The property, aptly named the Oasis years ago, is 34-acres of lawns, shade trees, ponds, and natural landscaping over 50 years in the making. The landscaping was started by Tom who still lives in the farmhouse. The Schierman family has owned this property for four generations. The Oasis is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse in eastern Washington State. The newly created Yonder Hills Disc Golf Course is a private 18 and 9-basket course with long and short pads for almost every basket. A mix of open lawn, wooded fairways, water hazards, and elevation changes. Day, overnight or weekly reservations must be made to enjoy this private course. The disc golf course is under construction with some layout changes on the last three baskets. It's playable but it isn't perfect yet. We had to shift focus to the barn restoration grant to meet the June 2025 deadline. This is a perfect basecamp to relax and unwind or be creative. Read in the lawn. Cook over the fire. Explore the Palouse. Disc golf anytime. Guests may bring their own private fire pits. Firewood is provided for the community fire pit. Yonder Hills can be reserved for larger group camps and private camping events. There is plenty of room for several vehicles and tailgate camping. Please contact us to request a reservation for a reunion, wedding, private party, disc golf tournament, or concert. There are no dedicated electrical hookups, sewage hookups, or potable water available at this time. Bottled or bulk water is available in in St. John five miles away. Electrical outlets in the gravel parking area can be used to charge small devices. We are constantly upgrading the property, look forward to better amenities as we grow. St. John has a bar/restaurant, grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, 2 hotel rooms, library, coffee and gift shops as well as a very nice 9-hole traditional golf course. There are numerous small towns, lakes, rivers/creeks, backroads, viewpoints, and historic stops around the Palouse region as well as amazing photography year round. The McGovern Residence is a magical little world we've created at the base of the Blue Mountains. We're about an hour South of Palouse Falls, an hour East of Walla Walla wine country, and about an hour West of Lewiston/Clarkston. The property consists of 28 acres on the Tucannon River with mature Ponderosa Pines, wildflowers, curated gardens, hiking trails, incredible valley views, and direct access to 1.4 million acres of public land. Multiple stocked lakes are accessible for fishing just a few miles up the road. Close to the river, The Flat can accommodate up to 2 tents and 4 people. The main campsite includes a hammock, picnic table, fire ring with benches, and parking for up to 2 cars. Immediately off the parking area is a secondary site with another picnic table and fire ring for those camping directly out of their vehicle. Campers have a faucet for fresh potable water and an outhouse for 24/7 bathroom needs. A short path from either campsite leads to a small river clearing for cooling off and lazy afternoons by the water. The Flat is the only site that we offer and we keep the group size low to ensure a peaceful and relaxing experience for everyone. We allow tents, cars, and smaller camper vans, but unfortunately cannot accommodate trailers or RV's. The main property is a pocket of green with mature cottonwood, ponderosa pines, choke cherry and elder scrub. Our property borders the Wooten Wildlife area which leads into the Umatilla National Forest - so that's 1.4 million acres of public lands directly to our South. Just down the road are some really great hiking trails and access points to the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness, or if you prefer to stay close, our property gains 1000' from river to property line. An afternoon trek to the top is challenging but provides a spectacular panoramic view of the Tucannon River valley. Pack some beer and some snacks and hang out for a wicked sunset. We're working hard on our hiking trail - currently it's 3/4 mile (1.5 mile round trip), and growing in length by the week. During your stay you'll probably see some wild turkey, quail, and some white tailed or mule deer. The area is known to have cougars (we run into them occasionally) bighorn sheep, rattlesnake, black bears, bobcats, and even the occasional moose! There's no shortage of wildlife in the area, and we enjoy when they visit us. Be on the lookout at dusk for the nightly bat show! We also have a flock of chickens that free-range during the day, so don't be surprised to get a visitor or two poking around for scraps. Our property is rural, but not isolated. Depending on where you stake your tent you might see some neighbors, but we can direct you to the right spot if you want to avoid it. The towns of Dayton and Pomeroy are both about 20 minutes away. Both have their own charm and offer a grocery store, a couple bars, gas, and supplies. There's an RV park and general store about a mile up the road if you need some quick essentials or a few gallons of gas. At the center of the property is a log cabin we're slowly renovating. We live here full time so when we're home we're out and about working on projects or clearing brush. You'll see us wandering, so interact with us as much as you want or just do your thing. This is our home and we like to host, but it's not necessary. On that note, this is not a 'campground'. We have a beautiful property with a campsite and like to share it! We hope you enjoy yourself while also respecting our home :)

Dreamy place. Smells like pine trees all day. Beautiful views of the Palouse. Its very well set up. Hot water in the faucet and bathoom. The outside sink was a plus. The table is very big, lots of dry firewood, spacious area, lots of parking, sting lights, the owners were very accomodating, flexible and very welcoming. The kids were very loud and they didn't once come over or say anything.

My travel dog Thor and I had an exceptionally warm and cozy stop at this beautiful property en route to Golden BC. The field tent sits on a lovely deck overlooking a beautiful valley. With all the development in Spokane it is amazing that this beautiful semi urban area is so close to the city. We loved watching the sunset, deer in the field and stars at night. The tent and field kitchen are exceptionally well appointed. The bed is super comfy and the tent feels like a boutique hotel with all the hosts thoughtful touches. The host are lovely and great communicators. So glad they are sharing their little piece of Spokane valley paradise with people like me. We will be back with more time to relax, enjoy the tent, deck and the beautiful valley.

The Belle of Glenrose was a quaint and easy to access place to stay for the night. I enjoyed the warmly decorated inside of the yurt, as well as the deck with views of the valley. It was fun to see the chickens in the yard. Walking on the mowed trails was enjoyable, and having close proximity to the park trail up the road was an added bonus.

Everything was so thoughtfully set up from the cozy string lights around the tents interior to the rustic kitchen equipped with all the tools needed to make a delicious breakfast & coffee. I hate to leave a good review because I want this place just for myself!!! This Hip Camp is absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful views. On top of the scenery, the amenities were fantastic. The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. The bathroom and shower were spotless, the site was spacious, and it was clear the host really cares about keeping everything in top condition. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Their warmth and attention to detail made the experience even more special. It’s rare to find a place that combines natural beauty with such comfort and convenience, but this spot has it all. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back — highly recommend to anyone looking for a camping experience that’s both stunning and stress-free!

This site has nice pine trees, which contribute to privacy and a feeling of being in the woods. We easily backed our 30’ fifth wheel into this spacious site. Travis has provided some extremely appreciated amenities, such as a giant picnic table and trash can. This was our second stay here and we greatly enjoyed sitting under the awning eating dinner, listening to the sound of the drizzling rain and pine cones dropping to the ground.
