Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe. There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver. Linda is an awesome host and has a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy. I have found my spot and will be booking it as much as I can, so you better get there before I do.

Weekend Trip to Ladera RV Resort

Ladera RV Resort was a great place to stay. It's just far enough off the interstate to not be loud. The sites are large concrete pull thrus with full hookups. Each site has a large, level turf sitting area. Because we arrived late, we called the info number at the office and we're told what site we had. As soon as we pulled into the site, we were greeted by the on-site manager who gave us a list of all the local activities, restaurants, and laundry sites. There are several long term guests, but their area is along the outside perimeter and the Resort apparently requires they keep their sites spotless because the entire resort is extremely clean. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay and will certainly return.
