Secluded private site centrally located just a mile from Interstate 5 off of exit #11, and 6 miles from the Interstate 5 / Hwy 205 intersection so most places in Clark County are less that 20 minutes away. Please Input 23102 NE 3rd Avenue into your GPS. Clicking the link on the Hipcamp map will bring you here with an Androuid device, but send you to a gated community West of us on an Apple device. Located 5 minutes from the Amphitheater,10 minutes from Ilani Casino, and less than 30 minutes from some of the nicest freshwater lakes around. This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and please USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it. There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a hot water sink and a HOT shower. * PLEASE NOTE To keep from freezing, the instant hot water heater is disconnected, and hot water, and hot showers ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM NOV 15TH TO MAR 1ST. Cold water to flush the toilets and wash your hands is available all year. You can use the discount code NOHOT To reduce your booking rate during those times We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong. Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. This was our second time staying at Steve and Starla’s campsite! The property is spacious and well kept, also close to the Mt. Rainier park entrance. Although the weather this time was not ideal, our group had a great time during our trip. Thank you to Steve for suggesting site 2 which is a little higher ground and surrounded by trees to keep us a little drier during our stay. The hosts were able to answer any questions we had in a timely manner. Overall I would highly recommend this campsite. Thank you again for hosting us and wish you well in the future!

This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

Accommodating, private, well-kept and friendly - all with a great view. Single porta potty split between 2/3 sites that is serviced weekly. 20min drive to Nisqually entrance of Mt. Rainier NP. Charlie the dog loved laying in the green grass and didn't bark at Mr. Steve upon arrival which is rare for her. Thanks for an awesome stay!

We enjoyed Steve Sarah's location. They have a beautiful property with a large area for r30-ft trailer and the view of Mount Rainier is excellent. Steve was on site and attentive during our stay and we felt very safe leaving our trailer. The campsite is far enough from the road where the road noise was not an issue. There was a very clean portelet on site. We would stay here again.

We just had our family reunion here & it was perfect! Very nice & level play area that had a volleyball net already up & it accommodated our Badminton, Corn hole, croquet, bocce ball amongst others. The kids loved running around playing Light Up sq Lazer tag at night too. Several cubby areas that worked for tents, we also had 2 RV’s & a Sprinter and room for all our cars/trucks. The kitchen area was bigger & better than expected & 2 picnic tables for us to play games as well. We all congregated around our RV spot at night for campfire (fire ring since fire ban) & fellowship. We were all up very late, it was so nice not having a curfew! They let us enjoy their goats, which the kids absolutely loved! The property is fenced & gated so we could let our dogs off leash with so much room for them to roam & explore. They had an outhouse too. The property is easy to get to & not far off of I-5, but you feel like you’re secluded in the woods! It’s perfect We all can’t wait to come back!

We were a group of 8 and Camp site #3 was humongous for our group! Sadly we weren't able to have a campfire at night due to the high risk dry season when we went in mid-August. Bring some bug sprays to stay comfortable in case you cant have a fire! Mt Rainier was not direct visible from our site but the view was literally 10 steps away so we could enjoy it anytime we wanted. The starry night was magical when it got dark. We could see the milky way. The hosts were nice and responsive. Steve graciously gave us an educational tour of their bee farm and showed us his farm animals, which made our little one's day. It was a lovely time. Site is about 1hr away from Henry Jackson Memorial Visitor Center. We also went to enjoy Mineral Lake 5 min away - the water there was warm and enjoyable (not glacial water). Campsite was clean and the port-a-potty was the cleanest any of us had ever seen (I think it is gets serviced weekly).

Camping on the area to the left is alloowed. Plenty of shade, and private. Please park your vehicle up top and walk down to the site.

It was a perfect stop for traveling through, quiet, peaceful, accommodating. Anita was great… you know these are hard working people and the aesthetics match. There’s a lot of personal detail that’s like art. We had a quiet night, but you can hear the highway far off in the distance and it’s almost like a hum putting you to sleep. Remember, it was only a pass through and for accessibility. I couldn’t be more happy. And a hot shower to boot.

This campsite has unbeatable views of Mount Rainier - both sunrises and sunsets were incredible. The campsite is clean, very spacious, and quiet. Lots of sun early in the day and more shade in the afternoon and evening. Steve and Starla were super helpful before and during our stay. We’ll definitely be booking again for next summer!
