I kinda really don’t even want to leave a review because I don’t want the secret getting out. But this camp site is just amazing if you know what you’re getting into! It’s rustic, bring your own table and water rustic. But for that “downside” you get so many upsides. The quiet, ooooh the quiet. The stars and the quiet make you forget you’re only 30 minutes from home. The hosts are amazing, friendly, and on top of everything on the facility. As an example, there was a shortage of tp in one of the bathrooms, no big deal, I keep tp in the truck for this reason. But next time I went in (next morning) it was stocked! It’s the little things in that really and truly make this place incredible.

We had a great time here! Sites were large enough to accommodate 2 vehicles and a tent, plus 3 dogs. Bathrooms at the front were clean, plus a hose nearby for non potable water.
We had fire wood delivered to our site a couple of times and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Loved the river site we stayed at. Very well kept and I love that they keep nature as it should be - mostly untouched. It's really beautiful out there. We'll be staying again soon! The staff were wonderful and friendly. Thank you all!

At first we were worried we weren't going to have enough room, but we worked it all out and Man... This place is awesome. The swing under the tree house was so peaceful. You are completely secluded. NOBODY around. The pizza oven was a huge success with the kids. All around it was a very private place to just relax and forget about the week you had.

Everything was amazing! The owners were so helpful and attentive. There were really awesome returning campers there too, and they really made us feel welcome and part of a community. We realized we forgot our dog’s toys at home and they gave us some balls for her to play with! The bathrooms were very nice and very clean. The river access was awesome. We would definitely return.

The camp is very clean and has multiple options for campers from tenting, RVing. We stayed at river #17 campground. The campground managers were VERY communicative throughout our stay. If we needed wood or an inner tube they were happy to let us know the process and arrived to provide what was needed quickly. The showers were a welcome added benefit of the campground. We had a small issue with an unwelcome guess and with one quick message to the campground they took care of it. I look forward to enjoying more moments at this campground in the future!

This place was great! We were at a forest site and it felt pretty primitive. It was so peaceful and it was very convenient having access to get in the river on a hot day. The forest sites do not have a table so we made sure to bring one. We will definitely be camping there again!

We really enjoyed our last minute tent camping trip at River Forest! We came in after a big storm, so a few sites were a little muddy (expected), but we found a great spot that offered lots of shade but wasn’t too muddy. Took the dogs down to the river the next day and they had a blast. The owners are really nice and helpful. We will definitely be camping here more often!

Cool spot with a little sloped path to river from site. Super responsive camp hosts. Enjoyed kayaking in the river, swimming in the pool, showers, AC in restrooms, and space at campsite.

The campgrounds are fenced and gated. Also well maintained, with a functional restroom and shower. Plenty of space to set up camp and play outdoor games.
The owner, Mark, is super helpful and a very welcoming person. Our site was set up with stacked firewood and logs ready to light in the pit. Canoes and paddles were also available and ready for use at the river bank.
This place is a Fisherman’s Dream come true!!!
I landed big fish and often. My 4 year old reeled in his first fish. I caught [ 7 ] Bass ( Large Mouth & Small ) [ 1 ] Catfish, [ 2 ] Spotted Gar, and a 14” Black Crappie!
We had a great time and some seriously fond family memories were made! This was my boy’s first camping trip and he wants to go back already!
