Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others. Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience. In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house! We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you! Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. Relaxing retreat. A lot of worthwhile outdoor activities 1 to 1.5 hrs away. Had everything we needed and it was very cozy and comfortable. Having 2 bathrooms is also a great perk especially since there were 4 of us. Host was helpful and informative. Teens enjoyed it as well. Would definitely recommend.

The place was beautiful! The cabin had everything we needed… games, cooking and cleaning supplies, wifi, tv with plenty of watching options, there was even a telescope for star gazing! Loved the peace and quiet. I loved that although there were other cabins, they each had a more than adequate amount of personal space so that it still felt like a romantic secluded getaway for you and your spouse/partner. This is a lovely setup and I would highly recommend. I definitely look forward to coming back! Thank you Rae!

This site is incredibly comfortable and so peaceful. The owner was easy to reach when I had questions, the camper is out of the way off of main roads and very private, and we loved how much space we had to move around and hang out with our kids. The only real downside was that the weather had been bad before our trip, so we couldn’t use the tiki torches (they were rained on and soaked) and the outdoor string lights weren’t working because of it as well. On the way home, my family was already asking when we could come back to the site again, and if we could stay longer next time!

Weekend Trip to Revelle's River Resort

Stayed here over this past weekend and was very impressed. Price was very reasonable and accommodations were significantly better than expected - everything was very nice and included an excellent grill, good furniture/bedding, and a kitchen stocked with the essentials (pots, pans, utensils, coffee makers [Keurig and regular coffee pot], and so on). The cabin itself is at the end of the other lodges - so it's a bit more private - which is also nice. Additionally, when we first arrived the hot tub was not hot. I called the front desk, and they came out with 30 minutes and fixed the issue, and it warmed up by evening. Great service and the staff were super friendly. Also, the river is only about 30 feet away from the cabin. We did lots of fishing and it was awesome to have it so close to our location.

Our weekend to unplug was perfect. There was WiFi so we could play music, then airplane mode. Sitting by the fire both nights with some music and just our conversations was amazing. We visited the butcher shop in the little town of Capon Bridge and bought the best steaks. Hiked a bit up the creek bed and explored a little. And the hot tub at the house was perfect and romantic. Such a great getaway location.

I had a great stay here! The hosts greeted me with a sweet birthday bag, which was such a thoughtful touch. The yurt itself was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities you could need, including cooking pans and utensils. I especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub while listening to the peaceful sounds of nature. Check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, and they even included directions to the yurt, which made everything seamless. Overall, a wonderful stay. Highly recommend!

My fiance and I (along with our two dogs) booked the Yurt for our of stay while we explored the beautiful mountains of WV after a fresh coat of snow. We had booked our stay during the middle of a significant winter storm and delayed our drive. We messages Shawn and Catherine and they were very quick to respond back to us while we figured out our travel plans. They even started the pellet stove so that we could get some much needed warmth in the well-beyond zero temperatures outside. Our Yurt was very well maintained and came with all the necessities for our stay. We enjoyed the Roku TV they have set up so you can cozy up in bed or on the pull-out futon. We also got to have the experience of going out to our hot tub while the wind chill was in the negatives! Check out was very easy and Shawn and Catherine gave use plenty of instruction for our check in and check out. Overall, I think this may have been one of our best “camping” experiences. This was our first time staying in a Yurt as we typically stay in a dome. The pellet stove was an absolute necessity and we had more than enough fuel to fight the cold. Weekend Trip to Olde Tyme Cabins

The location was perfect! We felt secluded in our little camp and were able to hike up the hillside nearby. We loved the campfire with the lights strung around, and there were roasting sticks in one of the RV cubbies. The hot tub was amazing. We did get rained out of the hot tub, since there is no awning over it, but once the rain stopped, we were able to enjoy again. The master bed was comfortable, and the bunk beds have a curtain to keep lights out for later sleepers. We camped in mid-November and stayed warm and cozy the whole time. Our only complaint was the water. It never quite worked well enough to shower, and washing dishes was frustrating. We did let our hosts know, and they came quickly to work on it, which helped for a short while, but didn't last the duration.

Weekend Trip to Revelle's River Resort

Spent a weekend during the fall season of 2025. Perfect cabin tucked away in a different section away from most of the RVs. The river runs next to it which will be wonderful during rains and when the water levels are up. We traveled as a family of 4 whereas the cabin can sleep 9 - 2 bunk beds for 4 kids. Elkins town is about 10 -15 minute drive for all groceries - Kroger, Walmart and all essentials. Strongly recommend for people who love to enjoy an RV park but want to maintain their own personal space..

Cozy little tiny house! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here. Accommodations were as described with the exception of the hot tub which appears to have been upgraded from the inflatable one shown in the pictures! Hot tub was plenty hot and we enjoyed it for a good 25 minutes each night during our stay in late fall! The place was easy to find based on the directions given. Be prepared to have absolutely zero cell service, though we were able to get a few texts out via satellite reception on our cell phones.

Weekend Trip to Glamping on Timber Ridge

We had a wonderful time in the cabin, which we found to be a thoughtfully-built getaway. From sitting on the front porch in the morning watching the clouds lift from the valleys, to relaxing in the hot tub at night, made for the perfect weekend. We brought prepared meals, but next time would plan for things to cook on the hot plate. The mini fridge is just big enough for two for the weekend, and you are a stone's throw from Yokum's Store where you can grab everything you may have forgotten, or enjoy a meal. We enjoyed everything about our stay and won't hesitate to come back again!

Potomac Highlands

Winding mountain roads and backcountry hiking trails lead the way through the Allegheny Mountains and the Monongahela National Forest in eastern West Virginia. Four-season adventures await at Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley Resort State Park, which harbor some of the region’s best ski slopes, while rock climbers congregate at Seneca Rocks.
