There is public access, dogs allowed, to the Big Laramie River across the highway where you can fish or walk the public access path that runs alongside it.
Watching the wildlife is an experience of its own. From Chipmunks to deer, we see an assortment. If you enjoy birds and their sounds, you can pick a spot and enjoy. If you are a weather watcher, you may see 3-4 seasons in one day depending on the time of year. We had a lovely time in this A frame Cabin! Directions to the cabin are very clear, and I was welcomed upon our arrival. The short walk from parking is close to the amenities like the shower house and composting toilet, but far enough into the trees to feel private. The wood stove was an absolute win, as it made our winter camping feel luxurious and cozy. Our dog happily laid by our side while we played card games by the warmth of the fire. This was the best way to unplug without giving up comfort. Honestly cell reception at the cabin was a little too good considering that purpose. We only wish we had more time to spend at this site. We spent a lot of our stay in steamboat springs, so unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to use the outdoor firepit and cook set up.
Everything worked very well for the two of us, and there are lots of beds for a larger group. I anticipate the loft bedroom may be too firm for the average guest, and probably still quite cold in the winter. There is lots of cookware provided, but you may need more cutlery if in a larger group. The wood stove also might be tough for anyone with asthma or respiratory sensitivities, as we had to keep a window open to try to alleviate the smoke smells even after adjusting all of the vents on the stove.

Linda's cabin was exactly what we were looking for - a place to get off our phones, relax and have fun with our pup. I spent most of the daylight hours outside wrapped in a blanket on the Adirondack chairs with my furry buddy at my feet.
The cabin is well equipped with a a heater, microwave, mini fridge and electric kettle. There is also a propane BBQ just outside the cabin which we didn't use this trip, but will keep in mind for future visits.
Our pup, Petra, had so much fun and I felt very comfortable having her off leash while exploring the property. She loved the treats Linda left for her each day!
We were very comfortable; it was the perfect getaway.

The cabin was a perfect mountain get away! Linda was extremely helpful, offering detailed directions, fresh cookies and fresh coffee in the morning. The property and view was breathtaking, pictures just don’t do it justice. The drive out is gorgeous and you get right into the mountains and backcountry. Amazing getaway for some peace and star gazing!

Neat spot for a cross country trip! I love big private land sites like this and the instructions provided by the owner made it easy to find even in the dark. The weather wasn’t great so we didn’t get to explore and the road did degrade a tiny bit by the time we left the next morning, but it’s an awesome spot!

We loved staying at the Little Cabin With a View. Perfect for two people and the dogs had a ton of room to roam. It is a fabulous spot for dogs off the leash. They'd run around and come back...run around some more and come back. Linda is very welcoming and knows the area. And she dropped coffee off outside the door of the cabin every morning!!

2 nights at Little Cabin with a view
We recently spent 3 days-2 nights at the Little Cabin with a View. Our host, Linda, was super welcoming—from the chocolate chip cookies awaiting us when we arrived, to the thermos of hot coffee sitting outside our cabin door each morning. The cabin is indeed little, but quite comfortable and cute. The veranda out the front door of the cabin has a great view of the Laramie River Valley and is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee. The highlight of our trip was the incredible star gazing from the veranda and the small deck that’s a short walk up the hill from the cabin. We highly recommend the Little Cabin with a View for your next Hipcamp adventure.

Moose Haven was the perfect remote getaway - my dog didn’t want to leave! It was nice being in close proximity to so many trails, but the cabin was also great for a cozy place to read, watch hummingbirds, and relax. Weekend Trip to Little Cabin with a view
We stayed at Linda's little cabin from Saturday to Sunday and it was absolutely beautiful. It exceeded our expectations. Views of the mountains are amazing, the sky was so clear at night, and you can see all the stars. The cabin itself is adorable; she has everything you could need in it. Linda is so sweet, we got caught in a thunderstorm while out exploring and she dried our clothes and sneakers for us. She brought us fresh cookies and coffee. We would absolutely recommend this place; time slows down there. It was such a nice break from the everyday hustle and bustle. We will be back and next time for longer than one night :)
