Our secluded 80-acre farm is nestled in a valley between three mountains, where two babbling creeks meet—over two miles from the nearest residence. We raise chickens, ducks, and pigs while practicing permaculture and organic farming, using solar energy for parts of our operation. Camp at the Main Circle near our home trailer, cabana, and bonfire area, with access to electricity and Wi-Fi. For a more rustic experience, Kolb Field offers a peaceful spot along Coon Creek, shaded by a majestic walnut tree. You’re also welcome to camp almost anywhere on the property to find your perfect spot.
A lightly traveled public dirt road runs through our property. While an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, regular cars can access the site, and we have parking for standard vehicles. Please check with us in advance if you plan to bring an RV. Our farm is a great destination for overland camping—perfect for getting your truck a little dirty!
We are cautiously dog-friendly. Our farm dogs patrol the property to protect our free-roaming animals, so visiting dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and comfortable around other animals. If you're unsure about compatibility, please reach out for advice. Our dogs will come to your camp to "check you out". If your dog has a problem with other dogs that are new to them you must let us know so we can control our dogs. We have had people come with problem dogs and not tell us so, we are asking for a $1 extra that we now require as a pet fee.

Or bring a friend and rent one site in conjunction with some of our other sites. you can even split up your camping trip with a night in our backcountry camp site. Located in the rolling Appalachian hills of Southeast Ohio. This farm has been in our family since 1869 when our relatives settled here from Germany. Originally farmed for cattle and sheep with many orchards over the years our property is now mostly mature forest. Southeast Ohio, including our property is known for its hilly topography and microclimates. Hills range from 400 to 1,100 feet.
Nearly 500 acres of land with an additional 200+ acres of Wayne National Forest adjacent to our farm and close proximity to other Wayne areas for outdoor activities. We have nearly 10 miles of available trails for hiking. Many activities can be done at or centered around our property. Such as excellent and challenging road biking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking and boating. We are two miles from the Little Muskingum River. A great river for kayak trips. The Wayne Kinderhook horse and hiking trail is roughly 5 miles from our location. Hike the Irish Run Natural Land bridge trail also a short drive to the trailhead from our property. Ride your motorcycle up Rt. 26 a great Ohio byway for scenic driving. This is also a great home base for dual sport or adventure bike motorcycle riders to camp while adventuring along gravel roads through Appalachia. If motorcycles aren't your method of entertainment and travel. Bring your horse and ride on several of our trails.
From steep ascents to long flat ridge lines, you will have lots of time to immerse yourself with nature while hiking. We're next to a section of the Wayne National Forest and a short drive to other similar Wayne activity sites. If you like to camp, but don't want the busy public park experience then you will enjoy the privacy of our camping location.
We are also only about a 20-minute drive to downtown Marietta. Where you can find restaurants, bars, and many other fun activities.

Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. Have seen several bald eagles on and around the property.

Our farm is also home to a miniature horse and chickens.
In addition to the NRG and Summersville Lake and Dam, also close by are Carnifex Ferry Battleground State Park where you can see where a crucial civil war battle took place, as well as Babcock State Park with its iconic grist mill and waterfall.
We provide 5 sites on our farm for every camping style, from electric and water RV hookup, dry RV to tent, each with a canopy shelter, table, fire pit and grill. All sites are spaciously separate from one another for privacy and perfect for couples who want to get away from it all, or for families or groups of friends who want to reconnect and catch up.

We are a working farm and do have a flock of Chickens and Guinea fowl. We also are very Kitty friendly here. Unfortunately no dogs permitted at the 'Fairyland' property. However, you can keep your friendly dog on our 'Down the Holler' site.
There is always a friendly animal to visit with. Please make sure you are respectful to our home and animals.
Keep in mind, the creek can run high in bad weather, so I recommend an all wheel drive car, or with high clearance. That being said, small cars will get through when the creek is down.
This is primitive camping. No toilet or shower our amenities are available.

Julie and Shannon introduced themselves and gave us a tour of the farm. They own an animal paradise. It was so beautiful and peaceful with critters everywhere. There was never a dull moment watching the dogs, horses, llamas, and much more enjoy the acres of hilly grassland. My favorites were the pigs that joined us at the campfire. We purchased eggs, honey, and homemade laundry detergent. I highly recommend. Thank you for letting us “city” folks experience your life.

Nature Camper is an absolute treasure of a space! We stayed in the trailer and it is wonderfully appointed with hot and cold running water, a propane stove, outdoor shower, a gorgeous back deck, and a hip composting toilet in the outhouse. The property is magnificent, offering some great hikes and gorgeous scenery. The trails are clearly marked, and you can actually enter the Wayne National Forest from the property. We happend to be there for one rainy night, and the sounds were magnificent. We also hear the coyotes calling! There were no fewer than 10 bird species singing in the morning! The site is also cloe to everything in the Marietta area. You are very close to the town, the Ohio river, the Wayne National Forest. serval trailheads, and lots of attractions. I highly recommend The Nature Camper!

Susan was so welcoming and made sure we had a great time despite the rain! Like others have mentioned, the shower is great (and hot!). The road to get to the campground is unpaved for about 1.5 miles, but my partner and I made the trip in a Bronco Sport with no trouble. Highly recommend!

J was very attentive and thorough with my needs and communication. The camper was so cute and had a great rustic and modern style on the inside. The shower and the outhouse was the most impressive. Upscale and clean for a camper vibe. There is access to trails you can spend hours walking in just behind the camper. Its also 20 min from town so a doable drive just in case you need to pick up anything you forgot.

Nik and Beth were absolutely amazing hosts!
We are novice campers and 2 lgbtq+ women so we were a bit nervous about our trip to West Virginia. But Nik and Beth made us feel so welcomed and safe!
We really enjoyed getting to chat with them by the fire our first night there. They are just lovely people. My wife especially loved their sweet dogs.
Nik went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and cared for. He even spent time letting us see their piglets and telling us about their animals! I honestly don’t think you could find better hosts.
The property is beautiful and nicely tucked away from everything. A really nice escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The drive in was fine in our truck. I thought it was a little bit of an adventure in itself. We saw several deer on our way in and out. I would be cautious driving it at night if it’s your first time just because it does have some tight turns.
The WiFi was a plus! I had no issues with getting a signal (AT&T) but my wife did (Mint) so that was nice for her to have. Though we tried to stay off our phones as much as possible because you just want to soak up being away from it all!
We definitely want to come back and hopefully stay longer! They truly helped make our trip enjoyable, easy, and memorable! Thank you!!!

This was a great camp spot for my partner and our dogs. Lovely camper with a lot of amenities. Bathroom was very nice and kept clean. Lots of great trails nearby to hike. Great to chill by the fire and since it was cold out, it was very nice to have heating in the camper. Overall great time; will be back if ever in the area again!

Weekend Trip to Prayer Mountain
Spending a day and night at Brandon's A-frame cabin was a positive experience my partner and I will never forget. The cabin itself was cozy and stocked with all the essentials. The surrounding area is what really made for a memorable experience. We came in late, well after dark, and were greeted by a small persistent goat attendant who kept us company while we got settled. The next morning, we were greeted by several more, as well as peacocks, emu, pigs, and donkeys. We had no idea there were so many animals and were delighted to hang out with them all morning long.
