Avinger Station RV Park The History of the Station Established in 1876 as a Railroad Depot Avinger Station operated as such until the mid 20th century. After being put out to pasture, the depot was rescued from oblivion as a barn and brought back to Avinger in 1998. It was moved to a more prominent location near its original site in June of 2021 after pondering how the depot might serve the community once again. Desiring to preserve and improve our community’s heritage of service to travelers and trades, the depot is being restored and will serve as the RV Park office. If you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 2 days prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation to recieve a full refund. If you cancel with less that 2 days notice, we can rebook your stay, or issue a partial refund. •Rates and policies are subject to change and may vary. a 7 day cancellation notice is required for some holidays, special events, and whole campground bookings. •Rental payments must be made in advance or upon arrival. ACCOMMODATIOS AND ACTIVITIES •Check-out time is 11:00am •Quite hours are from 10pm to 8am. •Speed limit is 5MPH •Only on RV and two other vehicles are allowed per site. they must be clean and good condition regardless of age. •Sites must be kept clean. A dumpster is available for bagged trash. •A sewer hose "donut" or "L" connector is required. •Campfires are allowed only in fire pits or grills that are raised and contain the fire. Breeo fire pits and grills are available for rent. •The code for use of the bridge (laundromat, bath, and exercise room) must not be given out to anyone of your party. •Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while outside your RV at all times. •Only 2 pets are allowed per RV and must not disturb other guests. Pets outside must be on leash, under control, and not left unattended. Pet owners are responsible to immediately picl up after their pets. Plastic bags and bins are available for waste. •Use of generations is prohibited, expect during a power storage. •Washing or changing oil of vehicles in the park is prohibited. •Smoking is prhohibited inside avinger station's depot (office, cafe, and museum) and bridge (laundromat, bath, and exercise room.) •Do unto othere as you would have them do unto you. Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe. There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver. Nice little area! Enjoyed our time here. Playground with plenty of stuff for kids, nice bathroom and an outdoor shower with hot water. Tent Site A was very secluded and a short walk to the bath house and was next to the trail and just across the road from the playground. It could use a dedicated tent pad, the spot where a tent would go seemed like the area where water would run. We ended up pitching on the asphalt pad to avoid any issues cause a slight chance of rain was possible. Just a short drive from basically everything in Tyler. Would stay again for sure.

We are self contained and didn’t need hookups so we were able to use the beautiful spot right by the pond. Nicely shaded, large fire ring, picnic table and chairs. There was a charcoal grill available as well. The outhouse in this area of the property was very nice and clean. Lynda and Ruston were very welcoming hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend a stay here if you are in the area.

I was very happy staying here very clean and quiet. Just what the doctor ordered i stayed at campsite A and it was just the right amount of space needed to put my camper in. At night I was visited by this huge dog who was really friendly and just wanted to get some pets in. He scared me at first but when I petted him he just melted in my lap.
