Nomadic camping

Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

Beautiful mountain land in the Snowy Mountain Range above Elk Mountain WY with a pond, outdoor kitchen, kitchen has propane grill, oven with 4 top burners, blackstone griddle, and plates, pans, kettles, silverware and cooking utensils. very large fire pit. No inside bathroom facilities. Lots of room for tents or a small RV or pull behind camper. Small dock at pond with patio set for relaxing. Elevation is 9428 ft, and there’s the medicine bow river within walking distance for fishing. The road leading up is very rough but if it wasn’t there would be too many people. Lots of wildlife that generally just walk right by you while camping. Very peaceful and private2.5 acres of private mountain land in the medicine bow national forest with a pond, hot tub, deck, outdoor kitchen, large firepit. This land is in a very small community that is spread out. You can ride 4-wheelers or side by sides, kayak in Turpin lake or hike to deep lake. Recommend that you have a gps navigation due to the rugged terrain if you go on an adventure. Always check for fire bans before starting fires anywhere.

This property is absolutely breathtaking. The setting high in the mountains is stunning, and the views alone made the trip memorable. We enjoyed kayaking, saw a moose during our stay, and loved exploring the property. The owner's woodworking and creative touches throughout the site are unique and add a lot of character. Communication was excellent, and the hosts were very kind and responsive. That said, future guests should know this is a very remote mountain property. The drive up is much more challenging than we expected and requires a vehicle with good clearance; four-wheel drive is strongly recommended. The road conditions and travel time to the property are important to consider when planning your stay. We were the very first guests to stay here, so some growing pains were expected. Several amenities listed in the description were unavailable or not operational during our visit, and a few areas appeared to still be a work in progress. The vision for this place is absolutely there. With some updates, maintenance, and a few refinements to better align the listing with the guest experience, I think this could become a truly special destination. We are grateful for the opportunity to experience such a beautiful piece of Wyoming.
