We are located one mile south of the Wyoming/Colorado border on the west side of Highway 287, one mile north of the rest area. The elevation is about 7,500 feet. Our property, and the surrounding area, is loaded with stunning granite boulders. This outcropping is part of the Sherman Batholith, (just like Vedauwoo to our north), dated at 1.4 billion years old! There are a variety of trees and abundant wildlife and birds. RVs, pop-up and all styles of towed campers are welcome, except Class A motor homes or low ground clearance vehicles. Our house is uphill and far enough away that you won't see us, but we're available if you need anything. The property line is fenced and/or marked, we ask that you stay on our property and keep close contact with your kids and your dogs leashed, or nearby, for their safety... due to abundant wildlife, as well as neighbors with horses and cattle.

Nicely done campsite with thoughtful ammenities, covered picnic tables , solar lights, toilet and grill stand. We stayed in our travel trailer but there are 2 sweet tiny cabins on the land that would be nice for a larger group. The rock outcrops and views were pretty and it was very convenient to I80.

Chas was a fantastic host and has created an awesome group of sites and facilities. We were there with some other campers but everything is spread out and you’ll have plenty of privacy and peace. Bathrooms, cabins, and showers were very clean and easy to access. You’re also close to tons of trails for hiking/biking/climbing/etc, including Curt Gowdy Park about 3 miles down the road. There is a gas station five minutes away for ice and snacks, and it’s only ~20mins to Cheyenne or Laramie if you want to grab a bite in town. I would note for tent campers on the Lee Road site, the highway noise is noticeable at night and there is a train that passes by to say hello at times, so just pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. We will be back!

What a lovely campsite for a large group! The bathroom was right next to our site and very well kept. We loved the covered picnic area with the solar lights. Brenda and Jason we exceptional hosts and their land was absolute perfection!! It was close to the highway (but not too close!! It was still quiet!) and super easy to find. Their instructions were spot on! Everything was so well groomed and maintained which made for very comfortable camping but there was plenty of wilderness to explore so you still felt like you really got into nature! I will 1000% recommend this spot and will definitely be coming back!

Camping at Chas’s land in Buford, Wyoming was amazing. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, gorgeous views in every direction, and the most hospitable hosts I’ve ever encountered. It was all around the perfect way to end our 2-week trip out West with our large family. Chas’s spot accommodated us perfectly. The shower and bathroom are clean, and the camping area is very private and comfortable. We fit our 30’ RV without any issues. We did not stay in the cabins but they look very well built and maintained with a cute rustic charm. Also, there is really no need to leave the premises for hiking as we were able to find a pretty good hike right from our ‘doorstep’ through the state-owned land. We will definitely be back to see Chas again!

Brenda was so lovely to meet. My husband (also Jason) and I were enjoying the horseshoe pits , when we got to meet her and her lovely two shepherds 💕 The property is behind gorgeous, and they’re so kind to provide a grill, hammock, table, firepit, firewood, sink, drinking water, solar powered lamps to light the campsite and walking trails … I mean , there’s nothing more we could have asked for ! We had to leave for health reasons in the middle of the night, and Brenda was so kind as to offer a partial refund, and we are rebooking and bringing our own two pups as soon as we can ! 10/10, I would totally recommend booking !
