Bring your boat or personal watercraft and rent a boatslip for easy on and off the water. We also rent studio cabins, suites, and houses directly. Valentine Lakeside is on 5 acres of tree-studded shoreline of Lake LBJ in Kingsland, a town with shops, restaurants and music venues. Please note only our RV calendar syncs with HipCamp, so "availability" isn't accurate for lodging units, ONLY RV SPOTS. Welcome to East Austin! My property is in walking distance to some real Austin gems including Palomino Coffee and Sahara Lounge. It is 8 minutes from downtown Austin and easy to bus from. The tiny trailer is adorable and full of gorgeous natural light and rainbows. We even have an above ground pool that we fill for the long summers, but I must admit that pool maintenance can be a bit complicated. So no promises! Welcome to Eastside Container! The space Welcome to Eastside Container, a sleek and modern guest home converted from a shipping container in Central East Austin. This is a fully functional home with a contemporary and industrial design with many unique features, including a 40-foot shipping container, original wood and metal floors and a tri-panel set of 8-foot doors that slide and pivot to open the living area to the outdoors. Recessed lighting, wood walls, and countertops throughout, high-quality leather furniture and lots of windows and light complete this cozy and inviting abode. Although the space is small, many amenities await, including a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, full bath with a custom tiled shower, HD Smart TV, full washer/dryer, queen size bed and a deck with a completely fenced-in yard. All linens, towels, dishes and cookware are provided as well as coffee, soaps and bath products. The home is located inside a completely fenced-in compound with private driveway, parking spot and security gate. Come hang out on the Eastside. This is tiny living at its finest! No pets allowed. Guests will have complete access to entire house and yard. Nothing is shared. The hosts are long-time residents of Austin and are available to offer tips, recommendations and general guidance if needed or can be completely invisible if you prefer. Eastside Container is conveniently located in the heart of East Austin, close to the MLK train Station, downtown and UT campus, including UT's baseball, basketball and football stadiums. Very convenient to many great bars, restaurants, and live music venues on E. 6th St., Manor St., E. 11th St. and the Red River district. Some of the best BBQ joints in the state are almost within smelling distance, including, Franklin, La Barbecue, Mueller's, Mickelthwaite Kerlin and Sam's. Your own car is highly recommended while visiting Austin, as the public transportation system here has something to be desired. That being said, you are a 10-minute walk to the MLK train station which runs to and from downtown (but not too late).

Weekend Trip to Urban Hideout

What a peaceful, cozy, comfortable spot, with the kindest hosts. The cabin was perfectly appointed. I needed a place to rest and recharge and I got exactly that. The outdoor shower was the icing on the cake. Pretty much nothing better than being sheltered by a wise old oak tree as you wash off that road dirt. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the more peaceful and humane side of Austin!

Check in and out was very easy and simple. The bathhouse and showers were clean and taken care off. The cabin itself was clean and the mattress was so so comfy. After spending all day at ACL, that bed was like laying on a cloud.

Loved the vibe of this place! I stayed in the airstream and it was so cute and fun. They put a lot of details that made my stay comfortable. The area is beautiful and having access to the Colorado River was awesome. We took rides in the golf cart and hung out at the pool. Super dog friendly and I appreciated how safe I felt in the space. The container bathrooms were clean and loved the set up. Also appreciated the showers having a bench and hooks. I can tell they put a lot of thought into the little things that make a good stay. Thank you again and will definitely be back!

Lost horizon was a great experience for us. I’m in my 40’s and we enjoy camping but I am not into communal living or multiple units close together. This offered the seclusion we wanted and a fair price. You will need a 4x4 vehicle or at least a full size suv to get down the last stretch of road to the sites. Everything else is just as noted on the site and within the website for the property. Don’t hesitate to book!

We had a wonderful time staying at Lost Horizon with our two pups! We enjoyed the quiet and serene surroundings, saw mule deer and antelopes, and felt 100% rejuvenated and recharged. Jeremy and Stacie were kind and communicative hosts. I would recommend Lost Horizon to anyone looking for a getaway from urban living.
