When we first bought this land in 2021, we had a vision to create a place where we would share our land and let guests experience the beauty of the Texas hill country. Our goal was to have a comfortable place to stay while being close to downtown Johnson City and the Texas 290 wine trail.

Only a year later, we're thrilled to open Johnny Yurts. We've already created a lot of amazing memories ourselves and have enjoyed hearing stories and seeing pictures from our guests as well.

Lucky Arrow Retreat sits on 15 acres on Bell Springs Road in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. On the outskirts of scenic Dripping Springs - home to Sam Beam of Iron & Wine and short drive from the Austin of Willie and Stevie Ray - Lucky Arrow Retreat is the perfect place to feel the music of Texas. At the Confluence of the Mighty Llano River and the Majestic James River lies something completely unexpected - an undiscovered gem in the Texas hill country. The Dos Rios.

We have over 19.3 acres of hill country beauty to explore. Take a casual dip in the mighty Llano River, or take the plunge off of 20-foot red rock cliffs into deep cool water. Kayak, canoe, swim, visit the Eckart Bat Cave, or take a scenic drive down the gorgeous James River Road (a winding gravel road that goes over several low water crossings on the crystal clear James River). Enjoy the island in front of the property, with its beaches and multiple access points to swimming holes.

We also have camping, a tiny home and a fully renovated vintage airstream available (see other Hipcamp listings). We also rent kayaks and canoes!

What you eat or do offsite is your business not ours, but we ask that in our communal space, including  on BBQs and campfires that no flesh food be cooked or consumed please. PETS MUST BE LEASHED for their own safety. There is ample wildlife here: We have deer that pass through, feral hogs, an armadillo, frogs, turtles, centipedes, lizards, scorpions and snakes (some are poisonous!).

Our Sanctuary includes a young garden and organic orchard. The Eye of the Storm is a spiral labyrinth, inspired in part by the giant spiral at Calico Basin in Red Rock National Conservation Area just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is the featured part of a small Peace Garden and the larger Seed of Life intentional Essene community retreat center. At the center of the 32 foot wide limestone labyrinth are Nikola Tesla inspired coiled copper pipes topped with double terminated crystals to create a positive energy vortex. The labyrinth was installed in the Summer of 2022 and officially opened on International Peace Day 2022. It is listed on the World Wide Labyrinth Locator.

Numerous Energy Vortices connect underground within a rough triangular region between Austin, San Antonio and Llano, Texas. One of the largest outcroppings is called Enchanted Rock, a massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas. The vortex energy spreads out south and eastwards from this special State protected Natural Area. The energy flows through telluric Ley Lines that cross over the Edwards Aquafer – one of the most prolific aquifers in the world – which spouts countless healing springs. At the very center of this energy vortex area lies the Texas Wine Trail between Johnson City and Fredericksburg. The Seed of Life Sanctuary is along this highway and at the VERY center of this zone.

Gather for sacred ceremony on our Main Stage or in Ceremonial Ground on a magnificent splay of Limestone and Crystal-Rich granite. This outcropping is alongside a year-round spring-fed creek. Underneath the massive, ancient lava magma lava flow granite river rocks are large crystals, quartz, topaz and tourmaline. Standing barefoot on the rock you can feel the energy emanating upward.

Our ranch was originally part of the enchanted Rock property owned by Mr Moss. It is currently a 6th generation ranch. Original ranch was 1767 acres. 

The highest elevation is 1600'. You can locate us on Google Earth by searching for Dooley Wahl Rd Llano, Texas.

We have secluded camping available. Primitive tent camping, or if you want to go glamping you can bring an RV with a generator and be even more secluded but still have the comfortable amenities of an RV.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN RV...no worries!

Contact outdoorsy.com. you can rent an RV. They will deliver it, set it up and pick it up. Remember to ask for a generator.

You don't have to bring wood. We got yuh covered!

There is a porta potty at the dig site. We are currently working on getting an outside bathroom and shower area.

Firepit musicians welcome! Bring your instruments!

Bring bikes, dirt bikes, atv or mule.

Rock hounds who love to pick up rocks will love this place.

Photographers who enjoy taking pictures of nature and wildlife will love this!

During the month of February March and April the ranch provides a safe space with no electric lines in the 1500' long Sandy bottom dry creek. Leaving you with straight Lanes to you kites. Fighting kites and rather large exotic kites.

City on a Hill at Spring Creek

Located 10 miles from Main Street Fredericksburg, this property has 4 private cabins with their own back porch that overlooks the creek. Enjoy the wildlife while glamping in your comfortable cabin!

We hope you'll enjoy beautiful Spring Creek, many deer, and the private hot tubs on the porch!

There is plenty of nature to explore on and near our property - you can walk/hike around, go fishing, and pet/feed the ponies on our property! If you'd like to check out the surrounding areas as well, we are within 15-20 minutes of Enchanted Rock, Lady Bird Johnson State Park, Sacred Cross Mountain Park, many wineries, local shopping, and dining in Fredericksburg, TX. 

Other Things to Note:

- You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception and wifi are both available on our property. Feel free to unplug during your stay though!

- The cabin is quite private, though you may see other visitors in passing during your stay. 

- Furry friends are welcome! Simply add the "extra" of a pet fee when completing your booking on Hipcamp.
