This camping experience takes place on a 200+ year old farm. We currently offer multiple camping options, most of which are only accessible by either all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicles.  The first location (along the main road) is solely for RVs or travel trailers (TT). The other camping locations are for tent camping, and much smaller/narrower and rugged RV/TT with a 4-wheel drive towing vehicle. Daniel and Cherith Kennedy purchased this 164-acre farm in 2014, and Daniel's parents, Brent Rita Kennedy, purchased the 1800's era farmhouse from Daniel and Cherith a couple years later. Together, we have transformed this farm back into a working farm with hay fields, cattle, donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens and any other critters we buy or rescue. We are currently rehabilitating the 1700's era one room schoolhouse at the front corner of our land as well. This farm is full of memories, hard work, and is absolutely stunning. In addition, within a short drive there is an ATV trailhead in the local town. The Clinch River is not far at all as well.  There is a small quaint downtown less than 5 miles with grocery, gas, supplies, and a few places to eat. Mission: The original idea for CR Adventure Outpost came many years ago. We grew up visiting "Grandparents" in Wise County and developed a deep love for the area, the outdoors, and all it had to offer. There came a point, , when we realized that the amount of outdoor activities and authentic cultural experiences could indeed support visitors. It could also support many business opportunities once everyone became aware of what was all around them. At that point, a process began of research and planning on ideas some thought were pointless. People deeply want to get back to nature and withdrawal from a fast paced materialistic society, at least long enough to realize what is really important in life. The best time of booking is the weekend at present. We have: Wooded/Grassy hills with plenty of tree cover and open space to spread out . A uniquely positioned community fire pit is available with an impressive view.  It is very rustic and primitive, but well kept, quiet, secluded, with developing  surroundings.  There is direct access to Jefferson National Forest and miles of hiking, biking and horseback trails. Equestrians encouraged, but is Bring your own horse and Tie Line. Mission: The original idea for CR Adventure Outpost came many years ago. We grew up visiting "Grandparents" in Wise County and developed a deep love for the area, the outdoors, and all it had to offer. There came a point, , when we realized that the amount of outdoor activities and authentic cultural experiences could indeed support visitors. It could also support many business opportunities once everyone became aware of what was all around them. At that point, a process began of research and planning on ideas some thought were pointless. While creekside is not as close to a creek as intended, and not as secluded as some places, it was a very nice and quiet stay. We had a need for an inexpensive site along our route and creek side fit the bill. The host was absolute incredible, and there is a cabin on site that we were allowed to use. I’m not sure if it’s regularly part of the stay though.

Great spot easy to get to off the highway but quiet once you get there. Artsy outbuildings, goats, buffalo and peacocks on the property which was super cool. Beautiful views of the mountains and nice secluded spots to camp, flush toilets and running water just a little walk away. . A+, would visit again!!

Pat's place was comfortable, had clean amenities, and cute farm animals! We camped at site 6 which was fairly private, you could hear cars on the road by the property but nothing too disruptive.

Nearby private hike to Pinnacle Rock is amazing.

The site is as described. True primitive campsite with the ability to camp wherever your feet or vehicle can make it. I stayed at the furthest point past the pond. Parked right next to a babbling brook and took in the peace. He has scrap wood (dry) for fires, a workshop bathroom w/hot water. David was a fantastic host and appreciate him giving us the opportunity to stay on his land.

Make sure you bring everything you need because you really are in the middle of nowhere (although Robert did offer extra blankets and firewood) if you are looking for a peaceful retreat.. this is it.
