Welcome to our high desert hideaway in Southwest Colorado with some of the best views the Four Corners has to offer! Expect warm summer days, cool nights, and some of the best sunrises and sunsets! Starry nights most of the year. The property include a spacious cabin and several dry camping site dispersed throughout the property. For the dry camping sites we keep things simple—this is rustic, off-grid camping, so come prepared with your own water and supplies. Wide open spaces with mountain views in every direction. Rolling hills and shallow canyons dotted with juniper, oak brush, pine, and sagebrush. Wildlife, including elk and deer, can be found wandering through the property. With thousands of acres for you to explore, this is the perfect destination for hiking, biking, foraging, birdwatching, wildlife photography, stargazing, and soaking in the beauty of nature. You can also explore local history including Lowry Pueblo, a fascinating ancient Ancestral Pueblo ruin, just 16 miles down the road. So, the Bureau of Land Management has these things called “Field Offices,” where they keeps tabs on public lands through these on-site offices. Now that we’ve covered that, let’s talk about all of the fun you and your crew can have out here! The BLM asserts that this area has some of the “most spectacular landscapes in the United States,” and we’re totally inclined to agree. You’ll find Monticello tucked away into the southeast corner of Utah near the Abajo Mountains (BLM land surrounds the mountains). Archeology buffs will have endless fun exploring the remnants of Ancestral Puebloan life, including cliff dwellings and petroglyphs. Thanks to these awesome and unique landscapes, you can spend your time hiking, camping, rock climbing, and more…all to your heart’s content. Heck, can we come with you?!

Discover the ancient splendor of Natural Bridges National Monument.

There’s a pretty solid chance that you’ve heard about Moab, one of Utah’s most happening recreation spots. This gorgeous place gets packed, so do your homework beforehand so you know where to go! The Moab Field Office, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), takes up 1.8 million acres of gorgeous canyon-riddled lands. Spend your days hunting for natural arches and bridges, exploring mesas, and contemplating how the heck rocks can look so crazy. BLM lands are also fantastic base camps for forays into nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. There are 26 campgrounds, and you can usually find something even on the busiest of weekends (but, if you can swing it, it’s always best to arrive early). River recreation on the Colorado and Green Rivers is another major draw. However you spend your time in Moab, you’ll fall in love with the impressive red rock formations, the deep canyons, and surprising amount of plant life.

This was one of the most unforgettable stays of our lives! Incredible climbing up the rocks that hugged our campsite to watch the sunset over Canyonlands. Caleb and Amber were nothing but helpful and in addition to stewarding this magical place, run a very cool little shop. We loved seeing Amber’s ceramics and watercolors there and picking up special camp treats.

It is absolutely beautiful at the Needle’s Outpost. You have a the perfect views into Canyonland and a beautiful red “hill” behind you. We didn’t use the bathrooms so I can’t comment on them, but I was so excited to have a recycling option. Amber was very welcoming and she and her husband were working hard to keep everything nice. We had a moment of trepidation taking our trailer through a bit of sand to get to our spot, but had no issues. It was amazing to be somewhere so silent. Canyonland in general, onthe Needles side, was very quiet. We were able to ride our bikes to the very end and encountered very few cars. There were some vehicles at most of the trails. It did make me sad that people don’t realize the stunning beauty of the Needles area. It’s well worth the trip!

This is a great place to stay if youre looking to visit the Needles District of Canyonlands. Just outside the park and plenty of great campsites to choose from. The hostess, Amber was very friendly and helpful. We had a backpacking trip in the park and this was a perfect spot to stop for the night before and get ready. The clean restrooms and showers are a nice bonus. The campsite are far enough apart to enjoy your own personal space and everyone else staying was very polite and quiet. We would gladly stay again when visiting the Canyonlands in the future!

The site was really well maintained and the staff were really nice. The site is so close to the Canyonlands visitor center less than 10 mins I think. Overall it’s a really cool place next to some rocks and some really pretty views. Wildlife viewing saw some coyotes and bats which were near as well. There’s even a little shop with some emergency supplies if you forget something and Gas for your car (to be warned price is exuberant expensive but expected).

The Needles Outpost was a great basecamp for visiting the Needles District at Canyonlands NP. Amber and Caleb were very gracious hosts, helpful and pleasant to interact with. Our site had great views of the Needles as advertised. Showers, ice cream, and composting all made our stay very comfortable. I would love to return some day.
