Book a stocking through the hipcamp app experiences for for $55 a day 6 fish limit. Outside enjoy a shady relaxing nap next to the stream. At night enjoy a fire while looking at the stars up above. During the day, explore the Blue Ridge Mountains 5 miles away with very popular hikes and waterfalls. Sharp Top Mt and Flat Top trail heads are 5 miles away. Apple Orchard Falls trailhead 15 minutes away. The James River is 20 minutes away which offers canoeing and kayaking. 5 miles south of the campground is Bedford which has food, shopping and historical attractions. Wineries, orchards and national forest are just minutes away.

Currently accepting tent campers and truck/tent setups (no trailers or RV's... yet!). Experience Davis Creek, woods, pastures, and miles of dirt roads for biking/hiking. Just minutes from the Nelson 151 Craft Beverage trail (over 15 family friendly breweries/winers) and right across the street from Woodridge Farm Brewery. There's an Exxon station less than .5 a mile from our entrance, and Public Access to the Rockfish River is available .75 mile away. Charlottesville is an easy 25 minute drive. 10/2022: Fire extinguishers and first aid kids now available at the entrance to each property! 08/2022: Picnic Tables and Fire Rings now provided! Please contain all trash, human waste and canine waste and pack it out with you when you leave. If you're looking for a nearby adventure, Holliday Lake State Park, Bear Creek State Park and the James River are all close by and are great spots to go rafting or tubing! Historic Scottsville is just up the road where you can find restaurants, breweries, grocery stores if you need and more. Being in the Piedmont region, we also have quick access to multiple vineyards that make for a great day trip. There are opportunities to go swimming, hiking, kayaking, rafting, and visit wineries all within 20-60 miles of our property. There is really something for everyone to do!We're surrounded by working farms on all sides so, thankfully, the only noise is from a heard of sheep across the way, or some deer in the forest. It’s a truly peaceful outdoor getaway. As hosts, we typically greet our visitors at some point during their stay, though we are very happy to respect total privacy. We hope you enjoy the wonderful sunsets, creek access, and stars above as much as we do!About the Listing:Come pitch your tent or park your RV on our property and set up camp at the edge of our farm! We have a few other campsites, well-spaced apart, so you can expect to see other campers periodically throughout your stay in passing or in common areas such as the toilet. You will be able to enjoy privacy and all the serenity that the outdoors has to offer! There is cooking grate on the fire pit so you can cook up some delicious meals. We’d suggest bringing some camping chairs if you’re tent camping to enjoy your meals or your morning coffee, as we do not have a picnic table on site. This is a private site near a nice little creek for the youngins to play around in along with a big field and woods. The road noise isn't too bad. Its far enough away it just becomes part of the background. The amenities on site (table, cover, fire ring, etc.) are a nice touch too.

What a great spot for an overnight camp. Even a weekend getaway would be nice. But for us we stayed here for the night to head down to Overland Expo in the morning. It’s secluded, no one else around besides the occasional car coming down the road. A little wet but no problems with 4WD. Lisa was a great host as well. Nice, accommodating and fast with responses. 11/10 would recommend for a quiet night away.

#5 is a great spot! We had enough space to set up a tailgate tent with our vehicle. The spot is set up on high ground so there's plenty of space for rain water to drain away. The spot also overlooks a stream though we didn't venture out to it. Make sure to read Chris' directions for how to find the campsite so you don't miss the driveway you should take to enter the property. The bathroom and shower were adequate and about a 2 minute walk from #5. All in all, great place and I would stay again if I'm in the area.

Great spot! The campsite was easy to find, peaceful, and just what I needed for a quiet getaway. Fantastic location with proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Peaks of Otter, and the town of Bedford. Chris was very responsive and made everything simple. Loved the views and the stargazing at night. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great weekend at sandy bottom. From reading previous reviews, I knew before booking that there was going to be road noise. We use earplugs at night so this wasn’t a big deal for us. The most important thing for us and what I most loved about this property is how close it is to hiking and brewery’s. It’s about 15 minutes from devils backbone, bold rock and three notch brewery. And about 20 to 30 minutes from Crabtree falls, humpback rocks and other great hikes. We loved being the only campers in the area and the creek was nice and relaxing to have right there

We had a great stay at site #5! It was a very last minute thing to do with our kids and Chris’ place just kept popping out to us. We set up a tent and enjoyed the fire making hotdogs and marshmallows! The creek is clear and my son even caught his first crawdad lol. Listening to the creek at night is so peaceful I will definitely bring my family again. We met Chris and his family upon arrival and they seemed very nice. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Chris and his German shepherd were great hosts. Had a sweet little spot by the creek at site #5. The bathhouse was clean and the water was nice and hot. It’s close to the road but not so close you hear much at all. Chris also helped me pick a site in order to work remotely which was very helpful. He allowed me to take my time the next day and made sure I found some trails on the property. Definitely recommend.
