Camping with my pup
I really loved tent camping on John’s land it was beautiful and he had kayaks for use in the morning the inside space that was ours to use was a perfect accompaniment to the beautiful space. John himself is interesting conversationalist and has great values for humanity’s future. He was easy to talk to and open and willing to meet whatever need a had. I would absolutely stay again.

Awesome experience!!
This was an amazing stay for me and my son! John is great! Very helpful! I wish we had more time to stay longer. We chose this location because it was close to where we had to be the next day. Now we want to come back! Thank you thank you and thank you again! Beautiful area and wonderful experience. Really built up our confidence to go camping more.

Best host ever!
John was our best host yet!
The lake was quiet and we hung out on the dock and kayaked most of the day. Of course it’s always nice to have a toilet when camping :)

What a lovely slice of paradise in Arkansas!! Views of the lake, wonderful dock with kayaks and a paddle-board made for a relaxing evening after a long drive!The wooden porch swing on the dock was a bonus!! Watching the sunset from the water was delightful!! John was a wonderful host, he made sure we had everything we needed!! We highly recommend this hidden gem!! Thanks again John!!

This was our second stay at this little gem. We are a family of four that loves tent camping but not in a crowded campground. We had plenty of room to roam and so much fun using the paddle boat, paddle board, and kayaks that were provided. Both times my boys spent the night on the upper dock under the stars. I was a little leery to learn that our bathroom was in the house, but we all 4 were very comfortable and extremely grateful for all of the amenities. John has the perfect set up and makes THE BEST coffee. Oh..and we love his dog, Poppy.

Me and my wife are really enjoying are stay here. We have been doing some fishing from the dock the dock has a upper level so you can dive or jump off the top. John also has a few kayaks and a standup board you can enjoy yourself on the lake with. There is also a nice beach to go swim at. John is a very nice man he will make you feel right at home. I will definitely be back again only live about 2 hours away so this will be a nice getaway for me and wife. I highly recommend coming here you will definitely enjoy yourself
Make sure you get some of his fresh Chicken eggs it has been alot of years since I ate fresh ones I could definitely tell the difference between store bought ones.

Peaceful and relaxing stay
My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend enjoying the lake. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely gorgeous. John was a great host. It’s a very quiet area. There was some traffic noise but not too terrible. The lake itself is very peaceful and riding around in the kayaks was so much fun.

Peaceful and Beautiful
This camp was very relaxing and the lake was beautiful- especially the view from both lower and upper dock. John was a very accommodating host and offered all he had to us, which we appreciated. If I were in this area, I would never hesitate to return and enjoy a lakeside camp all to ourselves.

cannot say enough good things about john and his beautiful property. what a great human and what a peaceful and relaxing spot. it was a bit windy during our stay, so not ideal for lake activities, but he’s got a neat dock on the water with a swing plus kayaks and a paddle board. we enjoyed the view and i got to do yoga on the dock which was such a treat. john was so delightful to chat with and super helpful, his kids are lovely and so is sweet poppy the pup. the area for camping is perfect, i’ll agree with other reviewers that being next to the house is not an issue...the spot actually feels quite private, especially if you’re facing the water. thank you john and family! we hope to visit again!

Perfect Spring Break Getaway
This lake is absolutely gorgeous and you feel as if you have the entire place to yourself- even though you are camping in the side yard next to the house.!
Since we didn’t want to hook up our water in our RV, it was nice to have a bathroom and hot shower available to use. The site has a brand-new picnic table, a hammock, a double-decker dock being renovated - complete with a swing to watch the sunrise and sunset. There are kayaks and my teenage son had fun paddling about the lake and exploring.
John (the host) is very easy-going, friendly and offered suggestions on where to visit, pick up groceries, etc.
I would advise anyone coming here to know this is a place to unwind and relax. The neighboring towns don’t have much in the way of attractions beyond flea markets and antiques. I don’t think I would do this trip for a family with small active kids? But if you’re into the outdoors, you will find hiking, fishing, kayaking, caves, and mountain biking.

If you are looking for peace and serenity, then this is the place to camp! Beautiful view of the lake and close to sites such as Mammoth Springs and the quaint town of Hardy. Could not have asked for a more gracious host than John. We so enjoyed our stay.

John was super helpful with connecting our RV and had both 50/30 AMPs hookup available. We were able to park around the bushes into the yard so it provided a bit more privacy.

Super relaxing!
Very nice location, host, family...he let us use his kayaks, dock, yard, fire pit, inside bathroom, mini fridge...super friendly and his children are sweet. The lake was perfect, fall colors all around, very private/quiet...just what we needed to get away!

Beautiful view and relaxing stay!
John was great! So sweet and his dog poppy was a sweetheart to our two dogs. The sunrise was incredible and the property was beautiful. There was enough space to set up in several places, but John made himself as available as needed.
