Blue Bird Sanctuary is a retreat center and wildlife sanctuary in a forest of pine, oak and fir. We are off-grid, using solar power for electricity and an on-demand propane water heater for bathing. The facilities are rustic. Outhouses, dirt roads and outdoor showers contribute to simplicity of living. Accommodations consist of three separate secluded cabins, each equipped for independent living. Situated on 40 acres of mountain top at an elevation of 4400 feet, we are surrounded by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest with views of Hayfork Valley, Mount Shasta and the Trinity Alps.There are so many places to camp on this property. Pick a spot near my cabin if you want to be close to shower/water access. Or pick something more remote if you are self-contained! Easy to not see another human, if that is what you seek.
