Learn more about this land: The Rock Pit is a 5 acre swimming hole located in Trinity County that has been there over 50 years. Long ago they had dug out an area on a hill for rock on the dirt roads, and hit and underground water table. There are no fish in the Rock Pit, as the pH is 4.5, so no fish will live in it. I recall swimming there as a small boy, and wanted to share my memories with others. Depth ranges all over, but the deep end is around 15 feet. I have 5 kayaks currently, but bring yours if you have them, along with your vests. There is fishing in Lake Livingston, my place is north of it. There is access to Lake Livingston via White Rock Creek. A public boat ramp in on Highway 94, just outside Trinity. Or you can go back towards Trinity, to highway 357 and go to a ramp closer to the big lake. Tall pine tress, a few Oaks, and maple trees surround the place. Bring your mosquito repellant, as you are in the country! The place is raw right now, but I am planning improvements such as a few A frame cabins, a showering area and so on. So many things to do! We had a wonderful stay at Stewart’s Cove in Cabin 3! Gene was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the cabin itself was clean and comfortable with great water pressure and a beautiful view. We loved being able to catch fish right from the pier and truly enjoyed every moment. We’re already planning to return — this time bringing our whole family!

The cabin was very clean. We loved that it came stocked with anything needed in a kitchen (pots, pans, cutlery, paper towels, etc.) The pool was awesome and it is so nice that they have a restaurant on site. My family of 4 and our 2 dogs had a great time here and we will be back.

It’s a very nice new place with a great pool and lake views. It’s a very big park and we were there in a Class C on a slow weekend. It had a very nice kids playground and a venue for a live band or performance that was near the pool. We had an afternoon snack at the Restaurant that was good. It’s very much a bar type food restaurant. The water and ice tea had an odd taste like the water softener put too much salt in it. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. There was a pool swim up bar that was staffed from the inside restaurant bar, but it was a light weekend as the park and pool were not very busy. The RV sites were long and plenty wide. I was in a section with only 3 RV’s near by and the pedestal voltage was only 111 volts on the 30a circuit. While sufficient for my stay could be a problem if they were very full in the heat of summer. The Dumpster was in the far corner of the park which is large. They could probably use a bit more lighting through out. I had to use a flash light to get to the dumpster at night. We will definitely be back. Next time in our Class A to test out the 50a service. It might be interesting to see if the pool or restaurant can handle the capacity if the park was full. There are a lot of sites

I absolutely LOVED this place! It was so peaceful and the exact unwind place I was looking for. Cabin was clean, and cozy with great views It was my dog’s first time at the lake and he had a blast going in and out of the water. My favorite part was laying on the dock at night, listening to the crickets, frogs, and looking at the stars. 100% will be going back.

We rented cabins 1 and 2 for a weekend family trip. We had an amazing time! I cannot say enough about how awesome this site is. They have so much to do; basketball, sand box, petal boats, kayaks, life jackets and a WATERSLIDE. The waterslide was a huge hit for both the kids and adults! The Pavilion is covered and a great place for the kids to play. We spent most of our time in the area near the water slide and the dock; there are 2 picnic tables, a grill and an outdoor sink here. We brought flashlights and lanterns but didn't need them! The cabins have plenty of outside lighting, the pavilion and area with the grill also have lights! Both cabins 1 and 2 have a loft area with a little door that closes at the bottom of the stairs. Cabin 2 has a lock on the door, this was helpful since we had a toddler traveling with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and you will too!

We spent a lovely week at this Hipcamp spot and had an absolutely fantastic time. From the moment we arrived, everything was just right—the lakeside was ready for swimming, complete with a fun water slide, and the air conditioning in our cabin was wonderfully cool. Our host was incredibly hospitable and made sure we felt right at home. We spent our days canoeing, kayaking, and exploring the local town’s charming antique shops, a new ice cream parlor, and a cozy bookstore. We also enjoyed a delightful little diner one evening. One highlight was taking a boat over to a local restaurant with dockside access, which was a really unique experience. We loved it so much that we decided to stay an extra day to soak up more of the lakeside relaxation. Overall, it was an easy drive from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and perfect for a family getaway

This was an absolute perfect little getaway. We chose the rustic tent area and pitched ours in a quiet little spot. We were a little late getting started from home and did not arrive until after the office was closed but I called and the office staff laid out very clear instructions on what I needed to do upon arrival to ensure we were all checked in. Amazing prices for both camping and the kayak rentals and an awesome staff that went above and beyond the ensure that we enjoyed our stay. We’ve already been chatting about our next visit to the area and are 100% looking at rebooking at this location.
