Retro Star Ranch is big and secluded.  Aside from a few trailers that dot the hills in the distance you are pretty much on your own.  We have 25 acres of land at the end of a private road in a secret hidden valley not far from SLC, Ogden and Eden Utah.  This land is pristine and connected to over 5000 acres of undeveloped open space.   The property is part of a recreational property subdivision.  You might see some fellow campers on quads, occasionally you might hear gunfire,  but you're more likely to see deer, fox, grouse, birds of prey, moose and possibly elk.  Not far from Causey Reservoir and the South Fork of the Ogden River both of which have great water for floating and fishing.    You could easily get here in a sedan when dry but not recommended for sports or low clearance vehicles.  If you have 4x4 that is better, especially if you want to venture to our last campsite or pull a trailer here.   We've pulled a 30' foot trailer but the road is skinny in places and the turns are tight, bumpy from cobbles and ruts and often have puddles.  There is about 2 miles of that climbs over a ridge.  If you're adventurous and a confident driver on dirt roads you will have no problem.  If it's you're first time pulling a trailer or if you have a low clearance then this might not be the spot for you.   However, if you're looking for something peaceful and secluded that is not that far from town, this is it.  We can also accommodate larger groups or multiple vehicles if desired.  Please contact us with any special requests or questions.  The Knoll site is better for trailers and larger groups.  It has a loop through driveway and can accommodate a few trailers.  Please be aware that this is wilderness camping and there are wild animals throughout the woods.  It is best to stay on trail or at the site and be alert for snakes, big cats, moose and deer.

Great place to get away and relax in peace and quiet! The dome was fun to play on and sit under and the view was incredible. A little difficult to get to the spot but once we found it we were good to go. Highly recommend staying here if you love being away from the city life.

Beautiful views!
The views here are beautiful. The campfire pit was fanatic and the location is great because you’re not too far away from Huntsville but far enough that you’re out of cell reception so it’s easy to disconnect from everything but your company. The only complaint I have was the lack of shade and the wind was pretty gusty at times. If it’s in the summer bring your own shade :)

Serene Camping Spot <3
What an incredible camping spot. My group and I loved it so much. This is perfect for a secluded feeling in the middle of beautiful rolling green hills and yellow wildflowers. It’s far from people and it really felt serene. 10/10 recommend and we WILL be back multiple times this summer!!!

Beautiful, isolated, and quiet spot away from pretty much everything. Bryan was super responsive--and made sure we were able to find the right spot and navigate the dirt road with our travel trailer. We would definitely stay here again.

Wow, what a place to camp. There are other campsites on the land, but they are quite far apart, so you don’t feel like anyone else is around. Just gorgeous, sprawling green hills and mountains. This site is pretty exposed, so bring extra layers because it gets very cold at night. Would recommend at least having AWD in a small SUV because it is bumpy and rocky for a good mile to get to the site.

The property is awesome! Just far enough away to be really camping but close enough in case you need something. The dome is awesome for hammocks (just make sure you tie them around the connection points of the bars). the platform is a perfect spot for a tent and gives a solid space for cooking. Would 10000% percent stay here again!

This camp site was beautiful and so amazing to stay at. You have space and nature all around you. You’re far from street lights so the night sky was gorgeous to see.

Secluded, quiet, beautiful
This is a beautiful, CLEAN, site. The leaves were changing and the views spectacular. We had two trailers and three dogs but still enough space to have quiet time without being on top of each other. We didn’t see any wildlife and the puppies were off leash the entire time. As we went during the first week of October, there were hunters on the ridge line every morning and evening, but we only heard a few shots. Bring your bright clothes and keep dogs close if you go when we did! The distance to the left turn off the paved road is 1.8 miles. If you’re dragging a trailer and don’t want to find a turn around point, that’s important to know. If the paved road ends and becomes dirt (at 2.5 miles), you’ve gone too far. My friend had a 25ft trailer and made it fine. There were some creative maneuvering moments at the site, but she was comfortable and level. If I’m back in the area I will definitely return!

Beautiful space, close to Causey Reservoir and feels very remote. It was hard to find from the instructions. When driving up Evergreen Park - turn left on the dirt road at the wooden fence. This is around 2.2 miles from Highway 39. If you go 2.5 miles you'll go too far and miss it. Took us 4-5 tries in the dark to figure it out.

Beautiful spot!
Beautiful site with a great tent platform and fire pit. The dirt road was completely manageable but take care to check for inclement weather ahead of time. Plan to pack out all trash and waste.

Lovely spot. Enjoyed seeing wild turkeys, deer, sage grouse. Night sky was great. Visited Causey reservoir - love that it’s motor free! Bryan was a great host. Checked on us once and got us settled. Helped us place three campers snugly on the knoll. We’ll be back.
