Established in 1983 on a 60-acre plot of land right in the Shawnee State Forest. The property is beautiful with flat land, fields, and at the back are the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains. We put a horse farm on the land in 2000. The horses here are my family and I want to expand and offer more opportunities on the land. That's when I came across Hipcamp! I'm excited to share a piece of my heaven that I'm fortunate enough to call home.

The idea for creating a cabin rental/camping vacation getaway in the Allegheny Mountain Range came to life over several meetings at a Bob Evans restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, between co-owners Paul Liimatta and Joe Boffo. Joe had been accumulating land in the Genoa, West Virginia, area for several years and had dreamed of building cabins, tree houses and uniquely designed vacation rentals and campsites on a beautiful area called Hampton Ridge. Hills, trees, trails, steep grades, seclusion. There are many steep slopes to this primitive campground. The trails can prove to be quite a challenge to some. There are a variety of trees to see and plant life. We have deer, turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, coyotes .... Many species of birds also. Whippoorwills usually begin singing late March. Screech owls, Barred owls, Great horned owl. Come and enjoy your stay with us at Long Hollow Campground and wildlife sanctuary.

Bare Cove is a recreation lake with campsites. However, we are not your typical camp ground. We have no quiet hours, we do get loud and have a great time on the weekends. It’s not uncommon for beer pong or card games to go into the early hours. We are open to all ages and backgrounds, anybody that enjoys making friends and having fun on the lake. All guests must sign personal injury waivers to cover our 6.
So about the property, it’s 120+ acres with a 5 acre man made lake that features blue waters, a beach area and tikibar. We have atv trails, private camp sites and group sites. Enjoy the day floating in the clear blue water, fishing (separate pond) or hiking. Our lake also features a launch pillow for blasting your friends up to 20 ft in the air! We do have large float's for rent, which are great for groups. Thanks for looking, would love to host you and your party out at the lake.

Roger was super nice and the trails he's got on the property are great! Loads of wildlife all over the place. Super knowledgeable about the local birds and just as a storm was rolling in, he rolled down the hill to come check on us.

This site was lovely, plenty of room and multiple hammock hanging options. In addition to a picnic table there were two lounge chairs and a patio table with chairs. The swimming hole a very short walk away was great.

This campsite is perfect for a weekend getaway. The creek is one of the best we have been to, while there is a road that follows it the creek is beautiful! We fished using worms and caught over 20 in one day for 2 people (blue gill, small & large mouth bass). While the “outhouse” needs a little love, it works—we brought our own set up but it would work if you don’t have one. There is some road noise, but that doesn’t bother us.

It is a primitive campsite, so don't expect state park amenities, but you can expect privacy. You are only a few miles from Shawnee State Park if you want to take advantage of their activities. Tree coverage was mother nature's umbrella during heavy rains and the fishing and swimming were great. Getting to the campsite was a brief adventure, so you absolutely need 4 wheel drive. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Janine and Clinton’s property was beautiful and well kept/maintained. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The campsite was exactly what we were looking for. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable as well and made sure that if we needed anything during our stay to let them know. We hope to return to this campsite in the future!

I loved everything about Roger's property. Not only was the site we stayed at accommodating, Roger made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Beautiful landscape with an array of wildlife rustling in the plush forest. Minutes away from the Mothman Museum and other places to visit. I hope to come back and hear more of your stories.
