Fantastic place! Stayed in one of the cabins. Clean, quiet, and great internet. Able to work with no issues. Super friendly crew and the food truck was amazing. You have to try the banana pudding for dessert...

1 night at Remote Lone Mound Ranch

I was going to tent camp in under a grove of Elms and in fact had a great yoga session under their protection but approaching storms changed my sleeping arrangements to the car. Had a front row seat to lots of lightening and wind but no rain. My host graciously guided me in to the camp via messages and talked me through some road detours.

Amazing place to spend time at! Lana’s land will not disappoint you at all. Beautiful property, weather and sunsets. The coyotes howling in the distance was awesome to hear and fall asleep too. If your close to the Ranch and need a place to stay, this is a great spot!

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset. When we stepped inside the bunkhouse, it was like going back in time minus a few modern conveniences!!! We loved it.!!!!

This was our 3rd time staying here! Secluded and peaceful with endless stargazing. We tried a new campsite and it was just as beautiful. Mama cow greeted us at breakfast. The best spot we've ever stayed with our dogs. Met Lana and she is doing a wonderful thing bringing slow grown, nutrient dense food back to market with love! Seriously, try some product!

Great overnight stop on Historic Route 66. Easy on/off Interstate 40. Quiet, peaceful, dark, private, power was clean & water pressure was great.

I spent 2 nights camping up on the mesa site and it was great! It's very quiet and peaceful with the very occasional vehicle driving by on the road below. I would definitely come back and camp at Lone Mound Ranch next time I'm in the area.

I pulled up late afternoon. It was pretty obvious where to park but just in case. I went into the office and asked + wish I could remember her name but the woman who manages it was really nice. Polite came outside. Showed me exactly where to park. I have a smaller class c RV. She told me they only have a 50 amp + asked if I needed an adapter. I told her I was okay. I had one but thank you. It was nice to be able to hook up for the night with electric and water. They are working on a bunch more sites including they will soon have available. Cohol I would definitely stay here again. Cute little town!. Cute little hotel and very friendly.

Awesome experience! We were in a remote site in a little grove of trees. Amazing stars, wildflowers, coyotes singing at night and birdsong in the morning. If you like the idea of being well off the beaten track with loads of space around you, this is the place for you. Bonus: a cell tower very nearby means excellent service.

Beautiful secluded spot under some tall trees. Heard the coyotes yipping at sunset. Pretty level spot. Table, chairs, and fire pit were all there. It was really windy so I didn’t have a fire. Lots of dirt roads for taking a walk. Great stay!

1 night at Remote Lone Mound Ranch

Super cute little spot! It was truly a good first night in Texas. We arrived late but still made the most out of cooking up some steaks from their store for dinner. We would have loved doing some more exploring but our journey carried us on! We will remember this place for sure!

1 night at Silver Wind RV Park and Cabins

This is a very well kept rv park with cabins, a very nice laundry cabin, a clean shower and even a food truck with a pretty extensive menu. The tent camping area is a wide open area and worked well for my self contained set up. I would highly recommend as a stopover for Colorado-Texas Texas-Colorado travel. It was worth the short detour from the main routes.

The little rustic cabin we stayed in was super cute! We arrived late in the night and had no issues finding it in the dark. Huge plus we were able to have a campfire! The sky was filled with stars which made the night even more magical. Woke up to ice outside and saw the beautiful view for the first time. Our dog liked sniffing around the barn and the hay stacks.

All sites are pull-thru with full hook ups, electricity is included in the monthly rate. We have Wi-Fi, a bathhouse, a full-service laundry facility, plus good ole fashion hospitality. We live on site and are available to assist in any way we can.

Schaffer Farm is a 80 acre farm with 10,000 sq. ft. market garden! Located off old Route 66 in the Texas Panhandle. Our fresh veggie season is from July through October or first freeze, offering corn, okra, squash, zucchini, tomato, variety of peppers, watermelon, cantaloupe and so much more. Our farm is far and wide, on a clear day our sunrises and sunsets are absolutely beautiful and can see for miles. HISTORY: Schaffer Farm - Located on Historic Route 66 "The Jericho Gap" and Ghost Town. The Township of Jericho was founded in the late 1880's as a stage coach mail stop to change horses and feed any passengers aboard, settlers began to gather at the end of the Red River Wars in the late 1870's. 1900-1902 Construction began on a railroad track built by the Choctaw, Oklahoma and Texas Railroad Company. The first official train ran on July 6, 1902 through Jericho, cattle loading facilities were constructed to accommodate nearby large ranches and huge water storage reservoir was built by the railroad to refill steam engines. Jericho became famous in legend and folklore after congress authorized a new coast-to-coast highway in 1926, calling it Route 66. It's passage through Jericho added prosperity with several gas stations, mercantile stores, Hotel (Historic Hotel Lyons) and tourist courts built to serve the travelers. "WHY JERICHO GAP" The main reason for fame came from the stretch of highway between Alanreed and Groom which went through Jericho, rains or snowy weather caused these dirt roads to turn into gumbo-like mud becoming almost impassable to the vehicles of the time and still stands true to this day. FAMOUS PEOPLE OF JERICHO: Carolyn Jones, who played fictional character Morticia Addams from the Addams Family television and film series (1964) J.W. "Digger" Howard - Recognized for his community efforts and contributions to Western Heritage and his love for Team Roping which led him to the board of one of the largest team roping associations in the state at that time, The Texas Roping Association. HISTORIC JERICHO CEMETERY: Established in 1894 after an unusual outbreak of Malaria killed several settlers. The cause was traced to stagnant water at the spring where drinking water at the spring was obtained. Improvements to the facility were made eliminating the stagnant water. This cemetery is still active and is listed on the Texas historic registry. SCHAFFER HISTORY: The Schaffer Family came this way in 1894, settling 1 miles north of Jericho had businesses at Jericho, born and raised and died at Jericho are considered Pioneers of their time. ACCESSIBILITY: Located off Interstate 40 and Highway 70, entrance to Schaffer Farm is at Highway 70 with Texas Flag right at the entrance. Our farm roads are not paved and is up to guest discretion as to whether your rig has sufficient clearance to make it in. If you have concerns please contact us for a road condition update, as ease of access can change with the weather. WEATHER: Accommodations during snow and rain will be monitored and travelers will be notified of alternate routes or alternate place to stay. We look forward to hosting you.
