The Little Cabin offers a mountainside basecamp, getaway, vacation or a more scenic overnight travel stop to allow you and your fur baby to enjoy some Wyoming open space. There is public access, dogs allowed, to the Big Laramie River across the highway where you can fish or walk the public access path that runs alongside it.

If you are a weather watcher, you may see 3-4 seasons in one day depending on the time of year. High Tide Ranch stands out as a unique working cattle ranch nestled just outside the picturesque town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. With over 25 years of dedicated stewardship by Larry and Mary Kay Monger, this ranch is steeped in history and tradition, sitting beneath the majestic Elk Mountain, also known as Sleeping Giant, in the scenic lower Elk River Valley.
This thriving cattle ranch has been operational for over a century, originally established as a sheep ranch by Larry’s family in the early 1900s. Transitioning to cattle ranching under Larry’s father, the ranch has evolved into a successful cow/calf operation that keeps the Mongers busy year-round. The cattle are divided into two groups, with one herd grazing at the Carpenter Ranch in Hayden, managed by the Nature Conservancy, while the other remains on the hay meadows during winter, receiving daily hay feed.
As calving season approaches in March, Larry and Mary Kay diligently check on the cows, ensuring that any needing assistance receive help. Once calving is complete, branding day arrives, where each calf is marked with the H-connected-T brand and given necessary immunizations.

Linda's cabin was exactly what we were looking for - a place to get off our phones, relax and have fun with our pup. I spent most of the daylight hours outside wrapped in a blanket on the Adirondack chairs with my furry buddy at my feet.
The cabin is well equipped with a a heater, microwave, mini fridge and electric kettle. There is also a propane BBQ just outside the cabin which we didn't use this trip, but will keep in mind for future visits.
Our pup, Petra, had so much fun and I felt very comfortable having her off leash while exploring the property. She loved the treats Linda left for her each day!
We were very comfortable; it was the perfect getaway.

The cabin was a perfect mountain get away! Linda was extremely helpful, offering detailed directions, fresh cookies and fresh coffee in the morning. The property and view was breathtaking, pictures just don’t do it justice. The drive out is gorgeous and you get right into the mountains and backcountry. Amazing getaway for some peace and star gazing!

We loved staying at the Little Cabin With a View. Perfect for two people and the dogs had a ton of room to roam. It is a fabulous spot for dogs off the leash. They'd run around and come back...run around some more and come back. Linda is very welcoming and knows the area. And she dropped coffee off outside the door of the cabin every morning!!

They grade the gravel very often, i stayed 1 night on the way up to Montana and 1 night on the way back. Both spots were almost perfectly level. Sure makes things nice when ur just quickly stopping for the night.

Love loVE LOVED! This hands down one of the best hip camps I've been too. We did the roundhouse. Stunning views all around. Highly recommend making it to rainbow lake if you can. Moderate hike.

2 nights at Little Cabin with a view
We recently spent 3 days-2 nights at the Little Cabin with a View. Our host, Linda, was super welcoming—from the chocolate chip cookies awaiting us when we arrived, to the thermos of hot coffee sitting outside our cabin door each morning. The cabin is indeed little, but quite comfortable and cute. The veranda out the front door of the cabin has a great view of the Laramie River Valley and is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee. The highlight of our trip was the incredible star gazing from the veranda and the small deck that’s a short walk up the hill from the cabin. We highly recommend the Little Cabin with a View for your next Hipcamp adventure.

Moose Haven was the perfect remote getaway - my dog didn’t want to leave! It was nice being in close proximity to so many trails, but the cabin was also great for a cozy place to read, watch hummingbirds, and relax. Weekend Trip to Little Cabin with a view
We stayed at Linda's little cabin from Saturday to Sunday and it was absolutely beautiful. It exceeded our expectations. Views of the mountains are amazing, the sky was so clear at night, and you can see all the stars. The cabin itself is adorable; she has everything you could need in it. Linda is so sweet, we got caught in a thunderstorm while out exploring and she dried our clothes and sneakers for us. She brought us fresh cookies and coffee. We would absolutely recommend this place; time slows down there. It was such a nice break from the everyday hustle and bustle. We will be back and next time for longer than one night :)
