Avinger Station RV Park The History of the Station Established in 1876 as a Railroad Depot Avinger Station operated as such until the mid 20th century. After being put out to pasture, the depot was rescued from oblivion as a barn and brought back to Avinger in 1998. It was moved to a more prominent location near its original site in June of 2021 after pondering how the depot might serve the community once again. Desiring to preserve and improve our community’s heritage of service to travelers and trades, the depot is being restored and will serve as the RV Park office. A dumpster is available for bagged trash. •A sewer hose "donut" or "L" connector is required. •Campfires are allowed only in fire pits or grills that are raised and contain the fire. Breeo fire pits and grills are available for rent. •The code for use of the bridge (laundromat, bath, and exercise room) must not be given out to anyone of your party. •Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while outside your RV at all times. •Only 2 pets are allowed per RV and must not disturb other guests. Pets outside must be on leash, under control, and not left unattended. Pet owners are responsible to immediately picl up after their pets. Plastic bags and bins are available for waste. •Use of generations is prohibited, expect during a power storage. •Washing or changing oil of vehicles in the park is prohibited. •Smoking is prhohibited inside avinger station's depot (office, cafe, and museum) and bridge (laundromat, bath, and exercise room.) •Do unto othere as you would have them do unto you. This is a quite spot in east texas. There’s woods on one side of us and a cattle/ quarter horse ranch on the other. We have calm red angus cattle on the property and their guard donkeys. If you’d like to feed them just let us know! You can fish near by at a public fishing spot. We will eventually be able to offer fishing on the property, we are working on stocking. If there ends up being an interest in hunting we can look into that. This is a primitive site so bring your gear! Mount Pleasant and New Boston are about 30 minutes away with restaurants and shopping.

This spot was tucked away from the main road and served very well for car camping. It was quiet and peaceful. The provided chairs were nice, we were able to sit outside to take in the nature before we departed in the morning. Bennie was also communicative and flexible. Would recommend!

If you are like myself, you long for a full hookup camping spot all by yourself, nestled in the East Texas woods with nobody to share your perfect spot with. If so, then look no further. Linda is an awesome host and has a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy. I have found my spot and will be booking it as much as I can, so you better get there before I do.

This was my second stay at Avinger RV Park. I love the size of the park. I think there are only 14 sites on the property. There are plenty of pull through sites. It is very clean and the full time RVers keep their site clean. There is a weight room, bathroom with shower and FREE washers and dryers. They are renovating the station. I'm sure it will be beautiful once it's complete.
