Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. We're located between Davis, Parsons, and Elkins.
Dolly Sods, Canaan, Audra State Park, the Tygart River, the Cheat River, Seneca Rocks, and Tygart Lake are all a simple and scenic trip away.
The land itself is 10 acres. The main camp area is on flat field and approximately 4 acres.
Here is the secret recipe to this camp site:
It will be all yours! We only offer a single primitive site per night. There are no neighbors (at least the human kind) visible from anywhere on the main field. Very minimal light pollution. The stars are clearly visible on a clear night.
There are also no utilities. This includes water, electricity, or available enclosed shelters. Verizon and AT&T have strong signals in the field.
There is a metal carport that has a concrete pad along with a Porta John for privacy. There are also some storage buildings on site.
There is a gas station (Sheetz in Belington, WV) within 5 miles of the farm site and a Dollar General within 3 miles. Beyond that, Elkins has plenty of store options if you need supplies.
Interstate 79 is 32 miles away.
We are in the process of developing the far corner of the main field into an active hops farm and are members of a WV Co-Hop.
Again: this site is secluded and your group will be the only people there during your stay.
We will provide detailed directions when you make your reservation.
The driveway is steep and could cause issues for two wheel drive vehicles in winter. If it's rained extensively there could also be some muddy areas which we ask that you try to avoid.

Our property was a small family farm for several generations. Our family purchased the property about 18 years ago. Since we are not farmers but love living here, the question became "What would be the best use for the land?" Living in a scenic area and already being in the vacation rental business on some other family property answered the question. We decided to share the beautiful view and seclusion of our area with others.
Our goal was to keep the cost of building down so that we could pass on the savings to you so that you would not have to be rich to enjoy our lovely area. This inspired the idea of a glamping cabin. The cabin is actually a repurposed office building that was built about the time this property was purchased by our family. We moved it to the present location and completely remodelled it in 2018 and added the bathroom. For 4 years, guests enjoyed an off-the-grid experience.
In 2023, when we began work on the glamping dome (stay tuned--coming soon!!), we decided to add electricity, running water, and a hot tub to the tiny house!
We hope you enjoy the cabin (and, soon, the dome) and the stunning view from them as much as we enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with you!
Note: The Charming Glamping Cabin is at a totally different property. That property also has a section that used to be farmed. Now a lot of it is forest. We purchased the property around 2000. This cabin was built approx. 10 years later. At that point, the cabin was a tiny economy cabin with a sofa bed. However, it seemed most folks preferred comfort over economy, so in 2020, we added a bump-out to the side of the cabin so there would be room for a queen bed. Guests have loved the improvement. (:

We will show you around the property and let you decide where to camp (with our approval of course!). We have fields, a wooded area with a trail, a Lookout, an area with swings/picnic tables/grill/fire pit. The views of the mountains are absolutely incredible here at WestWinds Venue! It’s so private, you can hear the birds chirping in the day and frogs croaking at night!

We had a quick stop over in Virginia and Lynne’s property was perfect! Communication and instructions for arrival were top notch. Lynne and her husband were great hosts and we really wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy their beautiful property. We will absolutely be back!

Beautiful place with great views of the farm fields and mountains beyond. We were there on a terribly windy late Fall day (we were right at the top of the mountain) so we are looking forward to coming back in the Spring when we can enjoy being outside more and roaming the farm.

April and Carl are the kindest most accommodating hosts we have ever had! The campsite view was absolutely stunning and the proximity to downtown Lewisburg, Fayetteville and New River Gorge made it the perfect camping spot. If you’re looking to avoid crowds and cramped camp sites we definitely recommend this location!

My friends and I had a great time at Cabin 3! The hosts were quick to respond to our inquiries, and the staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin can comfortably fit more than four people and still has plenty of space to move around. Both the indoor and outdoor bathrooms were clean. It’s the best place to relax, unwind, and enjoy good company. Highly recommend!

Amazing spot John was very welcoming the entire time we felt at home. There’s 250 acres of nothing but stunning views. There’s a ton of stuff to do right there skeet shooting a cute little putting green there are five ponds perfect for fishing. The little touches aren’t to be missed either the cute on site shower house with laundry *chefs kiss the bird houses the cute I assume from family named roads and alleys even a 55 miles according an hours sign…. If you’re looking for a place to get away and forget the world this is the place!!!! 10 out of 10 recommend

Very quiet and peaceful site. I stayed a few nights and enjoyed the stay. My Garmin GPS took me directly to the site so no issues with that and as stated, no cell service with att or Verizon, which is actually nice. Water, porta potty, showers, firewood, don't need much else.

We had a great time on Aprils property. We were secluded with Mountain View's in every direction, it was breathtaking. Very quiet and well maintained spot. April and her husband were some of the kindest people we've met. They ley my kids feed the chickens and sheep and their dogs were the best, the kids played with them a lot. Would DEF stay here again.

Steve's campground was an excellent place to stay along the Greenbrier River. Its a very thought out place, very peaceful with nice amenities.
We're so glad they keep their mowing to a minimum to allow native plants and moss to grow. Native plants don't foster as many mosquitoes as conventional non-native grasses and we didnt have bug problems. The creek was super nice and so was the firewood. Looking forward to coming back!

Awesome spot, hot showers!
Campground is well maintained, campsites are decently spaced apart. Each site has a nice picnic table and fire ring. Firewood available for purchase. There is no reception so be sure to print off instructions that the host sends you. Extremely close to Cranberry Gladed!
