Nature is allowed to thrive on our property, and the entire property is forested and wild. The majority of our campsites are shaded under a verdant and lush canopy. Our private beach and small lake welcome you for a swim. All we ask of our visitors is: that whatever you bring in you take home with you, that you leave your campsite and the property the way you found it, and the only thing you take from here are pictures and happy memories. All of our campsites are off-grid, un-serviced, drive-in camping. Campfire wood and recycling facilities are available on site. Maintained outhouses are available throughout the property. There is no potable water on the property so please bring your own drinking and cooking water. Children under 12 can camp for free. When booking a campsite please only include any guests over 12 years of age in your guest count. Children under 12 do not need to be included in your booking. Contact us to inquire about large group and event rates. We host LARPing weekends twice a month. We also have a limited number of seasonal sites available from June to September. I love this property and all the people who visit us, many have become extended family and for this I am grateful. There is nothing nicer than to have people drop by and spend a couple of hours, a day or a weekend, sometime when I get real lucky it's for a longer period of time :-)

Come and enjoy a traditional/rustic camping experience on the mighty Ottawa river. Be sure to bring your water shoes and a canoe or kayak, or you may rent one of ours. C-O-G is located on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River, east of the bridge that passes over from Hawkesbury, Ontario. This beautiful (mostly) deciduous forest (situated on both sides of the 344/Rte Des Outaouais), has been in the family for generations. The 59 acre property (50 acres on land, ~9 acres of river/water) features scenic views, privacy and is host to many outdoor activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and more, with many other outdoor tourism attractions (white water rafting ~15kms, Parc Omega (zoo)) located nearby. By paddle boat, canoe, or other similar shallow depth water craft, one can head upriver, around an island, and loop back through the remaining historic canal. ...It's a historic lazy river! Many amenities are only 1-3km away, such as a gas station (with fast charging), a grocery store and many restaurants including a Tim Hortons and McDonalds. A little History... Our property has played host to a small portion of the rich history of this area which included three railway tracks, a canal and a lock. The railway beds remain and the lock has simply been flooded over. Following the war of 1812, three Ottawa river canal systems were constructed between 1819 and 1833 to bypass the Long Sault Rapids on the Ottawa river. These canals were in use until 1961 when a large portion of the canal system was submerged due to the construction of a hydro-electric dam (~22kms downriver) at Carillion. As a result, the river level at our property rose high enough to submerge the top of the lock walls by ~3.5 feet. This submerged lock is located a few hundred feet offshore and can be seen using Google Earth as it measures 50' x 300' in size. Once you have a good idea where it is, throw on your water shoes and a life jacket and enjoy an interesting experience of walking on the walls of a submerged lock.

Cabine Luciole is a heritage Sugar Maple Cabin built in the late 1800's. It is located in an mossy, old growth maple forest with towering majestic maple trees. It is built on a leyline by Irish (Erin) settlers, giving it powerful energy to rejuvinate. You can also walk the cretan labyrinth, to bring balance. The catherdral tin roof cabin has enough space for dinning, entertaining and yoga, it also has a sleeping loft for 2 people, and can be used as a reading nook, bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels and you are welcome to set up a tent on the outdoor camping site. There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The site is booked for complete privacy, only one group booking at a time, so you have your own private spot in the woods. There is a fireplace in the cabin with plenty of wood. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are groomed peaceful walking trails. A sphere shaped cooking outdoor fireplace under firefly solar lights adds to the magical experience. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. Go back in time and experience the rare wisdom of the sugar maple trees that are over 150 feet tall. You will never want to leave, come back and see the trees colourful splendor in the fall and in early spring we plan to have hands on maple syrup making.

Located halfway between Ottawa and Montreal, Voyageur Provincial Park is steps away from the Quebec border. As such, visitors enjoy bilingual service from all park staff. They also get access to four beaches set along the Ottawa River and two boat launches, so it’s easy to explore the water and go fishing and birding. Bald eagles are frequently spotted here, as are osprey, snow geese, and great blue herons. Voyageur Provincial Park offers car camping in three campgrounds: Champlain, Iroquois, and Portage.

Notable campgrounds

Best for quiet camping: Iroquois Campground has radio-free and dog-free sites for those who want a serene camping experience.
Best for big groups: Voyageur Campground has a group camping section. Four of the group sites can accommodate up to 100 people and one can accommodate groups of 50.
Best for swimming: Champlain Campground is within walking distance to swimming spots and the day-use area, which has several beaches and a pet area.

Tips for snagging a campsite

All Ontario provincial parks accept reservations up to five months in advance of arrival.
Campsite reservations cannot be changed or cancelled more than four months in advance. As such, if you don’t get a reservation when sites open up, wait until the four-month mark when some cancellations might come in. Campers receive a full refund provided they cancel before noon on their day of departure. If you need a last-minute site, check around noon to see if you can grab a spot vacated by someone who is leaving early.
Voyageur Provincial Park allows for all-season reservations. Instead of the usual 23-day camping limit, these spots welcome campers for the duration of the season and are often snapped up by RV campers.

When to go

Voyageur Provincial Park is open from mid-May until mid-October for camping and again from mid-December to mid-March for winter day use. Campsite reservations are popular for the Canada Day long weekend (July 1). As the park is just down the road from Ottawa, this is a very busy time for the entire region. Visitors should also book early to claim a spot around Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, celebrated across Quebec on June 24.

Know before you go

You might hear Voyageur called “Carillon Provincial Park.” When first established in 1971, this was the original name. However, a similarly named site in nearby Quebec created lots of confusion and led to the park being renamed in 1994.
Voyageur Provincial Park has a park store, but if you’re in search of more than the basics, head to the nearby town of Hawkesbury. It has plenty of grocery options, hardware stores, restaurants, and a Canadian Tire store with camping supplies.

The nearby village of Vankleek Hill is home to Beau’s Brewery, one of the most popular craft breweries in southeastern Ontario. Ask about the DAVIDsTea London Fog, an Earl Grey latte-inspired ale.
