah Tchudi make up the ranchers, egg, mushroom and flower farmers. At TurkeyTail Farm we see agriculture as a management of relationships; utilization of photosynthesis, degradation and digestion to make efficient uses of all our resources, from the oak woods of the Foothills to the rice fields of the Sacramento Valley. Stay amongst a working, producing mushroom farm. Not only will the mushrooms amaze you, the 16ft' Pacific Dome a top a beautiful wooden deck will transport you to another world. The dome is fully equipped with queen size bed, wood burning stove (wood provided), working sink and mini fridge, elertricity and plugs around the with a T.V. and DVDS. Outside of the dome you will find an outdoor kitchen with working sink, small camp stove, heated outdoor shower, table and chairs. Access to a composting toilet is just feet away. Admire the beautiful views over looking the west branch of Lake Oroville while you're cooking, showering or hang a hammock and have a nap. Walk the 40 acres or hike down to the Lake. Take a dip in our swimming pool or check out the beautiful gardens. This piece of heaven is the perfect place to reconnect. TurkeyTail Farm is the home and sacred land of the Mechoopda/Maidu people. We do our best to honor our ancestors and steward this beautiful land.

We specifically chose this place to be on part of a working farm so that we could check out the animals, and it did not disappoint. Kitchen was well stocked, and the dome was very comfortable. Would highly recommend!

Great experience
What a cool experience! The dome is so comfy and the outdoor area is very well done. Being around all of their animals was also very calming. Be aware there are a lot of flys and the dome is quite warm but none of these things should be a surprise.

This dome had all the fun of a childhood blanket fort, with amenities adults will appreciate, like a mini fridge and sink. This is a great spot to visit if you or your children are domesticated animal lovers, very rustic. We enjoyed visiting the corraled sheep, pigs, and ducks as well as the cats and dogs that roamed the property. Our hosts were attentive and gracious, while still giving us our space. I really like how they marked the road to the destination well.

Glamping with animals!
Great place for glamping! On a family farm and were made to feel like family as well. Beautiful gardens, big swimming pool, roomy dome with everything you would need inside. Stocked outside kitchen with a shower and outhouse compost bathroom. Besides the pool, the camping with all their lovely animals was part of the height of our experience especially the baby piglets! Had reception but could not download Venmo to have farm fresh duck eggs and bacon on site but cannot wait to purchase and have at home! Was a perfect end of Summer cam pout for my teens! Thank you Sam and Cheetah!

Glamping at its finist!
We had an excellent time at the Dome! The farm and property was beautiful - with breathtaking views and true rustic beauty. The dome itself, as well as the outside kitchen, shower, and composting toilet was well equipped. Our kids enjoyed reading the many books inside the Dome, seeing the piglets, sheep, working dogs, and ducks. The area with the pool and vegetable, herb, and flower garden was just the spot to spend a hot evening and lazy morning before we departed. We were able to purchase farm fresh duck eggs and bacon to have for breakfast. What a treat!

Turkeytail Farm is amazing! Sammey and Cheetah are awesome hosts and the work they do is beautiful. I loved staying in the dome, meeting all the animals, and exploring the land. Enjoy all real world comforts in a beautiful, rustic, farm setting. Inside the spacious colorful dome is a comfy large bed, futon, sink and mini fridge. Fresh sheets and towels were a huge plus. And enjoy cooking and showing in an fully appointed outdoor kitchen with sweeping views. We highly recommend this Hip Camp destination for anyone seeking a super cozy and charming farm getaway.

We stayed at the Lycoper Dome on Turkey Tail Farm. Our 3 year old loved the dome and everything about the 40acre farm from the hoop houses full of mushrooms, to the ducks and sheep and pigs, the guardian dogs and the herding dogs, a black cat that let us say hello from a distance and sweet little old Itsy the terrier who visited us as we ate at the outdoor kitchen and then let our little one follow her around and pet her. The land is beautiful: the flowers and trees and wildlife, and views stretching to the south all the way to the Sutter Buttes, called Histum Yani by the Maidu Native Americans. We loved watching our little one explore and we all learned a lot about sustainable farming. But this hipcamp site could also be a fun place to come unwind with friends or a romantic-rustic getaway for couples. You can request a farm tour and learn about land stewardship or simply enjoy camping out. It is easy to get cooking with a propane stove and working sink with outdoor countertop and shelving, and wash your cares away in the open air shower with good water pressure and plenty of hot and cold. The dome has a cold water sink, mini fridge and woodstove. The couch and queen sized bed were perfect sleeping accommodations for our little family. We drank our morning coffee while enjoying the happy antics of woodpeckers and watched the moon rise as the sun set. As we packed-up and drove away, our little one asked to pick one more flower and waved to all of the animals.
