Retro Star Ranch is big and secluded. Aside from a few trailers that dot the hills in the distance you are pretty much on your own. We have 25 acres of land at the end of a private road in a secret hidden valley not far from SLC, Ogden and Eden Utah. This land is pristine and connected to over 5000 acres of undeveloped open space. The property is part of a recreational property subdivision. You might see some fellow campers on quads, occasionally you might hear gunfire, but you're more likely to see deer, fox, grouse, birds of prey, moose and possibly elk. Not far from Causey Reservoir and the South Fork of the Ogden River both of which have great water for floating and fishing. You could easily get here in a sedan when dry but not recommended for sports or low clearance vehicles. If you have 4x4 that is better, especially if you want to venture to our last campsite or pull a trailer here. We've pulled a 30' foot trailer but the road is skinny in places and the turns are tight, bumpy from cobbles and ruts and often have puddles. There is about 2 miles of that climbs over a ridge. If you're adventurous and a confident driver on dirt roads you will have no problem. If it's you're first time pulling a trailer or if you have a low clearance then this might not be the spot for you. However, if you're looking for something peaceful and secluded that is not that far from town, this is it. We can also accommodate larger groups or multiple vehicles if desired. Please contact us with any special requests or questions. The Knoll site is better for trailers and larger groups. It has a loop through driveway and can accommodate a few trailers. Please be aware that this is wilderness camping and there are wild animals throughout the woods. It is best to stay on trail or at the site and be alert for snakes, big cats, moose and deer.

No neighbors (unless you count the occasional cattle or sheep as it is open range). Starry skies, red cliffs, sage seas, junipers, howling coyotes: the Wild West at its best. Pull in your RV or pitch a tent. Lots to see and do in the area. The Piedmont ghost town and kilns are 15 minutes away. The majestic Uinta mountains are 30 minutes to the southeast on the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway. Check out the local bison herd (including its famous white bison) at Bear River State Park in Evanston. While there, walk around the Historic Depot Area and the Union Pacific Roundhouse and Railyards further to the west. The downtown stretch along Main St. is step back in time and the site of our local brewery (Suds). Up the road on I-80 is historic Fort Bridger. Fishing available at local reservoirs and Bear River.

The best description I can give of our property is that it's great for a convenient and quaint "Stop and Sleep". This is because we are located right off of the old main highway and have two neighbors within eyesight from the house. This site is very convenient for quick stays since it is so CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY this makes it convenient but may not be appropriate for very light sleepers or for extended stays. The camping area is simple, with wild grass and a fire pit, bordered by the river on one side and the horse pasture on the other. You can see and hear the river easily April-July. The river is seasonal and does dry up in mid July-August. Drinkable hose water is available near the house. If you want a ranch-style camping experience with lots of interaction with your hosts and opportunity for adventure then you have chosen the right camping location! You are welcome to join in the daily choring activities or choose to be taken on a scenic trail ride or thrilling guided gallop on beautiful and well-trained rescue horses.PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is located in our house and has a flushable toilet and shower with hot water. Very very very remote and quite site. We saw unbelievable stars and could hear a pin drop that night it was so quiet. We got in super late and because there was no GPS coordinates available had some issues finding it. The last instruction was a little inaccurate and it messed us up. The site was about 400 feet from the road and the instructions say 100 feet. Other than that it was good!

Weekend Trip to Second Chance Ranch

Great spot to stay on a cross country drive- very close to I-84. The tentsite was closer to where we parked than I anticipated which made unloading and setting up very easy - especially since we arrived after dark, which Jessie was very accommodating about. There is some road noise/light but if you’re a solid sleeper (or tired after a long drive) it won’t bother you at all. Fun to see the horses playing in the morning!

Jessie and Sean are great hosts. Highly recommend the site. I know a lot of people seem to complain about the noise but it’s really not that bad once it gets later in the evening / during the night while sleeping. And if you’re keen on riding I’d definitely do it. Sean took me out and he’s a really sweet man. Nice to have a chat while I was on my solo road trip across the states

Jessie was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions I had. It was a convenient and tidy campsite for what I required and it was a very unique setting. I know some people speak about the road noise but I didn't find it too bad during the sleeping hours. I would recommend, especially during the spring run off when the creek is flowing I bet its super tranquil!

We had an amazing time camping at Raspberry Ranch! My fiancé, our friends, and I spent the weekend enjoying the incredible views. On Saturday, we visited Moon Lake, which was less than a 10-minute drive away. The water felt great, and the short distance allowed us to have more time to play in the sun! The host was incredibly kind and provided water and electricity for our trailer. We absolutely plan on going back, and we all highly recommend this place!

Beautiful, remote spot. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the views, the fire pit, fossil hunting and the stars. I’d recommend to anyone wanting some solitude. It was a bit out of the way for us and on unpaved roads, but worth it. Surprisingly good service despite being remote.

Located on beautiful, spacious land, Disco Juniper was the perfect place to rest our heads on our cross-country journey. The spot included a steel fire pit, two cast iron skillets for cooking, and a large rake to help smooth out the ground beneath your tent. We arrived after dark and were very grateful for the shining disco ball that beckoned us to the spot.

We appreciate Penny's excellent communication and assistance. We just needed a place to park the camper for the night on our way from Nebraska to Arizona. The field was wide, we had easy space to pull in and out. The kids loved being greeted by the dogs in the morning.

This was a great place to pitch the tent and sleep for a few nights while busy during the days in Provo. If we are in the area again during summer I wouldn’t hesitate staying again! Great walking and hiking in the mountains nearby and good local food in nearby communities. The farm dogs were friendly and great fun to have around (our dog disagrees!).

We got there late and last minute Jessie was kind enough to accept our request! When we got there we were detected to the camp site and the next day we did the petting zoo my niece loved it! Jessie has a son around the same age who was very sweet! My niece loved every second!
