Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. This information is based on stories from some old timers my husband had spoken to in the past when he bought this property in 2002. The owner back in the old days sold off parcels and parcels of lands back then. Eight minutes off SR 18 lies 11 acres of mostly undeveloped land. Dean's is a beautiful, bare-bones place to rest. Our main driveway is CLOSED this year for repairs. We have alternate arrival instructions for you after you book. These instructions add about 7 minutes (totaling 8 minutes) from SR 18 to the campground. Our location is convenient. We are just minutes from Auburn city limits. Road noise, planes, Pacific Raceways, and freight trains are audible here even if muffled by the trees. Our distant neighbors occasionally indulge in target shooting. We have a brand new neighborhood in construction on one of our property lines. In order to provide safety and peace, hosts live just outside the campground and closely manage happenings. All our sites have 2-4 persons occupancy in hopes of deterring parties. Our quiet hours are 8pm-8am so we can rest up for the next day’s adventures. Propane stoves are welcome during fire bans. We do not have a check in cut-off time. Reservations do need to be made before midnight. We have zero tolerance for hateful, abusive, or discriminatory behavior toward people, belongings, and wildlife. The 40+ year old trees and distance between the campsites provides space for you to bring and create your own vibes. Hosts should only approach you with safety or quiet hour concerns. The site can accommodate up to two RVs or 3-4 tents depending on the distance apart. We allow up to 6 people per booking. The firepit and the Snoqualmie River are about 150' away from your tent or RV. We have a porta-potti at the camp site and also two picnic tables. Pets are welcome at our HipCamp, but we do require that you clean up after them. Near North Bend there are several hiking/biking trails including the trail up Mt. Earth Biscuits is a sanctuary and a place to enjoy nature Located in Skykomish Washington, a small town 15 minutes from the Stevens Pass Ski Resort and the Pacific Crest Trail. We have 53 acres of a southern facing hill side that runs along the Henry M. Jackson, Wild Sky Wilderness within the Mt. Baker National Forest. We have seven sites for camping. All sites have a fire ring, a table of some sort and a barrel of water for dousing your campfire. All sites have a deck for setting up on. We give each party a clean camping toilet and privacy tent. All campers are welcome to hike up to the cliffs for viewing. The road going into the property is flat and level; however, we reclaimed an old logging road and it takes a jeep or 4-wheel drive truck type vehicle (Subaru makes it all day long for some reason) to get past the switchback as it heads up to the cliffs and camping spots 1-3. Bring binoculars. Be advised that it takes an able-bodied person to get to the top as the trail going to the cliffs is rough. We are laying some ropes but count on your own ability, not the ropes. We have not put in electric hook ups, water, sewage disposal, therefore your rig needs to be self-contained. We offer a clean and sanitary camping toilet for each party. Works well and easy to use. If panning for minerals is your thing there are a couple of seasonal creeks. The property is walking distance to 3 local eateries, a laundromat , a tavern, coffee shop, outfitter, fishing guides, convenience store/gas station. Skykomish is a train community and sports a train park which offers free miniature train rides May thru October. Fun for the kids of all ages. Keep in mind that as a train community there will be trains that rumble through the valley at night. If that bothers you bring ear plugs. There are numerous hiking trails in the area as well as several rivers in the area. The Foss, Beckler, Skykomish and several pristine alpine lakes. Biscuits come to the area for a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities including skiing, snow shoeing, rafting, mushroom hunting, rock climbing, quad tours, gold panning, bird watching, fishing, mountain biking, mountain rescue instruction or just unplugging from the world below and simply chilling. Pets are welcome however the property is located within the town limits of Skykomish and there is a leash law and you don’t want rover to chase wildlife into the mountains or across the highway and be lost forever. It happens. This area is rich with history from “The Olden Days”. The longest train tunnel in the western hemisphere was constructed through/under these mountains in the early 1900s after the nation’s worst train disaster, an avalanche, took 96 souls. Wellington (site of the disaster) is a short drive, is worth seeing and is wheel chair accessible. Two books written about this, both excellent reads. The White Cascade and Vis Major. During the time of tunnel construction between the logging and rail/tunnel workers there were some 20,000 living and prospering in the Skykomish Valley. They were a hearty rough-and-tumble crowd. Thursday through Sunday there is a museum and art gallery in town. Also, there is abundant wildlife in the area including bear, deer, cougar, bobcat, porcupine, etc. In the event you’re fool hearty, NOT diligent, (lazy) and you leave food items out, that will serve as a chow call for the bears. FULL DISCLOSURE: There hasn’t been a bear attack in a very long time up here, and don’t think you're the bear whisperer because you’re not. That title belongs to Father Earth Biscuit. His ghost wanders the woods at night. I observed him playing poker recently late at night with the Sasquatch and bear that lives in these woods. The bear lost and was angry and was departing the area hoping to find a tasty human but found a nice nest of grubs instead and so he forgot about his people hunt. Unfortunately, just as my camera was ready to take video of the whole affair my battery went dead. I needed to get out of there anyway as to that point I had not been detected by them. But they are there! We biscuits find that bears are people too and they are just trying to fill their calorie needs and they like cheese burgers and chips of any kind with their beer. Don’t leave out the food items. IT WOULD BE A PROVOCATION ON YOUR PART! Enuf said. Hunting/ shooting is strictly forbidden. All state fire restrictions are adhered to. No Rock climbing the cliffs unless you’re an instructor level climber and can show credentials We have planned this as a FAMILY CAMP GROUND therefore, illegal substance users should look for another place. Your rig must be in good condition. No old 1900s models that clutter city streets down below. I hope you understand our intent here. Be advised that Length of stay is limited.

All sites have a fire ring, a table of some sort and a barrel of water for dousing your campfire. All sites have a deck for setting up on. We give each party a clean camping toilet and privacy tent. All campers are welcome to hike up to the cliffs for viewing. The road going into the property is flat and level; however, we reclaimed an old logging road and it takes a jeep or 4-wheel drive truck type vehicle (Subaru makes it all day long for some reason) to get past the switchback as it heads up to the cliffs and camping spots 1-3. Bring binoculars. Be advised that it takes an able-bodied person to get to the top as the trail going to the cliffs is rough. We are laying some ropes but count on your own ability, not the ropes. We have not put in electric hook ups, water, sewage disposal, therefore your rig needs to be self-contained. We offer a clean and sanitary camping toilet for each party. Works well and easy to use. If panning for minerals is your thing there are a couple of seasonal creeks. The property is walking distance to 3 local eateries, a laundromat , a tavern, coffee shop, outfitter, fishing guides, convenience store/gas station. Skykomish is a train community and sports a train park which offers free miniature train rides May thru October. Fun for the kids of all ages. Wellington (site of the disaster) is a short drive, is worth seeing and is wheel chair accessible. Two books written about this, both excellent reads. The White Cascade and Vis Major. During the time of tunnel construction between the logging and rail/tunnel workers there were some 20,000 living and prospering in the Skykomish Valley. They were a hearty rough-and-tumble crowd. Thursday through Sunday there is a museum and art gallery in town. Also, there is abundant wildlife in the area including bear, deer, cougar, bobcat, porcupine, etc. In the event you’re fool hearty, NOT diligent, (lazy) and you leave food items out, that will serve as a chow call for the bears. FULL DISCLOSURE: There hasn’t been a bear attack in a very long time up here, and don’t think you're the bear whisperer because you’re not. That title belongs to Father Earth Biscuit. His ghost wanders the woods at night. I observed him playing poker recently late at night with the Sasquatch and bear that lives in these woods. The bear lost and was angry and was departing the area hoping to find a tasty human but found a nice nest of grubs instead and so he forgot about his people hunt. Unfortunately, just as my camera was ready to take video of the whole affair my battery went dead. I needed to get out of there anyway as to that point I had not been detected by them. But they are there! We biscuits find that bears are people too and they are just trying to fill their calorie needs and they like cheese burgers and chips of any kind with their beer. Don’t leave out the food items. IT WOULD BE A PROVOCATION ON YOUR PART! Enuf said. Hunting/ shooting is strictly forbidden. All state fire restrictions are adhered to. No Rock climbing the cliffs unless you’re an instructor level climber and can show credentials We have planned this as a FAMILY CAMP GROUND therefore, illegal substance users should look for another place. Earth Biscuits is a sanctuary and a place to enjoy nature Located in Skykomish Washington, a small town 15 minutes from the Stevens Pass Ski Resort and the Pacific Crest Trail. We have 53 acres of a southern facing hill side that runs along the Henry M. Jackson, Wild Sky Wilderness within the Mt. Baker National Forest. We have seven sites for camping. All sites have a fire ring, a table of some sort and a barrel of water for dousing your campfire. All sites have a deck for setting up on. We give each party a clean camping toilet and privacy tent. All campers are welcome to hike up to the cliffs for viewing. The road going into the property is flat and level; however, we reclaimed an old logging road and it takes a jeep or 4-wheel drive truck type vehicle (Subaru makes it all day long for some reason) to get past the switchback as it heads up to the cliffs and camping spots 1-3. Bring binoculars. Be advised that it takes an able-bodied person to get to the top as the trail going to the cliffs is rough. We are laying some ropes but count on your own ability, not the ropes. We have not put in electric hook ups, water, sewage disposal, therefore your rig needs to be self-contained. We offer a clean and sanitary camping toilet for each party. Works well and easy to use. If panning for minerals is your thing there are a couple of seasonal creeks. What a fantastic spot. Valhalla Tree Farm is the perfect place to unplug and get cozy. The off-grid cabin was simple and comfortable, and the propane heater kept us toasty the whole time. Even with the water shut off for the season, everything was easy to manage, and the covered fire pit meant we could still enjoy a fire while it sprinkled most of the trip. Shannon was super helpful and responsive, and we loved being able to wander the property and let the dog run around off-leash. The backdrop of the escarpment is beautiful and makes the place feel extra special. Honestly, I’m almost hesitant to hype it up too much because I do not want to fight for dates next time. We’ll be back!

I loved my stay at Tiara's place! It's in a beautiful and convenient spot, right off Ben Howard road and right next to the Thousand Trails Thunderbird RV Park. Tiara was super communicative, flexible, and accommodating, even when I didn't have power (thanks to a transformer having blown). I would definitely stay at Tiara's place again!

The A-Frame is spectacular. The host is kind, welcoming, accommodating, and a joy to work with. I've now visited this and the same owners' other cabin 3-4 times and will continue to! Comparing the 2 below (I love them both - just depends on what you're looking for) Similarities: --Both have: -super- fire pit areas, great views (one woods, one more open), privacy, keypad lock on door, access to trails, gas-powered indoor burner for cooking, outdoor shower with hot water (in season), ~4" foam mattresses on all beds, parking for at least 2 vehicles, picnic table, outdoor chairs and table on a deck. Differences: --The A-frame has side-by-side sleeping arrangements, wider than a king bed, so great for singles AND great for couples. The cabin has bunk beds. --The A-frame has some pots, pans, and dishes to help on a rainy day. Last I was there, the other cabin didn't have dishes/cookware. --Running sink water at each (in season), indoors at A-frame and outdoors at cabin. --The cabin has gas-powered heat and the A-frame has a wood stove. --The A-frame has a composting toilet, cabin has an outhouse. --The tables at each are different orientation - A-frame's can be folded up/down but you sit side-by-side. Cabin is 2 benches and you face each other. Seriously, though, you can't go wrong with either!

Please write me with any questions you have. I have a rental cabin (Spring Creek Cabins) in the area too that is closer to Lake Cle Elum. Lots of large groups have reserved multiple or all sites for their large groups and for more privacy. However please keep in mind the place still needs to be cleaned up upon leaving. Private camp area close and easy access to Forest service road 4517 that has ATV, dirt bike and snowmobile trails in amazing Cle Elum's Little Creek and Granite Creek area. Can take ride ORV from campground to Forest road, but no trail riding in campground or surrounding gravel roads. Vehicles must have spark arrestors. Quiet and private for groups to hang out and enjoy the area, hiking, exploring, and enjoying the night sky. We often kayak at Easton State Park or at Cooper Lake and then come back to this private camp area away from the crowds. Huge parking and camping area where 10+ vehicles and RVs can easily drive to and park before heading out on the trail or use as a base camp to enjoy the peaceful mountains around you and explore are area around you. You will enjoy the peaceful hills and unobstructed views of a stary night sky. No electrical or water hookups. This is not a KOA, it's a very private rough campground area with beautiful views. There are no manicured lawns, but lots of rocky areas and often wildlife walking about. Deer and turkeys often are seen and grasshoppers when its warm. Forest Road to campsite often is bumpy with good sized potholes. Entrance to the property is by the gate to the rest area and up the trail. Currently we have some tent spots cleared out to set up camp. In order to have an open fire, you will need to get a permit from the Skykomish fire department. They are free and can be picked up in town, about 15 minute from the Iron Goat! The Trail runs directly through the property so there may be some passer-by visible but the brush is pretty dense in summer so there is a decent amount of privacy. A creek to your right and chickens to the left, this camp is out in the rural country side on a couple acres. The creek is beautiful and you'll hear it from camp. In November the salmon come up to spawn so you might hear them splashing. The Centennial Trial head is about a mile away where you will find a long railroad grade paved trail excellent for biking and walking. There are tons trails in the North Cascades up the Mt. Loop Rd outside of Granit Falls which is just 15 minutes north of camp. These are also hiking and mountain biking trails at Lords Hill Regional Park 15 min from camp or up the highway 2 corridor. Enjoy downtown Snohomish's restaurant scene and breweries, or head over to wine country in near-by Woodinville. This site can accommodate up to a 40' RV and there is plenty of room for tents too. There is water and a 50 amp outlet, plus a regular old 20 amp plug in. There is parking for up to 2 vehicles. Our home is about 50 yard away. We will be out tending to the chickens and building our garden space. Maybe riding bike around with the kids. Our dog puts on a guard dog act but really just wants you to throw a stick for him. Dogs are okay but they should be on a leash to keep them off the road and out of the chicken coop.

Secluded riverfront campsite in a gated community, located just above Canyon Falls on the South Fork of the Skykomish River. The site is surrounded by large redwood and maple trees for plenty of shade and privacy. There’s space for tents, extra RVs, or car camping. Site includes 110V power outlets (with extension cords), a hose water hookup (potable), picnic table, deck, and BBQ. The river is just steps away with private beach access. Great for fishing, floating, relaxing, and enjoying the scenery. A calm, slow-moving swimming hole is located a few hundred yards upriver and is great for a dip. Important Notes: - Please coordinate before booking if you have a larger RV or trailer. Retreat to 'Pentoria Lodge' to enjoy a mountain escape. This spacious authentic cabin with modern interiors creates a serene hideaway with the chance for beautiful morning sunrise, yoga in the studio, or an espresso/tea and an early morning stroll in the forest trails on property. Enjoy shops, breweries, and restaurants just 15 minutes away, or soak in the hot-tub after hiking/skiing or paddling the local river. Unwinding with evening dinners on the patio is a must! The space This space is my home and comes fully equipped with everything to make this stay feel like you are home away from home! Please enjoy TV that comes with the Roku and my subscriptions to Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. You'll find a fully stocked kitchen, a stove and refrigerator/freezer, toaster, kettle and French press coffee. Extra additions such as an Instant Pot, small blender, and popcorn maker are also available. The home includes: - 4 spacious bedrooms - An indoor dining space that comfortably seats 6 with leaves that can be added to be able to accommodate 10 people - and 2 additional seats in the kitchen bar area. - A large outdoor deck with a grill for BBQ, eucalyptus wood table and bench that seats 8 for outdoor entertainment - Expansive garden surrounded by forest and woodland trails to enjoy alone, in groups, or with your dog(s). - Outdoor hot-tub with mountain views lit with globe lights for ambience. - Yoga studio (which can be heated during the winter). - Your stay Includes bath towels, hot tub towels, robes, toiletries, etc. What you will find near Pentoria Lodge: - The log home is located on a hill close to the Skykomish River with a view of the mountains. - There are three towns located nearby. 1. Duvall is my personal favorite and is 20 minutes away to enjoy boutique shops, breweries, lunch spots, great dinner restaurants, ice cream, and a Safeway. 2. Monroe has everything you would need including restaurants, shops, hardware stores, pet stores, antique stores, and grocery stores. 3. Sultan is on the way to Stevens Pass ski resort and is much smaller but has a great bakery! Nearby activities include hiking, skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding. All the spots that I would recommend visiting can be found in the Welcome Guide upon your arrival. Important things to know: - Staying in this home means you are staying within nature. Deer are regularly around the property, or can be seen in the woods during your drive up. Please be respectful to them. There has been the occasional bear sighting, so please be aware. There is bear spray in the property, but I have only seen a bear twice and have been able to scare it away with a tap on the window! My space is surrounded by woods and forest, and though I treat the exterior to keep out pests, there are all sorts of creatures great and small, including insects and mice, which unfortunately can be a reality of nature for all the homes up on the hill. Please take into consideration that my home may not be a right fit for those who are extremely phobic of these and other wildlife, but for others, it can bring enjoyment. Please take a look at my house rules to familiarize yourself with the do's and dont's, especially if you will be using this space for a larger entertainment gathering. I love my home and I am so glad you may choose Pentoria Lodge as a place to retreat. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Guest access There is enough space for 3 cars to park at the top of the driveway and next to the log cabin. Any other cars can fit down by the yoga studio and garage, but please note, the driveway is not for the faint of heart - it is steep! During the winter months you will need a 4-wheel drive to make it to the top of the driveway. When it gets icy, it is not recommend to drive the driveway, but parking at the bottom and walking up through the pasture is what I do to get home! There is an electronic lockbox for your convenience that will let you into the house with a special code that I will email to you once the property is booked and you are confirmed to be arriving. Your GPS may take you a slightly different route. I will email instructions on the easiest way to the lodge. There will also be signs to 'Pentoria Lodge' to follow for easier directions. Other things to note There are deer, squirrels, rabbits, owls, and other critters that may roam the property as the log home is surrounded by forest and is home to many creatures great and small. Some of the tiny ones may get into the house from time to time. Refunds cannot be granted because of a spider, fly, wasp, mouse, or any woodland critter. I strive to keep the property as thoroughly clean as possible with monthly pest control to mitigate the chances of seeing any creatures in the property and appreciate your full understanding should an insect or critter make a small appearance. Should this happen, please reach out to me asap and I will do anything I can to take care of it and to make your stay a 5 Star experience!

10 acre homestead on the outskirts of downtown North Bend at the base of Mt. Si. Breathtaking view of the mountain, peaceful pastures, amazing wildlife. Walk or ride to all the charm of Downtown North Bend (0.7 miles), The Snoqualmie River (0.5 miles) or The Snoqualmie Trail (0.5 miles). Close to Rattlesnake Lake (6.5 miles) and a huge variety of hiking trails. The farm is regularly visited by elk. During the spring and summer there are usually cows, cats, and two working dogs on the property. Hollow Tree Campsite is private, located on the far side of the pasture, next to a seasonal creek (dry in the summer). For larger groups we offer two adjacent pasture sites, Hollow Tree and Cherry Tree. And for those in a vehicle requiring hookups, Barn Camp is an excellent option. When to go

North Bend is best visited in July and August, when temperatures are at their warmest and rainfall is less likely, though June and September are also relatively warm with an average eight or nine days of rain. While December and January can get pretty cold, temperatures rarely dip below freezing, even at night.
