Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. The Pamunkey people have been here for over 10,000 years making this area one of the oldest reservations in the country.
We have a small platform sitting right on the water for privacy and beautiful views of the river. You may see Bald Eagles, Grey Herons, Ducks, Geese, River Otters, and so much more. During low tide, the water is pulled back into the main part of the river and this is where you will see the wildlife during this time. There are up to 8 Bald Eagles here at a time and during the Spring to Fall, you will see Osprey hunting for food right in front of you and usually getting chased by the Eagles. What an awesome site to be able to camp and be a part of so many creatures all in their natural habitat.
We live right up the hill. Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home. Usually you cannot but want you to be aware. When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest.
During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land. Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak.
There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.
Please note that hunting season starts in October, and you may hear the noise.

Come take a load off at this forested Richmond retreat overlooking Reedy Creek. Set up a tent, car camp, or bring your small trailer to one of two sites on a unique property backed up to 20+ acres of woods. Imagine a hidden gem where you can relax to the sounds of rushing water and chirping birds, but can walk or bike to coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, parks or the river. If you are coming into Richmond for a Brown's Island event we are a five minute Uber to an access point using the Potterfield walking bridge (it's a beautiful walk across the James River to the island).
Each campsite includes 3 level spots to pitch tents (see dimensions below), and a connected space to park one car, van or small trailer. The large parking space can be used as a fourth tent footprint if needed. There are additional parking spaces. Each site has a fire pit (with firewood on site), a grate to grill over the fire, a picnic table, and a hammock. There is a shared outbuilding with a composting toilet, hand washing sink, outdoor shower (solar warmed), and space to change privately.

**Pricing is based on groups of up to four adults or two adults with children.
For groups of five to seven adults there is an additional charge of $10 person per day.

Campsites W and E are about 80' apart. Both are around 100' to the creek. The spots can accommodate a total length (towing vehicle plus trailer) of up to 35 ft.
There is an outdoor spigot with potable water and hoses for clean up. The woodlands and creek adjacent to the campsites have trails that are accessible to the public. You and your furry friends are welcome to use these paths, but know that others may be using them too.
Richmond has so much to offer and we are just a hop, skip, and a jump to many wonderful attractions - kayak or sunbathe on the James River, walk or bike on trails around the city, rock climb, dine, imbibe.
PLEASE NOTE* These sites are on a private property with a house that is visible to campers, but we give our guests complete privacy and don't plan to interact unless you need something from us. While you are on a 2 acre property backed up to a 20 acre wooded area, we are still in the middle of the city and you will hear city sounds.

The Site was very well kept! The bathroom was actually very well kept and better than I expected. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The owner turned the heater on, built us a fire before arrival, and ensured we would have everything and anything we needed during our stay. Overall, it was a wonderful stay! I would definitely come back and recommend this to our friends and family!!!!

This was an exceptional site. My Dogs and I had completed freedom and the Bay was fantastic.
As an added bonus it was soft shell crab season and a local crabber using the dock and his family became friends with me and my dogs. They shared part of their catch and I gave them some of the camp stew I made over an open fire.
This was a great site and I plan to return with my kayac next time.

This is a fantastic site. There are two camp sites but each is large and private. You can see and hear the creek from the camp site. Having facilities available made it super convenient. Very clean and stocked well. The added touches like firewood, hammock, fire pit, picnic table, chairs, and running water made it even easier and comfortable. I will definitely come back!

We had a great time camping at site 4! Peace Hill Farms is a gorgeous property, especially in the spring. The site was large and flat with trees on 3 sides and a horse paddock on the other. The 4 horses there were extremely playful and curious - we had so much fun just standing at the fence or sitting at our site and watching them graze and play. They would come up to us to see what we were up to and if we had treats. Very cool! The church/community building, barn, and other camp sites were all on the other side of the field which was great. A close walk to the bathroom or kitchen to wash dishes, but far enough to be away from other campers and any farm smells. All the camp sites were full the two nights we were there and we could see and hear some music from one of the camp sites from ours, but it wasn’t disruptive and we enjoyed running into them and chatting in the church kitchen. The property was gorgeous, great trails and roads to explore the different sections of the farm - the fishing pond, the bnb, all the different animals (and their babies!) spread out everywhere. We never saw anyone that worked there, but they were available over the phone and the bathrooms/kitchen were very clean and well stocked. We saw the fire ants that some other reviews mentioned but didn’t have any problems with them biting. We camped during a dry period, so no camp fires were allowed at site 4 which was disappointing, but we made the made the most of a camp stove. We’ll be coming back!

We had a great time tent camping at site three. With Lafayette Hall so close, it was easy to get to the fully appointed kitchen, clean bathroom and shower. All of the sites are within eye-shot of each other but far enough away not to bother each other with noise. All the animals were lovely. We enjoyed listening to the sheep and watching the horses go in and out of their far pasture in the morning and evening. Highly recommend!

The location is only a 15 minute drive from the highway. The place offers a fantastic experience with all sorts of cute animals and antique vehicles. The host is super friendly and helpful. I wish I had much more time to take advantage of the place to relax and see everything. My site was the one with 30 amp and water and everything worked perfectly. It was nice and flat so I didn't need to level. Even though I arrived very late to host with very welcoming.

Beautiful place to camp, fish, kayak! My dog had the best time swimming and running around the yard. The view was amazing and very peaceful. Huge sites with flat grassy spots to choose from. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and the land was very nicely maintained, with trash cans on site. There was a nice outhouse, outdoor shower, sink with hot/cold potable water. There are working fishermen/crabbers that were onsite EARLY on Saturday, but luckily the hosts told me ahead of time so I wasn’t surprised or caught off guard by hearing them. We can’t wait to come back.

Was a great campsite for us! Bathrooms were clean and really enjoyed the hot shower. Hosts were great at communicating as well. Really enjoyed our time here and hope to be back at some point!

Marvin is an extremely gracious host. The property is well suited for tent and car/truck camping. I cannot comment on RV accomodations but would inquire if that's what you have...he does have the space for RV's though (I don't know what hookups are available). There is a single toilet for the campground, a utility sink and shower (very clean!). The grounds are setup with a spacious picnic area and cornhole game. The campsites have a fire pit and picnic table in each. This would be a fantastic place for a group or family gathering. Bring a porta potty, your tent/sleeping bag, something to grill and have fun! My dog also loved camping at Marvin's.

Great location and Host. Boat ramp was perfect for launching our Jon boats and the dock was convenient for keeping them on the water. We will be back!
